plzplzplzplzplz help me!!!

i just recently came across dollfie dreams and now i really want one!! the only problem is that i have NO clue on where to get them.... well i know of places like japan auction and of volks usa, but i cant find one that i like or can afford.... i might just buy the seperate partsm but i cant do face ups!! i would mess it up so badly so than i would need to find somebody that can do them. if somebody would please tell me where i can find somebody to do face ups or that knows where to get them for a reasonable price range (400-900$ usd) that would be AMAZING (my email is cheycheymr@yahoo.com if you want to contact me )

sometimes you can get lucky on yahoo japan you just have to keep looking people here usually post good finds in the sales and auction section of this forum. As for face up artists there are some people here that do face ups. The only other artist I know of is Hikaru132 on flickr.

Your best bet to get a character doll at retail is to wait for a lottery. There's actually going to be one quite soon: Dolpa 27 is in less than a month, so if you like any of the 3 dolls there you can test your luck. Some older dolls are never available for retail (like Saber, Tamaki, etc), but others you can sometimes snag for around retail or even under it if you keep hunting! Yahoo Japan and Mandarake are your best bets, but good deals pop up on Flickr and figure.fm, and even eBay occasionally.

 

If you want to go the custom route you can either try for a custom head on YJ (though these can run to insane prices), or get a faceup artist to do one for you. Hikaru was mentioned and he's great, and there are also several people right here who do some really gorgeous work! As for head molds, there are the standard ones or if you feel like spending a bit more you can get an SQlab head for $90. Bodies are available at Volks, unless you want a limited body (then you have to hunt around). Hope this helps!

There are great faceup artists out there. Hikaru132 is the one I would recommend because I have commissioned him before, but his waiting list is very long... I think that littlebearries on this forum does lovely faceups, but I am not sure if it is commission or just for friends.

oooooo i found one on mandarake foe 70,000 yen (about 856$ usd) she is estel freesia and i now want her really badly. it was almost like she was calling for me lol. well i hope i can get enough money for her in time (im broke...) how much do you normally spend for a dollfie by the way, like is 800 bucks a good deal or is it over priced?

Most are $1,000 or so, so I would say that's quite a good price, actually.

Since it's a character model and all.

Don't forget you'll probably have to have a deputy buy it for you, so the fees and double shipping really add up. You might want to look at mandarake instead to skip all of those fees.

And there are several other DDs available through mandarake as well, try searching for varying terms like DD, or Volks, or the name of the doll you want, their indexing is poor. Or look in the sales links section here for a thread that points to lots of DDs on mandarake.
