So cute! I've heard of Mama Chapp dolls through Lucky Star, and I have to say, although reportedly expensive, those dolls are "moe" as all get out. Big eyes, charming expressions and cute clothes (and also visible joints, which are also cute in my eyes). Sounds like a doll I would buy if it weren't for my other hobbies and my other dolls.

I finally got around to fixing the floppy torsos. They don’t flop backwards anymore! I got some new ones so I’ll have to fix them too. Hate to admit it, but at last count I have over twenty Mamachapps at home. The plastic army is growing! I don’t check Mandarake much anymore (to keep the adoptions at a minimum). However I did get one of the orange year of the tiger girls. Her outfit is quite unique, lol.

How did you fix the floppy back? One of mine has this problem- so far I’ve just balanced her on a Kaiser stand and she’s fine.

To fix the floppy torso I used 2mm thick craft foam to make an insert in the lower torso joint (between the hip and abdomen pieces) that filled in the hole and made the abdomen piece have something to grip. I had to take the abdomen piece apart to get them to separate and cut out an oval donut shape in the craft foam that fits inside the hip cavity. I had to use two 1mm pieces as I didn’t have 2mm foam. It helps as the torsos aren’t doing back bends anymore. I did five dolls and still have more to do, just lazy.

Oh wow! Thank you for the tip, but that sounds way beyond my ability! Also slightly terrifying.

@takatsuki 20 is very impressive! I started my Mama Chapp collection years ago and had to use Yahoo Japan and a proxy. That was a pain. Mandarake was a total game changer! I have 10 now, 3 boys and 7 girls. I bought my most recent boy at the end of December. These were my first dolls from Japan and I am so impressed with the quality and craftsmanship. Some of mine are over 10 years old and look like they are brand new.

i've had my lucky star girls since the early 2010s when they were affordable and somewhat abundant on mandarake lol

they've moved all across the country with me and have been neglected at times, so i finally decided to give them new bodies! kagami is still on her original obitsu body while the other girls are already sporting the v.2 bodies. i think it suits them well ^o^
