Doll Party 27 Part 1 - Volks

Sharing pictures I took last Sunday at Doll Part 27. Splitting this up into a few posts to make loading friendlier for those on lower download speeds. While these are mostly DD centric due to my tastes, there will be some off-topic-ness in some pictures.

 

First up is the Volks stuff. I'd purposely skipped queuing for the limited dolls (trying for Rise through Volks USA and KL instead) and the outfits (only had interest in one outfit) and just went into the general line.

 

The Dolpa took up the East Hall of the Tokyo Big Sight. Volks had displays of the new dolls at one end. Here you see people milling about the DD section:

 

 

Close up, they had a Touhou display centered on Cirno. They had two of her, one in each outfit plus the three earlier releases.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Next was Rise's display. They had two of her: with and without the infamous glasses:

 

 

 

 

The third was the Shining Blade display focused on Sakuya:

 

 

 

 

 

They, of course, also had displays of all the resins which I'm not including here.

 

Rounding the corner, they had a display showing all the new clothing and other items. I captured several of them, but not all:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Behind all this, they had the store selling the new items and clothes. Once the people who queued for them in the morning were done, it was open up to anyone. I actually managed to get the one outfit that I had a real interest in (the pink nurse outfit).

 

They also had various activities throughout the day. Most of them I didn't participate in due to my lack of understanding the logistics or just general disinterest. Some were:

- Selling of grab bags

- Drawings for various items

- One of a kind auctions (didn't see any DDS in there)

I did participate in the bingo game, but failed miserably. Still need 3-4 to win when they were already up to about 20 winners.

 

One thing that I really like was that they had a lot of nice photo sets for people to take pictures with. Here are several that I caught empty:

Wow, that's really neat~ Thank you for sharing pictures! I really like the nurse's office photo space. I kind of want to make my own! X3

All of the new girls look really cute. That must have been really awesome getting to see them on display.

 

I'm loving that doctor and nurse outfits. I knew I would like to have them, but after seeing your pics of them makes me want them more. =3

 

Also all the photo spaces look really incredible, that doctor office is just too cute! ^_^

Thanks so much for the pics of this event! I've never been to one so seeing what things look like in there and how things are one is really great to hear about and see.

 

The photo op areas were really cool! A whole tennis court setup? DAMN. Doctors office? HOLY CRAP. Could you get any more awesome?

 

Cirno is really adorable. I sure wish I had the cash for one, she's way cute.

The dolls are all discreetly attached to their displays to help deter would-be thieves, not to mention there's volks staff keeping an eye on everything so that people don't get too close over the rope barricades that are set up.

Not to mention it's Japan and stealing is quite rare. ^^;

There was a booth at one side of the hall where you could sign up to use the photo spaces. It was near where the limited doll pickup area was.

 

You'd then be issued a slip of paper with the number of the photo space (there were so many different ones!) and a 30min time slot to use it. You'd be free to use the props that were set up there.

Ah. Good to know. I probably would've just started using a free one since I didn't know better. Hmmm...on second thought, damn you for telling me so that I can't play the ignorant gaijin card if I go again
