Nightmare Tea Posted July 8, 2012 (I didn't see a thread like this made, so if there is feel free to delete) Since a lot of people (myself included) are really bad at click wars/being rushed, I figured we should make a thread of a ton of tips and tricks to help everybody! I know there are a few good ones, I just can't remember them. I think that one invovled puting an item in your cart about an hour or so before the event, filling out your information then backing out, so when you go into the click war battle, some of your information is already filled out. Is there anyone out there with good tips?
DJStarstryker Posted July 8, 2012 There is nothing else other than what you said. The fewer the things you buy the better, because there's less pages you have to reload to make the button to put it in your cart appear and therefore you can check out faster. Are you ready to rock? ^_^
SakuraSylph Posted July 9, 2012 Yup, that's pretty much it. You're trying to click the final checkout button as fast as you reasonably can, which means buying less stuff or pre-entering some information. I guess I could add that you should decide ahead of time which (and how many) items are acceptable to lose. This is so that there is no hesitation when Volks tells you you lost some items. Any hesitation will just result in you losing more, so don't stop to think about whether you still wanna place the order if you lost Item X. Have your thresholds picked out in advance. Leadcrow Posted July 9, 2012 This may sound really selfish but I gotta be honest here. It's one thing to share tips with a few close friends, but when you put em out here for potentially hundreds or more people to see you end up hurting your own chances. There are a set number of items available and this only changes who gets em, you still end up with the same number of disappointing people at the end of the day. The increasing number of people outside North America getting others to buy for them isn't really helping any either. If you try to get in on the last event you probably know how bad it's gotten. It wasn't always that bad, I think my success rate was 100% until recently. Mind you those of us in NA still have it better then most others, with more chances and potentially better prices. Just my two cents. My apologize if I sounded mean, ride or otherwise Grinch-like . I mean we do call em click WARS for a reason.
Anna-neko Posted July 9, 2012 I start looking up those outfits on Y!J ... because if [and most likely] the wars are not in my favor, at least have some idea that the outift could still be acquired ... or in some cases that just gonna have to let it go as paying king's ransom for an auction is just not worth the amount of "WANT!" I see how it would hurt the chances and all, but I just made this thread so that people new to the hobby and people who have trouble with it can get some advice to help them out. Like me, seeing as I've never done a click war before. And seeing how the MDD3 parts are going to be released, I figured it's about time to learn. All's fair in love and war, right? I'm probably going to go with Volks International though, even if it costs a bit more, it just seems so much easier!

Yea, I sure don't fault people for asking but when you put tips on an open forum you could also be helping that guy that just wants to resell em for a quick buck. I kinda remember when I first saw the tip you listed above getting talked about here. I wasn't terribly upset but I did groan a bit since I had been using it for a while already. Though the thing is, people already have been scalping! I don't think 1 thread on a not-so-much-known forum will do enough damage for a 1-way ticket to scalper city. Plus the scalpers have to go through the same bull we do! Overall I'm not that concerned of the consequences of making this thread, if there are any! Plus I'm sure a lot of people have already known/used these methods!
jadepixel Posted July 9, 2012 I've been lucky in click wars so far, but I never get greedy. I grab my one or two must-haves and check out right away. I enter for items through KL so there's less to try for at Volks. For DDS parts, I got half of them during the click war, grabbing the ones I thought would be out of stock first. Then I got the rest later in another order. Divide and conquer! jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop

I have gotten every item I wanted from "click wars," I don't particularly want to make it open to others. It sounds painfully mean, but with so few items, and those that buy items just to resell them... It makes me not want to openly state the way I have achieved what I have wanted. archangeli Posted July 9, 2012 I'm with Arienette & Leadcrow here. I won't be after anything this click war, but that doesn't mean I'm going to post my tips & screw over my own chances at getting something the next time I want something. As someone said - all is fair in love & war :p Archangeli.net | Twitter: @MsArchangeli | YouTube: Archangeli
DJStarstryker Posted July 10, 2012 And seeing how the MDD3 parts are going to be released, I figured it's about time to learn. Well, the upside for those is that all of the doll option parts are going to be regular, restocked items. They will just be available first via one of the VolksUSA click wars. If they sell out, VolksUSA will eventually get more from Japan. So you don't really need to worry about click wars for that so much. Are you ready to rock? ^_^

Waynio Posted July 24, 2012 I think this is a great thread, and it saddens me to see so much greed among people. It's not wrong to want things but to have it all while others have nothing is sad. Wayne
Amber Posted July 24, 2012 I do not believe that anything anyone has said has been about greed at all. It is not like those who do not want to share tips are scalpers, or buy more than 1 of the same outfit to keep for themselves. Whenever the supply is low, and the demand is high, it is nowhere near greedy for wanting to keep your secrets to yourself. For example, the recent event with the balloon dress set... It seemed like almost everyone wanted it, and Volks did not provide enough stock for everyone. I rarely buy any outfits from Volks because I normally do not like them. When there is one I want, I will do anything to have it. I do not feel like I should share my tips because that one time that I happen to want an item, I don't want to miss out on it because I shared my processes on a public forum. This forum can be seen by many different types of people... Good people who want things for their daughters, as well as bad people who want to buy the popular items and resell them for 200% markup. I think you misintereprted the way that people feel about it, because I did not see anyone say that they wanted everything and to leave others with nothing. I truly wish that everyone could have the outfits and any other items that they want. I blame Volks, not people who don't want to share their tips and tricks. PlasticFantastic Posted July 24, 2012 I think this is a great thread, and it saddens me to see so much greed among people. It's not wrong to want things but to have it all while others have nothing is sad. Wayne Arienette is right. What I said has absolutely nothing to do with greed. I don't buy as many of the outfits as I can and sell them for a profit. I only go after what I really truly want for myself or if a friend asks me to try for something for them. I have no problem with sharing. As Arienette said: Volks is the one who determines the stock number and also they're the ones who choose to use their current shopping cart system that forces us to all rush through checkout (unlike on the Volks international site) so if you really feel like pointing fingers try the source instead of accusing everyone for being greedy hoarders just because we don't want to share any of our tips and tricks.
