Kara Jor-L aka Power Girl

I finished her face-up a week ago and got her eyes in a couple of days ago, but I wanted to wait for her wig before I uploaded anything. I got home this evening from and overnight work trip to find her wig waiting for me. So here she is. Sorry she doesn't have a body yet. Volks is taking entirely too long to restock them lol.

 

 

 

Her wig is a faux fur wig I got off ebay for less than it costs just to ship on from Volks lol. And everything I used for her face-up came from walmart...except for the Mr. Whatshisname.

It really sucks that Volks has no bodies to ffer anyone right now. I know you must be really wanting one bad since your girl looks to be all ready for one! Since she is Powergirl, will you go for a DDdy body? Or go for a DDII with the L-bust? Most drawings I've seen of her look like she's very curvy.

 

Congrats on getting your girl all done up tho, she's looking pretty good. The wig seems to match up really well too.

Yeah I was going with the DDdy from the beginning. I was going to make Revy from Black Lagoon but then I saw some girl on here's blog about the mock up of the new Bishoujo Power Girl Statue. Like all the bishoujo statues it had an anime look, which made me think, why not make my DD Power Girl lol. I had to order new eyes since Revy had brown eyes. The 22 mm were too big anyway though.

 

Yeah it's pretty frustrating having to wait for Volks...gives me too much time to think of new characters and plan more purchases lol. Plus, it's not fun to "play" with just a head lol. And worst of all, no body means I can't start on her costume yet. I did however get her some toys. She'll have a TF Prime Arcee and Breakdown...once she has hands to hold them lol. Ok, I'm done rambling.

Definitely looking forward to seeing her with a body, and pictures taken with a little more light to make things a little easier to see.

You're getting her a cat right?

yeah sorry about the picture quality lol. I used my cell phone b/c I don't have a camera of my own. I turned on our track lights which are pretty bright, but when I had her facing them there was like a glare.

 

Well if I do get her a cat, it won't be a real one. We have one cat already and one is enough lol. I almost got her a pet snivy (pokemon) last night though. But after emptying my wallet at a local comic con, I had to choose and well...the Watchmen Kubricks won lol. Sorry Kara. Course I'm just assuming she'll like Pokemon like me. I'll have to ask her when she gets a body, b/c I'm not talking to a disembodied head.

If so, you did a very good job on the eyebrow shape! I also think your wig choice is accurate as well~ Very nice faceup. I hope that she can have a body soon. Volks needs to restock! xD

She is lovely even as just a head. I hope she can get a body soon. You are right that Volks is taking a really long time and giving us too much time to make too many plans.

Interested in seeing the final result. I take it that you're going with the classic costume instead of the newer from your boob window comment?

Yeah I like the original costume better. The new one from Worlds' Finest...just sucks lol. Plus the book just doesn't do it for me either. First single issue that I've started reading and never finished. I just hate the way DC has been caving to the political correctness lately. I don't see why the "boob window" is so offensive/demeaning to women. I think it adds to her spunky/funny character. Like when Superman asked her why she just had a hole in her uniform she said she just hadn't thought of a logo yet so she just left it open lol.
