Rei and Asuka customs

I thought I'd add in a very late update so you all could see the beautiful work Hikaru has done for me!

 

Rei - a WS DDH-02 with sq-labs eyes and a Leekeworld wig

 

 

 

 

Asuka - a repainted DD Asuka headmold with sq-labs eyes. This faceup was later adjusted to give her a more determined look by changing her eyebrows a bit.

 

 

Here's her face after the change:

 

 

I will take some of my own photos of this pair when I have time - I'm secretly hoping to get a DDII in WS as a Christmas gift so she can be whole. ^_^

Thank you! I'm very happy with how they turned out. I was nervous to have a default face-up removed (in Asuka's case) but she looks SO much better now!

I'm shocked at how well Rei turned out! I feel bad having to keep her in a box while I wait for a body for her!

Wow, I am really loving your Rei! So much better than Volks second edition. Using the 02 head was the right way to go for her. Asuka is looking better than default for sure. Hikaru does it again!

It's a Leekeworld wig in the limited blue they did last winter... I can't remember the name of it, something like Cadet Blue? Mitsuki could confirm this for us.

Both heads are lovely! I like a lot them eyes and them eyebrows ^^

Really really nice job (to you for the concept and for Hikaru for the make-up XD)

I was feeling unlazy so I pulled the link for the wig my Rei is wearing.

 

Leeke has a few others that I would like for her, but this one I thought was interesting because of how blunt and geometric the bangs/fringe looked.

I saw that one last time I was browsing leeke! I think it would work very well for Rei.

Once I have a body for Rei I'll be able to show better shots of the wig!

Thought since I have some shots of Asuka in all her glory (more or less) I'd share them. Hard to believe how much planning and thought I put into her and Rei, and how long it's taken for this to come around full circle. Asuka's in her default wig until her real carrot wigs come in from Leeke World

... I wish I had an Asuka of my own, she's my favorite anime character!

 

Some have theorized that the Natsuki/Moe sculpt is an unused Asuka head sculpt, not mention the similar hair styles.

Your Natsuki looks so much like Asuka *I* thought she was Asuka too a while back!

 

I know you would like to have an Asuka tho, she's really a great girl in my opinion.

I think it's partially the face mold difference between DD Asuka and DD Natsuki but also the custom faceup Hikaru did for me. I've been waiting for her new wigs so that I can try to get more range out of her expressions by the different angles I can take photos of.

I'm glad I have approval from a proclaimed Asuka fanboy!!! Rei was always my favourite of the two but I really liked them as a pair - plus scoring DD Asuka for 70K swayed me to really work to have both. (minus the orange eyebrows)

Thanks! I'm really happy with how her little outfit looks, and I am very excited to see her in the orangey wigs, I think they'll be a lot truer to character. ^_^
