SQ Lab Original Body

i'm getting some wear on the resin on my SQ labs knees at the very top. you cant see it unless you bend the knees out. and also getting some on the back of the thigh part that's hidden under her bum when the legs are fully straight.

 

is this normal or am i bending the legs in a way that's causing them to rub against each other somewhere inside?

 

It isn't unusual, since resin can wear down over time. I took an ultra fine-grit sandpaper to the seam lines on my girl and smoothed everything out that way. If you're always bending the top of the knee and having it rub on the inside of the joint, I would imagine that it will smooth down over time.

 

When I was sanding down the seam lines, I also did a light brushing on that part to round it off a bit. It lets the join move a bit smoother when opening and closing, so I didn't feel like I was grinding it whenever I moved it.

great, thanks for that explanation. i think i'll just move the joints a bit more carefully and try to minimise the rubbing until it necessitates some sanding away.

She's on the SG Body, so 50-53cm. My friend who begged to do her face-up surprised me by bringing her with the full Ranka Lee cosplay as well.

She's so cheerful and adorable! I like her "petite" body as well. Congratulations!

Anyone know if SQ is getting ready to release the new Yo-sized body? I noticed something up on their preorder page marked as "secret." Hmm...

I want other chibi heads besides those three!

They have the pre-orders up for the Yo-SD sized body now along with the two other bodies they offer! I just put in my order for the KSG-L body so excited! how long does it usually take to receive the pre-order? I think I heard it is 3 months?

I'm going to order KSG-L too!

I really wanted a WS girl and I think this size will work perfectly, I have some other WS resin gals so I can try different heads with the taller/slimmer body type

 

3 months/90 working days is pretty standard for resin wait times. If I remember right, folks who got theirs without faceups had dolls arrive much sooner during the last order period.

Heheh, thanks! I'm looking forward to getting her! I finally settled on the Tsubaki head for her, I think it'll look the best in WS. And I really like how the standard size heads look on MDD so I couldn't resist getting more... I have a serious floating head problem now

The KSG-L body looks nice... but I don't like any of the heads that SQ has in chibi form. >.>

I like the SQ Lab heads. I think they have a kind of flair to them, especially the ones with the cute little teeth. However, a lot of the mouths seem off.

 

The body seems kind of iffy to me. The breasts seem to high and the waist is quite small looking, makes her look too thin. I think it would be interesting to see the resin heads on BJD bodies though!

What size eyes fit in the mini heads? I am thinking about making some eyes while i wait for my KSG-L to arrive :3

I was trying to figure that out myself... it looks like they are wearing the normal size SQ lab eyes, so that's ~22mm, I think.

They are capable of wearing anything from 12mm-16mm, though through personal preference, I thought 14mm-16mm looked best.

Just want to share an information about KSG-L body

 

Some baggy blythe dresses fit them much better than Yo-Sd dress.

I want to get a sq-lab KSG-L body with a Tsubaki head. I found out some more info and here it is......

 

They can fit barbie dress's

There feet fit all yo-sd sized shoes

I'm still researching more info on what they can wear etc.

My KSG-L girl arrived today (Tsubaki). I ordered white skin but she's very pinky - perfect match for DD semi-white skin actually. Maybe this is the NS that matches volks resin? I don't really mind

The included eyes were way big for her- I eventually tried some 12mm and those were the best fit! But Tsubaki has the smallest eyes of the lot, it appears. YO-SD clothes are loose, even socks, but the shoes I tried fit alright.

 

Here she is with 14mm eyes, yosd clothes and shoes, and a 6-7" wig:

I did her faceup this weekend. I didn't like the pointy letter-opener nose so I reduced it to a more DD-style shape, and tried to even up the eyes a bit since the left was slightly narrower.

Blue Fairy's yo-sd size outfit fits very well. The 6-7" wig from Luts is a bit big. 14mm eyes are also too big ^_^;

Thanks, the head is a lot smaller than the standard size SQ heads. It's more similar to Volks Yo-SD size, maybe slightly smaller even. Based on my Kaoru head I'd compare like this-

SQ standard : wig 8", eye 20-22mm

SQ chibi: wig 6", eye 14-16mm

What do you think about their new body? I've just seen it in SQ Lab's Blog. It's quite similar with DD3 body and both have one size of clothes.
