DJStarstryker Posted August 3, 2012 I really love Sailor Moon too.. I will definitely cave if figures and nendos come out. Probably will. I suspect that's half the reason they want a new anime - for more merchandise. They certainly made a lot of merchandise for the live action Pretty Guardian Sailormoon show. Keijogirl Posted August 5, 2012 Ohmygawsh, I will tear up some figures! I would love to be able to snag some SailorMoon figures or even some little collectables. I still have a little 1.5" chibi of Sailor Saturn sitting on my jewelry box. I do kind of wonder what the art style is going to be this time around. The old style was perfect for the time back then, but I think it would look a little strange now. I think how it looks is going to be the main thing that intrigues me. DJStarstryker Posted October 30, 2012 I'm looking forward to this a lot myself. Sailor Moon was one of my first anime. Well, anime that I knew was anime. I watched some stuff before that like Voltron and Speed Racer, but I didn't realize it was different from an American cartoon other than them speaking fast (for those who don't know what I'm talking about, try to track down some old English dubs of 1970's anime). Kumi Posted October 30, 2012 I hate anime dubbing in general. It feels so out of place to me. Well, maybe except for some German dubs. They somehow managed (at least in the past when I watched anime on German tv channels) to voice it real good. To this extent, that I watched some anime in German rather than in Polish, because in my own language it was soooo bad to my ears But I'm really curious how this new show will turn out. djgamer Posted October 30, 2012 I really only watch anime in original Japanese. I feel that no one really fills the character's persona better than the original VOs. I know my fiance is watching this VERY closely. She's already having the mangas delivered to the house. I know I'm gonna be broke once the new merchandising hits shelves. DJStarstryker Posted October 30, 2012 After I realized how much the English dub version of Sailor Moon was cut, I switched to Japanese. I haven't gone back. I almost exclusively watch anime in Japanese. The exception has been Studio Ghibli movies that have made it to US theaters the past several years. The Japanese language/English subtitled showings are never near me, only the English dub ones. But Disney has done a good job dubbing those movies, so I don't have a problem with it. I watch 'em to support Ghibli releases outside of Japan. ...though, now that I'm in Japan, that isn't happening anymore. Oh well. Speaking of Sailor Moon, even though it was cheesy, I did also enjoy the live action Pretty Guardian Sailormoon show. That's the only way you can see Luna as a catgirl sailor senshi. I've never seen any of the musicals, though I've always wanted to. Are you ready to rock? ^_^
Nekopon Posted October 30, 2012 The live action Sailor Moon show is pleasantly cheesy and extremely accurate to the Anime. It's amazing considering how magical the show is. o__o I want the new figurines! And Merchandise! I want three of everything!
Eos Posted December 6, 2012 The live action Sailor Moon show is pleasantly cheesy and extremely accurate to the Anime. It's amazing considering how magical the show is. o__o Yes yes yes! The cast did an extremely awesome job depicting their characters too. I miss Kitagawa Keiko as Sailor Mars... I hope the new anime will be just as great! Amara77 Posted December 9, 2012 I'm excited about this for figures and I do wonder about DDs being made. I still have my ild dolld! However it makes me feel old when I go to the mall and sailor moon stuff in hot topic like a nostalgia thing haha but I love being able to walk out of the store with it instant gratification! I hope the dub isn't bad I started my daughter on it and I'd like her to watch the new one as well but don't know if I can take bad dubbing. Although I have to say they've been a lot better and faithful with it the past few years. http://amara77.wordpress.com blog and shop Spoke too soon.... I definitely agree with this in general, but there are specific cases where the English dubs aren't just good but are actually better than the original Japanese. Hellsing is the series that pops to mind most readily, but also Cowboy Bebop, Black Lagoon. Full Metal Panic also has a brilliant dub, and sounds so much like the Japanese that you instantly recognise the voices and they feel exactly right. But generally, I'd rather watch the original Japanese. XD Okay, now on topic... Definitely want to see more Sailor Moon. Magical Girl series are one of my guilty pleasures. Now with +/- 15% more uncertainty!
