Specifically LA Evil Deity Girl Cthulhu.

How can I resist doing her as a DD?

I think I'm going to use an 04, and it will obviously have to be modded. But oh my goodness it will be fun!

I personally suggest you another head mold, like SQ labs Haruka with modded eyes.

What a cute project, though! Those hairclips...

Those hairclips remind me of the brain slugs from Futurama. This whole idea seems awesome to me, although I do imagine something much darker with Cthulhu's name involved.

21 DD girls: Mio, Marina, Yui, Yoko, Nia, Lily, Arisu, Akina, Momo, Arisa, Yukina, Ayaka, Niimi, Eri, Millefeuille, Ekisu, Chitose, Miyabi, KOS-MOS v.4, Hatsune Miku and God Eater Alisa. 2B in a hopeful future.

Maybe this is "Cute-thulu".

Seeing her em-big-en-ated will be cool, though I agree with Bellatrix that there are other heads that will probably correlate better to the original faceup. An 03 with a modded mouth was the first thing to come to mind, then Mariko and Sakuno. From SQ Labs, Hibiki and Ren look like good matches to me. Of course, there's nothing wrong with picking a head you like and then ascribing a personality to it later, but considering others doesn't hurt either.

Hibiki looks perfect to me :3

How well does resin sand off though? I know you have to use a mask because it will damage your lungs, but for something like making a flat surface for the mouth, how well does it paint afterwards?

From looking at a lot of modding threads on DoA, I'd say resin sands quite nicely, so long as you have a fine grit to finish off with. From what I've read, I'd say something along the lines of 200-300 for the rough sanding, and 450-500 for the fine finishing. Do get wet-dry type sandpaper though; if you wet sand, each piece of sandpaper lasts much longer, and it keeps the dust levels lower. (I actually had a sculpture teacher tell me once, "If you can get it wet, wet sand it!" It's turned out to be good advice.) As for painting afterwards, at least in photos, there are definitely good sanded mods where you can't even tell it was sanded. (This being for normal and white skin dolls. That does *not* hold true for most tans!)
