Anouc Posted April 8, 2012 (edited) Hi volks ^^ Today i become a little confused about aaaaall the shipping costs ^^ ... Sometimes i got packages from the USA for arround 25$ with insurance, and other times i must pay 100$ with insurance? So my thought was to collect and discuss shipping quotes ^^ ... Hope thats possible xD So let me know, which shipping rates do you know in your country to send something with insurance, without insurance ... with tracking, without tracking ^^ I can tell: To ship something from germany to the international world its really difficult ^^ But i begin to tell the smallest art and the biggest art ^^ smallest package/or big envelop (maybe 2-3 accessoirs for DDs ^_~): arround 4€ without insurance with tracking and little insurance (25€ save) add 2,05€ plus mooore insurance and than you must send it as a big package ... (most times it depent on how much insurance you want T_T) big package (Dollfie Dream): the calculator says something arround 40€ -.-""" But i think its with insurance up to 500€ ... mitsuki Posted April 8, 2012 I sent a body to Sweden from the U.S. (not fully insured but with tracking) by Global Priority Mail (USPS) and it was $50.40. I also bought something from the U.K. and shipping to U.S. for 5-day non-tracked method would have been £33 ($52.40) and with tracking was £54 ($85.77). So I think shipping can be a lot depending on which country is comes from or goes to.
Cauldroness Posted April 9, 2012 I wonder if your seller is trying to ship via Express Mail International, which is faster and way more expensive than Priority Mail International. $100 seems right for Express Mail, but Priority Mail should be closer to $50-$60. Maybe you could ask what shipping service s/he is using? Doll Photos & Doll Jewelry Sales: Follow me on Instagram!
wotafarce Posted April 9, 2012 My DD is coming from USA and is just over $50 for shipping including tracking, am sure it's by the method mentioned in post above, this is in line with another similar sized item I bought last year. $100 seems high Postage from UK depends on package size and more specifically the weight and the costs for some services are about to rise very steeply for those thinking of buying from a UK source soon. Deinbeck Posted April 11, 2012 I'm having issues with cost as well. With tracking through Canada Post shipping international I'm looking at like $120+ with a tracking number for a DD sized package. I'd loooooove a cheaper alternative, it shouldn't be so expensive!
waha Posted April 11, 2012 A friend reshipped a Volks USA order for me earlier, cost $51 to ship it with Priority Mail International, and the box contained a DD2 body, some hands/eyes, and a wooden stand.

For larger packages it's good to compare costs with FedEx and UPS, they ship larger items for a better cost usually. Please visit my YouTube channel for helpful DD tips, tutorials, and reviews! Avnia Posted April 12, 2012 Let me see...Shipping from Norway is expencive. Selfpacked items (length+ width+ height= up to 3 meters) With tracking and insurance small items (up to 1kg) doll heads Europe: 49$ Rest of the world: 59$ Medium Items (up to 3kg) dolls Europe: 54$ Rest of the world:85$ Norway (up to 10kg): 29$ I think you can see where this is going...... We do have smartpost (just for norway) envelopes, but with the new max.2cm height rule they can hardly be used for simple clothing. And the largest smartpost (norway only) and CarryOnCash boxes is 50cm large, so they are allso usless for dolls
