Leekeworld wig event from DDE [New 03/13]

I got my wigs today as well! I apologize for the picture quality, I just took quick pics with my phone.

 

 

lol I apologize for the bodyless photo, but Erio's body is currently elsewhere and this wig suits her way better than Peach.

 

This picture is terrible, I'm sorry. It looks much better in person, but I'm going to cut bangs into this one later on. There was no part when I opened the package so it was difficult to move all of the hair to one side :/

 

I'm really on the fence on this one..

 

This one is not my style at all. So if anyone would like to trade/buy it go ahead and message me

Ok..so I have to post my grab bag to tempt PC and the other fence-sitters

 

I enlisted Fred as a quite unwilling subject, so any messiness on the hair style are due to her squirming and not my lack of energy after a long day. Honest!

 

First out of the box was this number:

 

I think this would look awesome on Caitlin or Saber. It looks like a default Saber Alter with her hair down. Not bad. Off to a good start.

 

Rummage around in the box and next we get:

 

This actually wouldn't be a bad style for Fred with her hair up, but not a color for her. This might work for M, though.

 

Third time the charm?

 

 

Uh...not exactly. I had high hopes when I saw the color..might have worked for Zoe, but a bit messy style.

 

Hopefully the next is an improvement:

 

It's a cute wig, but Fred doesn't like cute. She was quite visibly squirming to get out of this. Maybe Aya would wear this one.

 

And for the final wig, will we go out with a bang or a whimper?

This is my favorite of the batch. It looks great on Fred, though it might mellow her out a bit.

 

All in all, I think I got a good deal. Need to try the wigs on various girls to see how they work out, but think I got some nice ones for the price.

As for the blue wig...I have the same one in a brown tone and it only seems to work on my Rose

I can totally see this on Zoe, actually, especially if you put the part a bit off center. She pulls off "messy" really well, and the part would let her inflict her full-strength death glare.

Yeah, Aya would look nice in this. Though I dare you to put it on M just to see what happens. I'm curious how it would look on Yuki, but I'm not sure if it'd fit her bigger noggin.

Yeah, the color is super bright and nice, I just don't like the style :/

The tag says style: MR-082 but I can't seem to find anything on their website with that style

You can't find out before you order. It's like mandarake you place your order and then they will invoice you inc shipping cost when they have calculated it

No way! I totally have to score one of these!

welp - no more shopping for me! Just snagged some. I went with 8-9 only because most 9-10 are big and comfy but then *too* big even with a wigcap and silicone cap you tilt the girl backwards and whooop! her hair flies off lol and any with bangs are usually just too long (and i'm a terrible hair dresser/wig cutter.. -__-). The previous ones I've got from Leeke were 8-9. Denver doll lists the wigs at 9-10 but Leeke only does 9.5-10.5. /shrug either way, cheap wigs!! yaaaay!

 

 

If anyone gets a long version of Spring Mint (or heck maybe a short style I dunno, but that's not wavy) and they maybe want to trade keep me in mind. Yune's HappyCamile wig is a great color but terrible fibers... and she wants a change.. XD

Please note I didn't even really attempt to style this one. The color is lovely but I have no idea what kind of black magic they worked to make that style stay. And it has curls. Nobody in this house does curls. This one isn't staying.

This one is a pretty green - it matches Anri's eyebrows. It styles easily, only took me a little combing to get it to settle down. If it was longer I'd consider keeping it, but nobody here wears short styles.

aaah so pretty This one is easily my favorite out of the batch - it's soooo soft and only requires a couple of strokes with a comb to neaten up. The bow and the pink are a tad girly for anyone here, but I just love the blonde and the overall length. Isn't it sweet?

I adore the color, but the curly twin-tail style doesn't work on any of my girls. That said, it's another nice, soft wign and easy enough to get the curls back into place. Not that I tried, obviously

...Curls. Why did it have to be curls? If it wasn't so curly I'd keep it, but I don't trust myself to straighten it without setting something on fire. It seems a bit stiffer than the others, but that may just be the mounds of curls causing it.

Another one of those "if it was longer, I'd keep it" - because I love the dark color. It's near-perfect for a girl I'm working on. Another very soft wig with no fussiness.

 

Overall, not much I'm thrilled with in this batch - but at $10 a wig, it's hard to go wrong. Definitely going to pick up a couple more grab bags next chance I get.

Straightening out Leeke wigs is really pretty easy - and usually you can just blow dry the wigs straight by just adjusting the direction of the air/heat from the dyer and it will start to flatten itself out. I usually give them a gentle wash. I noticed with curly styles the ends tend to be kinda of rough once you straighten them (probably also due to just brushing) but you can trim those up pretty easy too.

 

Leeke's curls are always really crunchy, which personally I'm not a fan of - esp when it can be hard to get all those stray hairs to stay in place lol. that blonde peach wig is just darling though : )

I might give it a try, then, once I get a day off of work to do so - and now you have me wanting to try my hair straightener out on the funky blue one. I usually like most of Leeke's styles, but I have no idea what they were thinking with that one.

I've got a Ocean blue one that was nothing but curls that I straightened enough just to put on the MP (but it's on hold now for a potential trade). if its a thick wig expect it taking just a bit b/c there's so much hair to get arrow straight lol but once you do it looks sooooo pretty
