Ultimaknight Posted June 30, 2012 It happens the other way around too though. People in the US buy from International when they could wait for US releases because they're impatient. This hurts the supply for people who aren't supposed to buy from VolksUSA. I also know people get some help from people in Japan to enter in the Japanese only lotteries, which hurts the Japanese supply. There are some US folks that do enter International / Japanese AE events, this is true. And while they do compete against those supplies, those supplies are usually far greater than the stock Volks USA receives. Not to mention those that do decide to enter those event from the US end up paying premium price for their impatience in terms of exchange rate and EMS shipping incurred to get those items. Foreign customers shopping at Volks USA are usually do so to save money. Even if have to pay "double shipping" to US address than from there to their home country address, chances are having package undervalued to avoid customs fees they are charged. But on another note, the AE events don't set a limitation on where they are shipping. Volks USA does. Personally I try to stay clear of International AE events because of the added cost. I would rather wait the 3-4 months from Japanese AE event for Volks USA. So for a fan like myself, my option is to wait for Volks USA to stock items. So yeah, I find it annoying when I am mid checkout and right when I submit my payment get message lost my shopping cart because of added traffic. Dolly Posted July 2, 2012 I will kinda be short a body when I get my Saber Extra. Of course, she comes with a body, but from the start I planned for her to have a DDS body . . . which I honestly thought would have been more readily available by now, 9+ months later. My backup plan was a normal DDII body, but it looks like even one of those may be tricky to snag now. Combined with the long wait for her, it is very discouraging. Hopefully, Volks will clear the glut of Sabers and fix their quality control issues soon. At home: Smartdoll Onward & DD Jeanne Wishing for: too many to list! blueboy57 Posted July 3, 2012 yeah this totally blows lol. I just want one body right now so I can have my first DD. I keep wanting to work on her costume, but until I have the dy body for a reference I can't start. So frustrating. I emailed Volks the other day and they said something about a production run and not knowing when it might be. Waiting sucks. Gives me too much time to think of more ways to spend my money lol. Now I wanna make X-23 in addition to my Power Girl. And wouldn't you know it...they're out of HDD-06 now too lol. Oh well, good things come to those who wait DD Family: Kara (Power Girl) HDD-02 & DDDyIII
otakusan Posted July 3, 2012 VOLKS International has DDS-BF-01 in stock now.. GO GO GO!!!!! HURRY!!! . . . And it's sold out. That was fast. I got one. Thank you Otakusan for the heads up! This will end up being one very expensive DDS body - but at least I'll have a body to put my 06 head on when she's done. Not a problem my DDS body ended up being pretty expensive too

I emailed Volks the other day and they said something about a production run and not knowing when it might be. You could ask someone to make a dressform for you, so that you could get started. Basically, it's a "duct tape dummy" that you use to fashion patterns and make clothes. It's actually better than having the doll when you are tailoring a dress, because you can pin the fabric to it. Thanks, never thought about that. It's driving me nuts having the fabric for her gloves and boots and not being able to make them. aquilla429 Posted July 4, 2012 I'm also short a couple of bodies. Saber Alter definitely needs a new body, because even when I manage to get my fullset Saber, somehow I just know I won't want to sell off my head XD Seeing that the dds body is going to soon be available in ws parts, I'm thinking of getting Alter a DDS body. I also really need a new body for Lilly, he body is so old and has been through a lot, its now yellowed and grubby, I can't use new option parts on it because the skin tone is too different. Also the body is really wobbly and floppy now, but due to the state of the rest of it I'm not bothered enough to fix it up. I'll probably put Lilly on an s bust dd2/3 ws body and keep her old body as a stain tester. DJStarstryker Posted July 5, 2012 I think the hardest part of this is going to be the transition from DDII to DDIII. I have this feeling they aren't really going to make DDIIs anymore and expect us to buy DDIIIs. The people who got DDIIIs from sellers for approximately the price of a DDII before the body shortage were lucky. DDIIIs are worth about $100 more than DDIIs were. This is why the price of DDs has increased about $100 from what they used to be from Volks ever since their limited bodies have been on DDIIIs. The days of less than $300 for bodies are going to be over, I think. DDIIIs are probably closer to worth $350. Also, I have this feeling Volks isn't going to sell put together bodies anymore. I think they expect us to buy parts (like the DDS and the upcoming parts for everything else) or buy Aoi/Yukino or buy another limited doll. Are you ready to rock? ^_^
Ara Posted July 8, 2012 How much are all the bodies worth actually right now? The DDI,II,III, the DDDys and DDS? I'm looking for a body right now (I finally want a FULL DD ;_; ) but it's even hard to open a split when you don't know how much everything is worth.
bethykins Posted July 8, 2012 DDI - $100 DDII and DDY - $210-240 DDIII - $300-330 DDS - $380 I have a gorgeous family of DD girls See my profile for a list of my beauties!!

DJStarstryker Posted July 8, 2012 DDI - $100DDII and DDY - $210-240 DDIII - $300-330 DDS - $380 I don't know about that. The DDS is about $340 if you buy all of the pieces. And the DDIIs are easily going for $300 because of the body shortage. DDys (the III version anyway) and DDIIIs will be worth closer to the sister price judging from the separate parts that are going to become available soon. Are you ready to rock? ^_^
SakuraSylph Posted July 8, 2012 How much are all the bodies worth actually right now? The DDI,II,III, the DDDys and DDS? DDI ~ $100ish (note: strung like resin) DDII, DDdy ~ $300, possibly a little more. Prices contining to go up due to body shortage. DDS ~ $340 constructed from parts DDIII, DDdy3 ~ $380 constructed from parts, per Volks News 49 Those are about what they're worth nowadays if you're trying to buy a body by itself directly from someone. If you're splitting a doll, you can sometimes get the body cheaper than those prices. In a split the doll head is what is going to be worth the most (by a significant margin), so the other pieces should be correspondingly cheaper depending on what the overall set price is. Mahoro Posted July 9, 2012 I hate to say it, but after this long with no restocks AND going into no less than 6-7 volks stores (including the Kyoto Sato location) in Japan...the obitsu50 is looking mighty attractive right now as a DDS body, as it doesn't have the joint cracking issues, replacement parts are nearly always in stock, its nearly 100$ less, and you can buy an entire body at once! Sure, its not Volks product, but it also doesn't have the Volks price and Volks' current lack of quantity and quality. And you don't have to go through a click war when the first man walks on Mars and Volks actually restocks everything :p
