Rei Ayanami. The begining (help/Advice wanted!)

Hi everyone!

 

I am planning on making a dollfie dream Rei Ayanami from Evangelion and since she will be over £800 to get her official doll I am planing on "making" her my self. I plan on getting a DD white body which will be easy to find but the head is another story...

 

The head is the SQ06 unpainted head ( http://www.sqlabdolls.com/xe/index.php?mid=doll&page=1&dobleepent_srl=139 ) I will be getting her in white skin.

I wanted to find out if anyone has ordered from SQ lab before that are in the uk or europe?

 

Then I plan on getting a white DD body =)

Not too sure about sqlabs but I was wondering if you realized that the official Rei made by Volks shares the same head as default Aoi so you could just buy the blank 02 head for this

Well, yes and no

 

Volks made TWO Rei DDs and while the first actually shares the 02 head,

the imho much better second version has totally different headmold.

And unfortunately very limited. She was released together with DD Asuka.

Well yes I realize this but that wasn't my point I just wanted to help about available head molds since the thread was about making a Rei rather than buying a limited one

Ooh, I'm liking this SQ Labs Wakana idea. The second faceup SQ Labs shows actually reminds me of Vispo's Rei, which so far has been my favorite doll interpretation of Rei, purely visually speaking. So I'm interested in seeing how your project turns out, because it could be a much more practical approach to her than tracking down Vispo's lovely but hard to find and oddly sized Rei.

I have not ordered from SQ-Lab myself, nor am I in Europe, but I have read many good things about it. I'm hoping someone can give you the type of response you are looking for specifically though.

With the Aoi head I have her and I just dont see Rei when I look at her.. and with the "maid" rei I would love to have her and it would be perfect since my fiance has Asuka but the truth is I wouldnt be able to afford her =( I have seen two and they have been about £800+ and have gone with in the day so really unless I get rich and she comes up again I wont be getting her any time.

 

this head from SQlab I think just has the shape of Rei more then the Aoi.

 

and @Arienette thank you I will want the head in white so she will be a bit more relistic.

I like your idea of the SQ Lab head, I think it suits Rei. Good luck with your gal and I hope you post pics soon!

I dunno, I think the 02 makes for a good Rei. It was my first choice (in white skin) for my own custom rei

Then again, I had my DD Asuka's faceup changed because I felt the default didn't suit her.

I see what you mean but I just can't see she there 100% just me I gess XD
