1/3 SD clothing fits DD?

Recommended Posts

Mikuo_Hatsune

Hello all

I bought Lagla DD from Mandarake

http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/item_s-892342.html

I was wondering if 1/3 SD clothes will fit her?

particulary these from Alices Collection

http://www.alicescollections.com/ww003-black-p-44.html?cPath=3_17&zenid=e41fb1778f38058eb0ea87c9d95b4e9c

also plan on changing her head(as I wanted to create Alicia Melchiott from Valkyria Chronicles), but thats another story for later

It should fit DD girls, because SD clothes normally do.

However, I cannot promise it will fit perfectly, because it isn't made especially for DD.

SD clothing does fit DDs, but you need to keep in mind that DD and SD dimensions are a bit different. DDs have smaller waists, and for shoes, smaller feet. Tops will work fine, just the bigger the bust your girl has the better I've found. Also, for anything that sits on the hips, like skirts or pants, the waist bit will be too wide. It probably won't fall off your doll's hips, but it's preferable you pick outfits that the top piece covers over the top of bottom piece at least a little so no one will see that it's loose fitting. For shoes, SDs have longer feet than DDs. If you're wearing boots or something that cover the whole foot, you won't see it so it won't be a problem. It's probably more of a problem for sandals or high heels or something that doesn't cover the whole foot.

I don't own any Alice Collections stuff, so I can't tell you exact fits. But this is what I've found for stuff that says it's meant to fit SD.

Are you ready to rock? ^_^

Actually, I've heard from several people that it's possible to e-mail Alice's Collections with the doll's measurements and get things custom made. Haven't tried it yet myself (no monies, woo), but as I recall Kymaera had at least one thing made for his L bust DDII girl.

And by the way, congrats!

This works with a fair amount of their outfits. Some have static sizes, while others have the option to be tailored.

I've actually had a few of their outfits custom tailored to fit differing DD shapes, with great results.

This outfit was designed for SD17 sized Boys, I asked them to tailor it to specifically fit DD L bust. The results are amazing.

I also had them tailor 2 of their Christmas Santa Bunny outfits to fit up to a DDDy.

21 DD girls: Mio, Marina, Yui, Yoko, Nia, Lily, Arisu, Akina, Momo, Arisa, Yukina, Ayaka, Niimi, Eri, Millefeuille, Ekisu, Chitose, Miyabi, KOS-MOS v.4, Hatsune Miku and God Eater Alisa. 2B in a hopeful future.

Big fluffy SD dresses on DD's:

A Noix de Rome Suiseiseki look a like.

yukino00.jpg

It has a rubberband at the waist for the lower part of the skirt so its not a problem in this sense, but I had to add a rubberband to the vest to pinch it up a little.

Despite having a rubberband in the top of the pants, this is probably the biggest problem area with using SD clothes on DD's. You could always pad up the waist by making a piece of fluffy cloth, like some japanese bloggers do to even out the waist for Yukata/kimono line's.

Volks SD13 Suigintou outfit

For ginto I had to do a small nip and tuck at the waist by adding another snap besides the factory placed one to tighten the waist line up a bit. The wings droop down a little bit because of this.

The tights are a bit of a stretch fit because the DD has longer legs, but oddly enough, since the DD torso is shorter than the SD one, overall it looks a little better because this means the underskirt that puffs it all up is higher up on a DD, and it gives it much more of a upside down tulip effect.

The dress I bought from Alice's Collections was too loose at the bust (My girl is a size M) and at the waist as well. I had to add a few extra stitches there and now it fits very well!

I didn't dare to try on the skirt and pants as my doll doesn't have a body stocking yet >_>

I hope it's okay asking this question here...

Is there anyone who has experiences with the SD13-sized dresses from Cheerydoll.com? Especially with the "special dresses" (=> European dresses) of them?

The azone clothes fit the DDS body. I have a azone skirt and top that fit my Moka.

What chest size does your doll use? I'm having problems with mine, most probably because my doll is using M size and I bought a strapless dress. If you're using DDy, I'm pretty sure the fit should be about right!

However, I think DDs have slimmer waists than 1/3 SDs? Unless the dress I bought was supposed to be loose around the waist, I felt that I needed to add a few extra stitches to make the dress more fitting.

It's not the best example, but here are some pictures anyway:

Another outfit I bought had a red tartan pattern skirt and tie with a white blouse which I tried on. It's a litttle loose at the shoulders but nothing bad enough to make me want to fit it as well.

The DDs do have slimmer waists than SDs, so all clothes designed with SD in mind will be slightly loose around the waist on Dollfie Dream. This is usually not a problem though, at least for official Volks clothing because it's tailored so well (can't tell in photos). In fact, some of my favorite outfits have been marketed by Volks as SD-only, but they still work wonderfully with DDs. For example, Gothic Witch Alice and the Victorique de Blois default outfit.

The same is true of shoes, too, by the way. SDs have slightly larger feet, so depending on the fit of the shoe it may be a bit large on DD. Shoes are more hit or miss than clothes in my experience, but still many of the SD shoes will work well.

I do hope the dollmore SD clothes do fit the DDS body due to l'v bought Moka a pair of pants and long t-shirt also bought a pair of shoes as well.

Well today l got the stuff in the mail and here is Moka trying on the pair of pants also the shoes fit her. The shirt is too big on her.

So far I have 1 pair of jeans that don't fit very well and a pair of shoes that are about 0.3-0.4cm too big (should be all right with tissue at the front I suppose, it's a closed toe shoe)

I've not bought anything from the Volks store yet due to price but some of their outfits are really nice. So far most of my outfits and all of my wigs come from Happy Camille. Their shipping charges are pretty cheap and their stuff is cheap as well :x
