littlebearries Posted June 21, 2012 Here in America, we're coming up on the 4th of July... the day when we take National pride in celebrating the birth of our country! How do YOUR girls celebrate their homeland?! I will be leaving this post up as a sticky for the ENTIRE YEAR... during which time, if your country has any fun, amazing, spectacular events celebrating its heritage, you are strongly encouraged to share pictures here! How do your girls celebrate? ~These can be posed pictures of your girls in traditional outfits, or with holiday props (for the 4th of July, sparklers, noisemakers, anything red, white and blue, ... these are all "props"), or playing holiday games How do the people you know celebrate? ~Such as... here in the US... on the 4th of July, there are lots of fireworks... and it might not be so easy to get a picture of a DD girl AND fireworks together... so not every picture in this thread has to have a DD girl in it, but it DOES have to show some aspect of how you celebrate your holiday! When posting pictures, I ask you to please follow one rule: Tell us what National Holiday you're celebrating! I hope everyone has fun with this... sharing pictures of how you celebrate your country! Soccer almost feels like an unofficial holiday in Europe. So I think it fits. Are you ready to rock? ^_^
littlebearries Posted July 2, 2012 I think it fits too... anything that shows off your National Pride works XD I think these photos are just great!!
Tieren Posted July 2, 2012 July 1, 2012 is Canada's 145th birthday. To commemorate, this year I decided to sew a Canada shirt for Yuki. She was a bit anxious about posing in the outfit at first, but she quickly got right into it.
SisterKyoya Posted July 3, 2012 Yuki looks so cute, especially the first pic! I hope she had fun. Do Canadians do anything special to celebrate? In the US that there is usually lots of picknics, BBQs and fireworks on the the Fourth of July, so is it about the same for Canada's Birthday? Tamayuki wanted to say happy birthday to Canada, and hopes they get lots of ice cream and neat presents. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

In the US that there is usually lots of picknics, BBQs and fireworks on the the Fourth of July, so is it about the same for Canada's Birthday? Its pretty much the same. Some people get together for BBQs and most people travel to cottages or camp sites. There is usually fireworks on Canada day, but some people like to light them off all week long ^^

Jezrah Posted July 8, 2012 I took Akira around with me on the Fourth dressed in red and white with blue hair Here are a few pictures. These were at my husband's family farm, where we had a cook out. His grandma loves dolls, but seemed kind of hesitant about her blue hair Sorry for the thumb in this one, it was crowded and hard to get it at all.

You should try to get a picture of original Saber like that sometime. The Saber Lily one is great, but come on. That's Saber's home country! misskale Posted July 14, 2012 You should try to get a picture of original Saber like that sometime. The Saber Lily one is great, but come on. That's Saber's home country! I thought Saber and Saber Lily were "technically" the same one.
SisterKyoya Posted July 26, 2012 Sorry I'm a little late on this one, I have been insanely busy and I'm absent minded as it is... So here are a couple of pictures from our 4th of July: Tamayuki: "We had a BBQ on the 4th of July and watched fireworks from our back yard. I have Harry's invisibility cloak because he let me borrow it because Mommy hasn't made me a coat yet. It gets kinda cold when the sun goes down, but it was fun to look at the fire and eat lots of yummy foods. Don't worry about me getting too close to the fire, Mommy made sure I didn't get too hot and she helped me cook my food on sticks. I though that it was really funny. Dolly says the invisible part of the cloak is defective because he can still see it, but when I put it over my head it works great because I can't see anyone and so they can't see me! I hope we can do this again next year for America's birthday!" Tamayuki: "Fireworks are really pretty, but lots of them are loud and scare me. Yuriko and Daddy thought the loudest ones were the best, but they are both weird like that. I think she ate a quarter of our bag of marshmallows herself, and Dolly squished his toasted marshmallow between some plain potato chips. Mommy said some people make S'mores but she doesn't like them and can't eat graham crackers. Yuriko said that she could have eaten Mommy's serving. Mommy said that if Yuriko was still that hungry, there was lots of veggies left. My favorite food was the veggie kielbasa sausages we had with pickle relish!" ~~~~~ I would have taken more photos but taking them in the dark is hard enough as it is, and we didn't have our tripod for the camera yet. Hopefully next year I'll have a chance to get some better pictures (and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that our DD will all have finished bodies by then too.) ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

I thought Saber and Saber Lily were "technically" the same one. In the fighting game she's from, yeah. But Saber Lily the doll has a completely different head mold, so it's not the same. So here are a couple of pictures from our 4th of July: At least in that picture, Dolly is under the cloak too. No wonder he can see Tamayuki! Ravendruid Posted July 26, 2012 The reflection of the firelight on Tamayuki turned out lovely! Too bad we didn't get the tripod sooner, but there's always next year. We should still have at least one more barbecue left this summer. Maybe the neighbors will still be shooting off fireworks by then. Seriously, I have no idea how anybody could still have fireworks 2-3 weeks later. I can't imagine not blowing them all up in one night. We should still have at least one more barbecue left this summer. I really wish I could have gotten some of Yuriko but I think she was too intrested in the food to care about the camera. I was mostly afraid of backing up into the fire and burning myself in my usual klutzy fashion. We could do a BBQ for Labor day since I can't go home for the parade and rodeo. Besides, that's how I grew up celebrating the end of summer! It was always really fun but everyone knew that the week after is when school started. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
