milpreve Posted April 17, 2012 I am quite sure this has been asked a thousand times, but I couldn't find it by browsing and "lottery" is too common of a search term. I know how they work (Volks holds your money and if they withdraw funds you win, if they don't you lose), but I don't know how to enter one, or how to find out when they happen, or anything. I never see them announced on Volks USA page. I'm sure I'm just a complete ditz on this, but I would appreciate advice, even if it does mean more competition. Thank you so much! Volks is pretty unforgiving if you fail to follow instructions. There's a fairly short lead time between notice and the lottery window itself, and the window itself is pretty small as well - so it's a bit of "blink and you'll miss it." I subscribe to the RSS feed for their blog and never miss something except from my own negligence. Basically, to get the entry, you add to cart and check out as though buying any other item. Volks puts a credit hold request with your bank, which will count against your credit limit. If you use a debit card, this will freeze that amount of cash. If you win, you get charged. If not, the hold eventually expires and you get the credit/money released. The length of the hold depends on your bank. Some release it early (like a couple days), while Volks can take a week or so to decide winners. So do not be alarmed if it is released, you may still have won.
