How to Cut the head

Hi!!

Some heads of my girls, have a few cuts in the vinyl to open easier when you change the eyes.

I wonder if there is a tutorial that explains how to cut and with tools I've to use.

With my DDH-02 head (old version), i cut the head cap like this. http://site.volksusa.com/sumikatimes/2010/01/07/dd-head-04-1st/

But it's not required anymore with the soft head caps.

I used the instructions on the Volks USA Sumika Times blog to notch the headcaps on a few of my non-limited girls.

I think it really depends on the head. My MDD Médée's head (a HDD-01) is really hard to open, even with notches in the head cap, but my DD Shino (from around 2008) doesn't give me much trouble at all.

 

I find that for the new soft vinyl (everything from Neris & Airy onwards) it's not necessary at all to notch the headcaps.

I've only 3 soft headcaps, but Rin and Beato are so hard to open! I've to think better before cut them >_<
