MarQ Posted April 17, 2019 (edited) For your info: A couple of days I wrote an email to the VOLKS support: "... Could you please tell me how I can identify if it’s a original VOLKS doll or the copy from China. ..." Today I got a reply from VOLKS: " ... The counterfeit products are made really diversify these days. Therefore, it might cause more disadvantage for our customers by notifying the difference between the original and copied products officially. As a result, we would like to refrain from notifying the way to distinguish the counterfeit products, we kindly ask for your understanding. ..." So they don't tell their customers, and I would say I'm a good customer who spend thousands of Yen at VOLKS cause I do love their dollfies, how to identify a fake product. My personal opinion is that this is the wrong strategy. In other words it's like "Buy direct from us an you will get an original. Everything else is not our problem." cfx Posted April 17, 2019 I understand what they're saying though. If they come out and say the counterfeits can be identified by <thing A> <thing B> and <thing C>, the counterfeiters can then just change those things and then the ways to identify are wrong. That even assumes all the counterfeit dolls are the same; right now they probably are but that may not continue.
