Please help me finish my Canada Day outfit!

I'm working on a new DD shirt for some Canada Day photos. The red shirt I cut is not quite long enough to reach Yuki's thighs so I decided to sew on a bit extra fabric so it can reach her skirt. Last night around 1am I thought this white trim looked really good, but today the more I look at it, I keep thinking it looks really silly. Here are some photos:

I was going to take her downtown this afternoon for some photos in front of parliament but now I'm more anxious about taking her out in this outfit than taking a DD out to a crowded area.

 

What do you guys think I should do to salvage this outfit?

draw a red leaf print on it?

Since the shirt is red and black I think extending it with a black base, or a black stripe followed by a red one would look better. And just make the extensions tubes like a normal shirt rather than flared like the white would be my suggestions.

I saw you had some more red fabric, could you add that? Or maybe if she had shorts then make it a sort of cut off shirt?

Hmm I showed it to my landlady just now and she thought it was very doll-stylish.

 

Some of the things I was playing around before I sewed the white on was adding some more red, either flared or not, or a ring of black, or to just finish the shirt and show a bit of belly.
