@ baldylox, the chairs are great your girls love it comfortable right

Yes, they do enjoy being comfortable! I actually got most of those for cheap thru a friend in NC who had them for her resin dolls but was not using them anymore. And the couch was the one Volks had on sale for $39.00 I couldnt pass that up!

I was finally able to capture a quick snap of the BESTA case with dolls in it. I'll have better photos with more details soon.

Wow Max, that is a cool setup. The DD areas look good but I was having fun looking at all the *other* stuff around them! That Mister Donut Lion mascot is so awesome! I love that guy!

And the small area near the bottom of the cabinet that has the living room area from Fate/Sty Night looks so cool. It's a perfect little replica!

What's the big Haro/Haru robot at the top right? I know those are from the Gundam universe but what is that one? Just a model or is it electronic or something? It looks almost full scale....

And it looks like you are a Fate/Stay fan.... lots of Saber goodness around the DD's. Very nice setup! It packs a lot into a small space but doesn't look cramped.

What's funny is that as much of the Fate stuff is my GF's as is mine, I got her totally hooked! The little room at the bottom is actually made for Nendoroid figures but it's close enough for Figmas, and looks appropriate for Shirou's house.

The Haro is a full-scale one from the original Gundam, and came out a few years back, it's called "nandemo Haro", which basically means "anything Haro". It's hollow inside and the "ears" open up when you press a button on top, so you can use him as a cookie jar, a small wastebasket, candy bowl, or just for storing whatever small items can be put in a bowl-shaped container. I think he's empty right now, though. I also have the small talking electronic one somewhere.

The thing that's really cool about these cases is how customizable they are. It basically comes designed as pretty normal bookshelf, without doors and with four of the plain wood shelves, but there are a ton of options, like the glass doors we have, or alternate glass doors that are 1/3 height but full width, wood doors, and then the glass shelves like the upper one we're using, half-depth shelves like the one the little room is on, and even custom-fit LED arrays for lighting the thing up. It's a really slick system. It's also specifically designed to match the BESTA entertainment centers, although our setup isn't really configured right.

I love Ikea. Just sayin'. I love modern Scandinavian furniture.

So I posted this in my Alna welcoming thread but it's my new 'doll rig'. I even left enough space for eventually adding another one. Mwahahahahaha.

The backing is the fabric they sell at Ikea. You cut your own by the yard (of course) so I just made sure I had enough. I love the print! Otherwise there's just too much red wall in that room. O_o

They sell the light separately so make sure you pick one up if you want it lit! I think it looks really nice on... I probably need to put it on a timer. It's LCD so it stays nice and cool in the case.

Wow! That's such a nice setup, Nakitaninja. They are all dressed in light colors with blond or white hair and blue eyes. They look like angels!

Thank you both! Yeah, I realize I totally look insane with all the blonde dolls. Truth be told I am itching to get a black wig too... I am just scared of staining. I saw poor Yuki's head. T-T Armed with the knowledge I have from this forum and my coolcats order incoming with anti-color mitigation clothing (hopefully this week) I shall be able to dress them in ... non-white clothes.

^____^

I can't endorse the case enough though... I am really loving it! Where's that pesky link....it's called DETOLF:

Happy Ikea shopping!

Just a heads up, but Detolfs CANNOT be shipped via Ikea's online store. They'll tell you if your closest store has stock, but due to the fact that they're like 4 5' tall solid glass panels, not only would shipping cost more than the item itself, but it would most definitely shatter in transit. Now I'm reminded that I need to go pick up 1-2 more =P

Man the Detolf, I think every figure collector i Know has at least one Detolf, I don't know if I'd put Yoko in one, just cause i like playing with her too much to deal with a display case

Detolf are an important part of all figure collector's lives.. My dolls are up on a shelf in our bedroom though - but man Detolfs are great for displaying without collecting dust! I'll have to do some re-organising soon as the new orders come in.

I've seen a couple people with DD's using them and your three girls look adorable in them Nakitaninja!

It'll be nice to see you dress your girls in darker clothing and in darker wigs. I certainly enjoy dressing mine up despite the risk of staining (and in Elle's case, the staining she's suffered at my hands)

I'm definitely going to be getting some of the goodies that cool cats has to offer

Mister Sir, you couldn't be more correct. Shipping would be insane. I never order anything off of Ikea.com so it didn't even occur to me. They ship from CA, no matter how close you are to an actual store, so it's always crazy expensive to order anything large from Ikea online... unless you live in CA, I guess. ^^

Additionally/Supplementally: DETOLFS ARE INSANELY HEAVY!! You have to have two people to carry it. I am not exactly a weakling but we both struggled with loading this sucker into the car. It's a complete beast due to the glass panels. Chase used super manly-ness at one point to lift it but I was super p***ed because that thing could totally bust someone's back up.

Yeah, see that space to the left in the picture? That's where the next one is going. ^^ I have to admit I bought it for Beato so she could be in the spotlight in her dress. My dolls were totally fine on top of a bookcase too- I just have OCD dust issues with Texas. Never had allergies either till I moved here. *sniff, cough, cry*

Dance: It's true. I suck at playing with dolls but I am trying to get better. I love having them but I am not fully out of the closet yet as a doll owner. I have yet to take them outside with me and take pictures and whatnot. I am working on this character flaw and this forum is therapy for me...er... or a support group! ^^ We also have friends with kids who come over and this is a perfect solution to keep them a little more protected.

Hal, I totally thought of Ms. Euphie and your new daughters needing this case considering what happened last time. You've really been through it! Let me know how the shopping goes~ *^^*

Mitsuki, you are so kind. I hope to have the courage and styling ability that you possess one day so I can break out of my same 'ol same 'ol. (I am completely boring and order the same thing at restaurants too.) I love your family pictures because each doll is amazingly and impeccably styled- you can really *feel* who they are!

Ms. Plastic, thank you as always! Have you taken pictures of your setup? I don't have nice enough shelving to display my girls or else I would totally do that! I'll also update you on the CC order when it comes in and take some pictures. Mitsuki has images of a body suit on here too and that is what totally sold me on a CC order once I started putting in for limited dolls.

I don't have MUCH of a setup going on, but I could take a couple pictures of where my two darlings reside - most of our apartment is FILLED with figures, which is featured on my personal website (technically it's an effort between three people so there's two full features of collection shots up there)

For you I will snap a couple shots of where I display Ellie and Saber, and I'll also take a shot of how I store all their clothing. ^_^

Your post reminds me that I should be actively searching for a glass case for both of my musume. Without a case, they both will have to share my computer desk.

I hope you figure out where you wants your MDD hang out soon.

Oh... and I almost forgot...

I actually keep my Resin dolls in a cabinet with glass sliding doors that is deep enough to hold their fancy chairs... I might just have to look for something like that for my DDs... and... more chairs... ack.

And thank you!
