otakusan Posted June 27, 2012 Short stock on DD bodies has been an ever on going issue on VOLKS' end and since the new release of DD3 and DDS which the bodies are not sold separately.. I've noticed an increasing trend of people buying DDs and selling off everything else keeping only the body. I myself has been trying to hunt down a DDS body for a head that's on it's way now... of cause not even Japanese Auctions has bodies up.. that's how in demand bodies are now. So my last resort was the attempt to pay over $400 to buy all the DDS parts to put one together. I was so happy to be able to add all needed items into shopping cart, but only to get an email back from VOLKS shortly apologizing a system glitch they had which allowed me to add an out of stock item into my cart. So here I am now, $378 later, with a bunch of parts laying around and no body. I'm like ------>THIS<------ close from buying a DDS model, box the rest up and let it sit So for everyone else... how are you handling your short body situation? Nightmare Tea Posted June 27, 2012 I've been waiting since Cirno was announced for the new MDD3's parts to be released... I'm not sure how much longer I am to wait, I think they will be out by summer's end? Summer just began...
denaliwind Posted June 27, 2012 Ugh wow, that really sucks! D: Yeah it's been really frustrating for me too.... My Yukino v.2 was suppose to have a sister body instead, but that hasn't happened yet. And now, her hip joint is broken! > Stupid DDIII cracking problems... This is her second crack, but the first one was replaced as she was still under warranty (she arrived broken). The Volks warranty is way too short! D: I already contacted Volks in hopes they could give me at least some information regarding restocks and if they'll be selling the DDIII parts separately. The told me that they had no plans at present time and to just keep checking the site... pathetic! I did respond saying it was a bummer that there were no immediate plans, there so many people with bodiless/broken Volks dolls. These guys aren't cheap and it's no fun having a broken doll that can't be fixed. I have thought about getting a doll second hand just for the body... but that's just way too much money then I can afford at the moment. :/ Now, I'm just anxiously waiting for the SQ Lab body to release so I can have that in my hands. At least then I won't have to worry about cracking... >.> YouTube! --> http://www.youtube.com/user/amsbindi1/videos LJl! --> http://denaliwind.livejournal.com/ Eyes for Sale!: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?526797-Lots-of-Anemtic-Eyes-for-Sale!-Twin-Snow-Volks-22mm

I'm not sure how much longer I am to wait, I think they will be out by summer's end? Summer just began... If your looking for a separate parts release from Volks... The DDIII body first came out a year ago and we're still waiting on a separate release of that. The DDS body took over a year I think. So your probably looking at the end of summer...2013. Volks not restocking basic items for long periods of time has been a regular thing for the 3+years I've been in this hobby. Sadly I guess, something you have to get use to with them. Misheru Posted June 28, 2012 ... That's a really frustrating thought. Especially when Volks is aware of all the cracking issues with the DDIII bodies... they should make fixing and supplying DDIII parts a priority and hustle up. They have been out of the shoulder piece for DDS both in JPN and USA for a long time as well. How long can it take to do a manufacturing run for parts? If they know there is an issue (which many of us have made it clear to them), you would think they would order a rush job of just parts. I have two girls sitting here broken and I am afraid to touch a few more. klein Posted June 28, 2012 I am currently five behind ^^; Let's see both of my Chobits customs will need bodies, my prepainted 06, my currently in the process of being customized 04 and a spare Saber Alter II head I recently picked up will all need bodies. There was a sixth head in the mix briefly but I kind of came to my senses and am passing it on to a friend that wants to get into DD. Luckily most of my DD are pretty good humored about my stealing their body for a little while. archangeli Posted June 28, 2012 I've noticed the desperation in splits lately too; and lots of Aoi & Yukino v2 heads for sale from people that bought the dolls just for the body. I have all the pieces for the DDS minus the internal shoulder frame, which has been sold out for AGES. I'm not in a huge rush for it, I just found it easier to join in a Volks GO to save shipping & customs fees. And I needed the wrist piece so that KOS-MOS could "undress" lol otherwise she'd always have black hands. chibinezumi Posted June 28, 2012 I am in the same boat, I have all the DDS parts except internal frame. At first I thought I would want many bodies for many girls, but now I find myself downsizing and spending most of my time on my 2 DDII girls. So I guess I can be patient and wait it out. But don't worry, after all the Saber madness is over with, I'm sure production of body parts and stuff will get better. It will prolly be a while for levels to get back up to where they used to be but it won't be this dry all the time. And Volks is only concerned with it's Japanese sellers and not so much with Volks US at the moment. This will probably change by next year tho as we see the Saber production being gone and them getting back on track with their normal releases. We'll see more hands and option parts by fall or early winter I'm sure. At least I hope. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. I think they do, but they could use a bit of work in the customer service to at least honestly let people know what's going on. It is very frustrating wanting to get Rainie finished and trying to save up for her body parts I don't have yet, but still knowing that there is a high chance she will still have to wait after that. Some days it feels like Rainie will be 'handicapped' forever and Naiomi will continue to be a figment of my imagination because Yuriko is not very willing to give up her body and head for an extended time until we can get her a DDdy body. Trying to get more EB Mini boys seem easier than the DD, and I bought the last 4 they had on Volks and they were discontinued 2 years ago. I don't like being a sad-sack but it's depressing knowing even if I found a way to work my tail off to save what I need, it could still be out of my reach for maybe another 6 months. Combining that with me going to school next year and it's very likely that I won't have any real time for doing anything with Rainie (let alone any of the others) until next Summer in that case. I do try very hard to be patient, but I can't say it doesn't make me sad that the next two dolls I'll be able to get is an Obitsu and a resin BJD (both boys) before I can get my DDS done that I started in Feb. For those of us newer to the hobby, it is hard to know how things will or won't change in the short-term as well as long-term, making it really rather a beast trying to plan out how to pursue our 'Dollfie Dreams'. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
vhdangel Posted June 29, 2012 This is the worst "drought" I've seen from Volks since I started reading about Dollfie Dreams almost 3 years ago. Sure, they'd run out of bodies at VolksUSA from time to time, but they'd usually be restocked within 2 months. Volks in Japan never seemed to run out. Now VolksUSA hasn't had a body in almost what... six months? And the international website hasn't restocked in at least a month and a half. It's really upsetting. There are several factors contributing to this, and I honestly think that this has created an almost "perfect storm" for Volks: 1) Judging by our community, there are 3x the number of DD owners/hobbyists now as there was 2 years ago. That means triple the demand for their products. There has been an explosion in the European market and steady gains in others. 2) They're trying to roll out a new body, so production is split between the old and the new while they work out the kinks. On top of that, their new design is full of flaws. Because of their cultural necessity to "save face", Volks won't go back to the drawing board, at least not completely (note that all of the changes on the DDIII have been made quietly). And for probably the first time, they're faced with a customer service nightmare because of all the cracks and breaks in the DDIII bodies that have been released, requiring them to send out an excessive amount of replacement parts. They're so behind that their quality control has suffered tremendously. We've seen more face-up and body part mistakes this past year than ever before. 3) The pre-order for the Sabers raked in record numbers. They received so many orders that they had to split the production run into two separate waves, AND cut it short by 5 days. This is probably due to not only all the new DD enthusiasts, but the new wave of scalpers that have become aware of the profitability of this hobby. 4) This one is specific to VolksUSA: The international community has taken notice, and found ways around their policy of not shipping outside North America. VolksUSA has consistently had the lowest prices for DD products, and with the dollar falling further and further in exchange rates, it's very enticing for non-US collectors to purchase their items there. The problem is that the yen keeps getting stronger against the dollar as well, and Volks has yet to adjust their prices to counteract that. So it's not as profitable for them to keep restocking the store in California, which may be part of the equation when they decide to send basic stock shipments. I hope they manage to get it handled soon, because their customer base is getting frustrated. I absolutely love Dollfie Dreams, but it is hard to praise and promote a company (and support it with my wallet) when they continue to not churn out basic products needed to complete their dolls. That said, I'm still ready to throw money at them in a flash, if they'd just let me have my Natsuki!!! **But I will be replacing her DDIII with a DDII.**

So it's not as profitable for them to keep restocking the store in California, which may be part of the equation when they decide to send basic stock shipments. I actually have issue with this point personally. In my opinion, the Volks USA store's purpose is to serve the North American Volks fans. But as of late a lot of folks outside of the US have been making it a point to obtain their items via Volks USA store. This adds the the shortages seen on items via the Volks USA store as of late. This is especially problematic with event items. The US store already has limit stock of items, but now the number of people competing for these items is much larger because "foreign" customers are now entering these events. This means that fans in North America trying to obtain these items have much lower chance of getting their items because these foreign customers are wanting to save money on items. I don't have issue with foreign customers having friends / relatives in US helping obtain items. But to me should be respectful that US supply of limited items is just that...limited...and that Volks USA store is getting these items for their US fanbase. You may save money but you are also screwing your fellow community members when competing in an arena. You may save money but you are also screwing your fellow community members when competing in an arena. It happens the other way around too though. People in the US buy from International when they could wait for US releases because they're impatient. This hurts the supply for people who aren't supposed to buy from VolksUSA. I also know people get some help from people in Japan to enter in the Japanese only lotteries, which hurts the Japanese supply. Are you ready to rock? ^_^
