Anouc Posted April 21, 2012 Oh no no no >_< ... yesterday i start to modd my DDh01 head >_< ... And when i start to sand the nose something uuuugly happend ... i found a air-bubble ... At first my thought was i sanded her nose to much, but than there wouldnt be so much god thick area arround the rest of the nose, and the big point, there would come light trough it T_T ... But it doesent Y_Y And now, i dont now what to do? ... The hole is really small ... but really to big for that face ... But to small for a primer i think? ...arg doese anyone of you know what do to? >______< https://www.facebook.com/fantasydolls?ref=hl ☆〜(ゝ。∂) ♥ Dollfie Dream Faceups ~ ☆
juu-yuki Posted April 21, 2012 I saw this on flickr =( Hope you can fix it or if VOLKS is willing to replace it. You can probably patch it with something... but than you have to spray over it with the right skin colour. A lot of work for a small hole http://juu-yuki.com Dolly Shop: http://www.lizanna.com
XOHimitsuOX Posted April 21, 2012 Awwww..... The only thing i can think of is getting some tamiya white putty and mixing it with some paint (hopefully you can mix the right paint to get the same color as normal skin) and filling the hole. Then do some fine sanding.
Anouc Posted April 21, 2012 I didnt used tamjya putty but another putty, and it doesent work very well because the area arround the hole "work" ... means its not hard, its to soft for "normal" putty ... And so it cracks again and again T_T ... So now i start an very special project... and complete untypical for Dollfie Dreams XD ... I now the most of you wouldnt like it a lot ^^ ... but maybe one or two ... (But it would be awesome when volks would replace the head, but i didnt have a lot hope that they do T_T ...because i sanded the original and "destroid" it) https://www.facebook.com/fantasydolls?ref=hl ☆〜(ゝ。∂) ♥ Dollfie Dream Faceups ~ ☆
Nightmare Tea Posted April 21, 2012 You know, I was wondering if my modded hdd-01 had an air bubble as well. If there was, I didn't pop it, but the tip of the nose was of a somewhat lighter colour. I hope you are able to fix the head, I wish you luck!

Kumi Posted April 21, 2012 Soft PVC afaik melts below 100 degrees C, so probably it can be melted using some kind "pot-in-boiling-water" method. Maybe You can try to melt a little PVC and check the possibility of melting it at home. And then use small piece of vinyl, for example from notched headcap, to fill the hole. jadepixel Posted April 21, 2012 I think the simplest fix may be to mix up some acrylic paint matching the skin tone, and try filling the gap with that. I've used big globs to make teeth before, it's flexible so it shouldn't crack. Not sure if the result will look seamless, though. You could also paint over it and make her more of a catgirl :3 jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop
XOHimitsuOX Posted April 21, 2012 What type of putty did you try? Is it the 2 part type or tube type? The type i was suggesting is a tube based, kinda like toothpaste consistency and quite fine. Also adding some paint thinner can help make it more applicable. I hope this helps, dunno what else to think of for possible fixes.
Anouc Posted April 21, 2012 I used tupe-paste ... But it was to hard after drying. And to find exact the same color than a DD skin vinyl is near impossible ... But the tip to melt a little bit vinyl sounds good! Next time i try this! But for this head i found another solution ... You will see it tomorow !!!
