White Skin DD going pink?

Recommended Posts

Till Troll

My white skin DDII (Volks Lost Angel Marya) had stains on her bust on thighs, so I treated her with oxy10, and thoroughly washed her afterwards, last summer.

As I was looking at her more closely today, I found the treated areas were still her normal skin tone... whereas everything else has started going slighty pink! The treated areas are definitely still Volks white.

I've made her a red dress, but it was vinegar treated before hand, and washed, and she's only been in it for 5 minutes (I... don't trust it yet. Maybe after another vinegar soak). And it wouldn't explain the even dusky pink hue she has developed all over >.<

Has anyone else ever had this happen? I never keep her near red things. I wonder if she was pinkish when she came to me and I've only noticed now the stained areas have been destained...

Alas, it isn't just a small patch of pink: her entire body has a pinkish hue. The stain remover treated parts are the only parts still her original colour. :s

I love her regardless, and as the colour is almost completely even (apart from the bits I've treated) I won't bother replacing her body. I wish I knew why she has changed colour.

She's an older model, right? I wonder if this is the white skin version of "yellowing.". I haven't noticed anything with my Rei.

Well in viewtopic.php?p=40452#p40452 finnleo wonders if the stains can come from vapors from the dress even, if the dye is that loose. Also, in other threads they say since the oxy soaks into the vinyl it will continue working after it is wiped off.

Could that have happened in this case?

yes oxy does continue working after it is wiped off but the effect is more obvious if apply a few time, that what happen to my Saber Alter, after i apply the oxy cream a few time then stop for a while, few days later, the stain become faint by itself

I meant could the staining have been based on fumes from the clothes and not from direct contact.

If the dress smells very strongly toxic then it may be possible...

... otherwise i don't think such a thing as "fuming" exists...

I don't think so: the stains from fuming I think are still like normal stains, whereas her whole body has a pinkish hue: like she is flushed all over. I am assuming that where I treated the original black stains, I've also removed the pink staining. The red dress was treated with a vinegar soak and a machine wash as well, so it's unlikely to be due to the 5 minutes I let her wear it: I am just being paranoid about stains on my WS girl!

Because the pink is so even, its not very noticeable, which is lucky. I do wonder, as Marya is a slightly older model, maybe this is normal for a girl her age.

Vinegar may work only on certain dyes and it's not an universal solution. The fabric may stain after all.

I am just skeptical that a red dress (infinity dress style) could evenly turn her entire body slightly red/pink. Especially as she was wearing body stocking (my own made one, not Volks, I used a thicker fabric).

But it's really worrying if a dress only 5 minutes on a doll with a body stocking on, even after treating the fabric, can so drastically affect the dolls colour! Something else to worry about when buying/making clothes for our girls. :s

I supposed I should just be grateful it's so even >.<

I'm not sure, but Volks probably changed WS vinyl some time ago.

I had WS body from some years ago then I got a hew 04 head AFAIR and it was more pinkish.

Not much, but there was a difference.

Some people (Hikaru?) noticed, that DD NS also changed color, because newer batches of SQ Lab have different color than earlier, although they match new DD NS bodies.
