Hi from SoCal!

Hello! My name is Chien, and while I've collected BJDs for years I've always silently enjoyed DDs from afar. When Volks released the MDDs, I knew I would get one eventually-- I'm still waiting for a mold to really grab me though. I'm a doll painter but have not painted DDs before-- I usually paint BJDs, and have started doing Monster High repaints. Nice to meet you all. I'm excited to join this forum so that I can look at many beautiful DDs and be inspired!

Hi, welcome to the forums. ^_^ The Monster High repaints I have seen are very cool! Maybe in the off-topic doll section you can show some of your work, because I would love to see.

 

Have you ever heard of SQ Labs? www.sqlabdolls.com Perhaps you will like one of those head molds for your MDD?

I love the SQ Lab heads too! I'm partial to Ren, Hibiki, Haruka, and Tsubaki. Leaning towards Hibiki the most. Basically, the younger looking faces. Thanks for the suggestion too. I'm a bit antsy though and really liked the look of the HDD-06 head on the MDD body so I'm wondering if I should just scurry off to Volks this weekend and pick that up right away, haha! After reading through this forum and googling a lot, I feel like I would love the posing ability of the Obitsu 40cm body too. So much to choose from. It's very fun.

The HDD-06 head is so versatile, I wish they had released it a long time ago. So many characters can be created with it. I hope you find something you like soon, your Monster Highs are very cute I am excited to see what you would do with a DD. !

Thank you so much! I think the HDD-06 head is just so darn cute-- looks great on the MDD body too. I think if I get one I might sand its face a bit to round it out for extra moe factor. Gosh, so many choices. I'm excited too. Thanks!

Billy, thanks for the warm welcome! I am indeed full of that kind of overflowing spirit, haha! I'll try not to pester people too much with questions though but have made it an assignment to basically read all of the information I can find on here. Thanks again, and I am already having fun.

Talolili, yeah they're really popular right now. I might sell some of mine too, eventually. It's really hard finding clothes and shoes for those dolls, so a lot of times you have to buy a whole doll just to get your hands on some dang shoes. I already have doubles, as a result, but I don't want to be flooded with a million MH dolls just so that my girls will have more than one outfit, haha.

 

Pandacornn, I saw the meet-up thread for Arcadia! Unfortunately, Arcadia is pretty far from Irvine. I did read the thread about an Orange County meet though. If an Orange County meet happens, I'll be there most likely.
