Deinbeck Posted April 19, 2012 I stumbled on these while picking through the Volks International web shop. I *think* you could classify it as a doll, but correct me if I'm wrong. https://www.volks.co.jp/page_ex.jsp?CONTROLID=SC0030&BUSINESSID=InitDisp&category=03&l=11&m=03&s=005 I haven't seen much on these. It looks like a kit you assemble. You'd have to make clothes I suppose. I only see a loli style no-boobs body type for the girls which is a little disappointing, but I guess the whole point of something like this would be the customization, so that could always be fixed. Struck me as being kind of cool, I like the idea of making my own custom doll/action figure, and they're pretty cheap!
Innocentsake Posted April 19, 2012 Those look really cool I would love to try and put together one of the male & female figures they have on their store. I wonder how tall they are? It doesn't say anywhere on the page.
Deinbeck Posted April 19, 2012 I *think* they're around 20cm.
Coffee Posted April 20, 2012 I'm so going to buy these. Might be a good thing to pick up while I'm in Japan in June... *hmmmmm...* I really love how pretty the bodies are. Much different from Obitsus smaller doll-bodies. urgh... Innocentsake Posted April 20, 2012 I *think* they're around 20cm. Oh darn, I was hoping they would be 27cm that way the boy could be the same size as my Pure Neemo Kirino I'd still want one though! If I ever do get one I hope they aren't too hard to put together since I've never done a kit like that before
wotafarce Posted April 20, 2012 I bought 3 of these heads of ebay a while ago as i wanted the black haired twin tail one to make a 1/6th Rin and they came as a job lot, i was hoping to use them on 27cm bodies as well. they are actually quite small and the people who i found online who used them, did so on Obitsu 23 or 25 cm bodies though on the 25 cm they look a wee bit small. A person called Maddy Bell uses these heads and the obitsu body to make up characters from the online story she posts and they look ok. They are meant to represent 13 to 15 year olds as she uses them. they are made from quite a hard plastic and come unfinished with some moulding needing trimmed and sanded of. I can post pics of them if you want to see one up close.

wotafarce Posted April 22, 2012 Will get pics up soon, they are not easy to photograph as I do not have them on bodies and they do not balance easily, they are back heavy due to the moulded hair.

wotafarce Posted April 23, 2012 Hi I finally have some pictures to post, the heads were a wee big bigger than I remember, the faces are quite small but with the hair attached they are a bit bigger, i have included some pics with two of my 27cm obitsus with megahouse anime heads attached to give a scale reference. hope these help P4230337 by wotafarce, on Flickr The eyes that you can buy from Volks for the open eyehole heads, I have one closed eyehole and two open eyehole heads P4220335 by wotafarce, on Flickr P4220333 by wotafarce, on Flickr P4220332 by wotafarce, on Flickr P4220330 by wotafarce, on Flickr P4220328 by wotafarce, on Flickr With Myrrin a 27cm Obitsu with megahouse anime head IMGP3654 by wotafarce, on Flickr With Stella, same scale and her head also from megahouse IMGP3644 by wotafarce, on Flickr IMGP3642 by wotafarce, on Flickr here you can see some of the moulding remnants that need to be removed, these heads have not been completed, I only stuck them together for the photos. Innocentsake Posted April 23, 2012 Thanks wotafarce! They are awfully cute *o* I see what you're saying about the extra pieces that need to be clipped/sanded off but it doesn't look too bad. Maybe later on I'll give one of these kits a try :
Alphakitty Posted April 25, 2012 These are so cute! I feel like you could mod the short green pigtails into a Yotsuba quite easily with a second set. Ahh now I am tempted to buy one~ DD Family: Mari, Saber Lily, Marisa, Soniko, Noumi, Kirino, Kuroneko, Sakura (DD Sakuno), Aerie, Akira, Kiki, Koko, Rose (DDS Mariko), Kureha, Ryoko, Lucy, Haruka, Rise, Extra & Alter! wotafarce Posted April 25, 2012 That was my plan when I bought these, to use the green haired one for a Yotsuba type character and the Twin tails for a 1/6 Rin Tohsaka. However it did not happen and they have been under my bed for 2 years now untouched.
