How to use pearl shine or shimmer powder?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know a good technique for keeping the shimmer powder shiny on cheeks and eyes without using it in gloss? I blushed it on the cheeks but it dulls because of the sealant. Anyway around this to keep the shine?

Even if you put a lot (like overload) it still gets dull from the sealant? That's the only thing I can think of... >__< Hopefully someone else has another suggestion. I don't do faceups, but I saw a video on YouTube, and the artist said that she puts a lot of the shimmer powder to make it show up best.

I know that problem very well from making face-ups for BJDs, it's the same problem.

You blush it A LOT with powder and a coat of sealer makes it vanish directly.

There are only two solutions to that:

- repeat the process many many times, but this will lead to too thick sealer layers on the head, and depending on the sealer you use the head will start looking shiny or white.

That's why I usually start to apply powder from the beginning, so every step will get a layer of powder too (blushing step, acryl step etc.)

- put a lot of sealer on the head and while it's still wet and drying softly powder the shimmer on it from above, like powdered sugar on a cake.

You have to watch out that it's not too thick or else it will look blotchy...and sometimes it won't really work and you can simply wipe away the powder from the surface

Applying powder is really a pain in the ass, sadly.

I hope I could still help you though.
