Photos from recent doll meet in Charlotte

Hey there! I try and go to any doll meets I can find near me but my local grop only meets once every 2 months. So I am left out in the cold for my DD and doll fix. Luckily, I have friends up in Charlotte, NC who have meetups as well. So I go and drop in on them when I can. Last weekend I did just that!

 

We went to a nice Asian restraunt that had a separte upstairs meeting area where we held our get together. It was really nice! We had lots of people show up but sadly, no other DD's were present besides mine and Ed's. But we still had fun anyway!

First up we have Ed's Yoko and my Manami and Sprout. We also had Mariko along for the ride. It seems someone (Ed) gave Manami alcohol and things started to go south quickly.

After running up a HUGE bar tab, Manami was feeling "artsy" so we headed over to where there was some nice lighting made by some shades in the window.

Then she heard about free candy so she went off to get her share.

Between the bar area and where we sat to eat, there was a wall with several oval portholes. We saw that they weren't glassed in and decided to do some photos with them.

Needless to say we had an excellent time at this meet.

 

Oddly enuff, Manami was the hit of the meetup. NOONE could resist her Peach Pai! Every girl there just had to come and poke and prod Manami, some of them several times. One friend of mine walked around the place with Manami, showing everyone her new toys. She even got our waiter to poke Manami's chest, he really wasn't sure what to think about that! LOL

 

And Sprout was also a huge hit. Everyone loved her face and attitude. I kept seeing one girl approach Sprout and make faces at her. When I asked what she was doing, she said she was trying to get Sprout to crack a smile, she couldn't see how such a cute girl could be mad all the time. I think probably 10 different people asked to hold Sprout and check her out.... she was VERY popular.

Thank you very much! Ed, his finacee and I are the only DD owners that attend meets in the NC and SC area. So we hardly ever see any other DD's but the ones we own. But tis still fun to attend meets to see others girls and share the vinyl love with other people who have never seen a DD before.

"Boob monsters"? LOL! Sprout, you win. Though it makes me wonder how she'll react to seeing Agatha, a booby girl who prefers to pretend said boobs don't exist. It's quite a contrast to the boob monsters she lives with!

 

Also, that is priceless about that girl trying to get a smile out of Sprout! Heheh. Sprout is like Neiko in the webcomic Sodium Eyes: she only smiles on the inside, but everyone knows that someday her inner smile will go critical at one too many cute kitten videos, and rainbows will just pour out of her face.

 

I bet Manami was practically gloating after all the attention to her new boob job. It's no wonder you brought Sprout rather than Rei, because I bet Rei would be following Manami around trying to bring her ego back down to size.

I am rather jealous of you guys who live in areas where you can get together like this, would love to introduce my girls to some others resin, vinyl or otherwise.

Thanks! We had a blast there. Manami was indeed all sorts of happy to be showing off her goods. Of course Sprout could have cared less about all that. And if Rei had come along, I'm sure half the pics I got of Manami wouldn't have happened due to Batou inducing headaches.

The lights we were using are nothing special, they were small desk lamps from target that run about 10-15 bucks each. So you can grab something similar easily. I'm glad you liked our silly pics, those are always so much fun to do!

I'm glad you enjoyed the pics. We all had a great time there this time and it was so nice to have resin people interested in my girls. Normally, the DD girls don't get too much attention but this time around it was all about them. I loved it.

The background was one of those tri folding carboard things kids use for school projects and such. I think they cost like 8 or 9 bucks at Walmart. And they just clipped on some sheer fabrics for the pink background stuff. Quite simple really.

Ever since joining the DD world it's amazing to find all these things I wouldn't normally use to be props & whatnot for Momoko. I wouldn't have thought of that for a background I adore simple things

Trust me, when I started collecting DD's, I didn't think there were ANY other doll owners in my state, much less in my city. But after going on DoA and checking their meetup section, I found local meets and went to one. Of course, I was the only one there with a DD. Everyone else had resins. But they were all nice to me and they were excited to see a DD in person since they never had before.

 

You may have to travel a bit to find more DD owners just like I did. The closest ones to me are 3 hours away. But we are good friends now and enjoy seeing each other when we can.

Heh, glad you enjoyed all the pics! We did have a great time there and I was so impressed people enjoyed Manami and Sprout so much. Manami has been up to this area's meets before, just not with Peach Pai. I'm guessing that put her over the top.

 

As for Mariko, she isn't mine. She belongs to a friend and I am just holding her till her new owner is ready for her. I agree that she's very pretty.
