Besides Dollfie Dreams what anime stuff do you collect?

I honestly don't understand how they think it makes business sense to continue with that though. If they reduced the price and included a small selection of other languages subtitles, no one would ever bother waiting for a local release in their region. Sure, it would destroy companies like Funimation and that would be unfortunate, but even if we ended up paying just a little bit extra, it would be good for the anime community as a whole.

The thing is, japanese release companies are highly unwilling to drop their prices, because of their price cartell in their homeland, as some call it. The pricing model isnt really based on shifting a lot of product, just enough product to make it worth the while.

You only have to look at how Aniplex is handling US distribution to see how they expect to get money out of anime consumers, they first did a tryout with a Baccano bluray set at the same prices as other US distributors, which was pretty good, untill you noticed they were selling the identical set in japan for ten times that, you dont have to guess where the japanese started to go get their disk set.

After this aniplex has been pricing their stuff in the states almost the same as in japan, and they are not expecting to sell boatloads, just enough. And distributors are given a bit of a nono about shipping stuff back to japan. Not to mention telling US distributors not to do hidef releases of some more quirky titles.

Now they are keeping the more quirky titles to themseleves (although im a bit amused manga-ent got madoka in the UK, and are selling the whole set for peanuts compared to aniplex-jp/us), and going as they see fit... and people pay if the want the items, im proof, since I got the madoka, and now Bakemonogatari sets off them.

This is slightly biased based on my country of origin, no doubt, but if you want anime at a good price you should buy from Australian distributors. Madman Entertainment has pretty much the most comprehensive range of anime of ANY distributor anywhere on the planet, and Siren Visual have been licensing and releasing a lot of series months before they're available anywhere else outside of Japan. We also have Hanabee who have licenced Bakemonogatari and will be releasing it at standard prices here, about AU$50-60 per half season. Between the different distributors we get almost every series of any acclaim, although there are a few holes in niche genres and older series.

In terms of release dates, Madman is usually only a month behind US releases, Siren is usually 3-6 months ahead of US releases (subtitle only releases, their dubbed releases are about the same time frame as Madman). Hanabee haven't been around long enough yet to really make a statement.

Like I said before, Japanese companies have to be losing money hand over fist by failing to capitalise on their popularity. I know I would be importing anime from overseas if I lived in Japan.

Madman Entertainment

I am aware of madman ent, and have one of their releases (saikano, which Im not terribly impressed with at the moment, widescreen in a 4:3 video stream ... but it is an old thing afterall). As far as I recall they do rebadged Funimation releases, hence the slight delay.

Although what I didnt realize that Australia was in B-region concerning Blurays... thaught they were C .. d'oh. Will have to consider hanabee for some items thats been out of stock for awhile in america now.

Although im not 100% sure did australian companies fall under much more strict export rules ... I recall trying to get visual material for a anime magazine article from madman and they said they couldnt provide such for out of australia folks.

Might have to experiment one day.

Manga ent and Bee'z in the uk are not that worse off concerning general catalogue (add in free shipping from amazon as a bonus), its just more of a case of having somekind of voodoo pre-emptive vision of do they get a licence or not (though its looking like B-region isnt seen as a big enough headache to deny licences or go at it themselves).

For instance the thing with madoka was only after I had gotten the final american limited release (the OST was the only thing that justified the higher price for me) that word popped up of Manga doing a complete set for less than what one normal edition of the NA set.

The only big deal is having to watch out for disc count, as they seem to like cram more stuff onto bluray discs than american distributors.

Nice figure collection. One thing though... Needs more Sheryl and less Ranka

I don't think I've seen a collection with so many non-mecha Gundam Models before.

Outside of DD's I have a small Nendoroid collection, though I've been debating letting them go to gain some precious space inside my apartment.

Hm, I don't have too much anime stuff but:

Animerica Magazines. My sister and I first subscribed when I was in 4th/5th grade and got them until the magazine ended or changed or something.

Manga. When Borders (a bookstore) still open, I'd love going to the manga section and getting a new book to read or multiple volumes. My largest manga collection (which isn't even large) includes After School Nightmare, Air Gear (Ringo is my second waifu), and Naruto.

Plushies. I love stuffed animals My favorite being the Aigis my boyfriend got me and the Mudkip + Mew my best friend got me .

At one point I wanted to start collection little figures like those Trading Arts FF figures, but that never worked out. I would love to get Fran and Ashe figures though. My favorite figure is one my boyfriend got me of Alicia Florence with president Aria

Other than that I try not to spend money on anime things

Rise - Rise // Rise #2 - Rise // Ritsuko - 2B // Momo - M.O.M.O. // Nayuki -Mikuru // Romi - 09 // Makoto - Sailor Jupiter // Mikasa - DD07 (WIP)
Waiting on: DDH-25 for custom Akechi 🥰

Well I collect figures and in recent years anime cels. I specifically collect Asuka from Evangelion so getting the Asuka dollfie dream was really the icing to my collection as I own around 120 figures of her. I just cannot get enough of that fiery red head. I'd really like to create a collection of her outfits for my dd, I have made the uniform so far but hope to get around to making more.

My F/SN Nendos (and Figmas) are displayed with the rest of my F/SN collection. I've got a few others, like Erio and Taiga, packed away to to space constraints.

I collect anime figures as well, especially nendoroids. ; n ; They're just too cute to resist. Unfortunately they release too many "DO WANTS" so my apartment is getting pretty crowded....orz

I mainly focus on collecting Love plus, Professor Layton and Gunslinger girl goodies, since I have a bit too many feels for them.

I collect mainly anime figures, Hot Toys, and Medicom RAH Kamen Riders. Anime figure wise, mostly PVC and Nendoroids. I used to collect Figma and Revoltech too, but I decided to cut back on those and only get a select few. I also started cutting back on PVC figures as well, but I still end up grabbing a lot of them.

I actually used to sell anime figures, and that didn't really help my wallet. Whenever I made orders, I would go down the list and be like, one for the store, one for me. lol

I've lost track of how many of each type of figures I've bought. Way too many, but I just can't resist! I only have a few displayed, because I just don't have enough space to properly display them all. So I just have these big boxes stuffed with figures inside all over the place! The newest Nendoroids I picked up were 2 each of the Santa Miku and Jumbo Miku though.

I think the last time I counted my Hot Toys, I had well over 70 unique pieces and several doubles.

I collect a few other things, but just thinking about how much I spent on all of it gives me a headache. lol

I mainly collect Figma and Revoltech figures. I've got a Chogokin Saber, as well as a few PVC statues and BOME statues.

I've got quite a few figures/statues of Saber, but I would like to collect some Gundam stuff as well. Kinda difficult when they don't really make any good figures of Cagalli from Gundam Seed/Destiny.

I've also got all the Initial D DVD's except the latest season and the live-action movie.

I used to be really into resin model kits and Nendoroid, but I kept wondering where I would display them (thinking about it, moving on to collecting dolls instead makes pretty much zero sense since they tend to take up more room).

That said, aside from DDs, I am really enjoying Azone's Pure Neemo line. They are super adorable and super portable. The quality of their clothing is amazing, and they tend to include lots of separate pieces allowing for the owner to mix and match. On top of all this, Azone continues to improve on their bodies (the new ex-cute body is awesome) and continues to release cute new outfits and other great stuff every month! I love it...my wallet, not so much.

Oh-! Their hair brushes out well too! I tend to store them in a cloth bag when I travel, and I have managed to not have their hair turn into a tangle-ball!

I collect a lot of anime figures and related merchandise (cups, straps, etc.)

I am also trying to complete an entire Byakuya Kuchiki (Bleach) merchandise collection. There are a few special items I haven't been able to get my hands on yet, but it's fairly large already.

now i may still be short money wise from starting a proper dollfie collection, but i "do" however collect something.

dont ask me why, but i collect vintage and foreign soda bottles. im not sure why... i just like bottles...

there is no such thing as perfection. and i can only hope, with all my might that no such thing ever does exsist. kind of implies a limit to how amazing a person can be or something like that.....

Aside from Dollfie Dream I collect a variety of other anime figures ranging from scaled figures, figma, nendoroids and gashapon and a few resin models and gundam models mostly from Wing and SEED/SEED Destiny.

A small portion of my collection contains the Beat Angel Escalayer figures which is why when I saw that she had a doll I had to try for it as well.

Another larger portion of my collection contains anything from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya I could get my hands on.

I just joined MFC so when I start building my list I will update on what my collection actually contains. But that will take awhile because I bought a lot of figures before I got into Dollfie Dream collecting and never took any real inventory of what I actually purchased.
