thank you Galhound! had this gut feeling that if they didn't release her for general sale later, that they would surely release a "variant" doll anyway.

 

is anyone here considering buying Misa?

 

i'm on the fence about her, it's awesome to see the J head coming back (it reminds me of BJD) but i feel like i might wish to wait for another "variant" release (assuming that is coming) etc.

 

i've also been looking at custom face-ups and mods on VMF dolls lately (i will picspam some Japanese ones i found later) and i'm torn between the idea of getting a VMF50 Mako to customize, customizing a Misa (J head), the eternal dilemma of whether i will ever buy a Miu doll or not.... or not getting any more VMFs at all right now, since i have other dolls and hobby items that may take greater priority! i still have a bunch of doll and GK projects to work on, as well as a minor customization i plan on making to Nao (i decided i wanted to change her lipstick color which should be quick and simple in theory, but i am a very well known procrastinator)

I'm very keen to see those custom faces the only

ones I've seen are Tommy's

any heads with open eyes really (no painted eye heads) -- probably either the J head (Misa, Eri) or some of the K head variants... but i might consider others. feel free to link 'em here though - i don't know if i can afford to buy any VMF heads right now unless it's a "must have" chance that's going to be gone and never come back! i also have a backlog of dolls i own (VMF and other types) that need some attention from me in the customization and care department, so a new project might be too much. still i would like to see what heads are up.

 

remember you can always look at the size chart i made, i try to keep it as up to date as possible - http://i.imgur.com/iNgFYyQ.png - Misa has the C2 bust, this bust is the same as VMF50 Miko, AP Super Sonico, and Pink Drops Miria. the torso she is using is quite a new model they introduced though, despite being listed as "C" type on their website it is different to many of the (older) C type torsos in a minor way. as i said before, their system for sorting and naming body parts can be somewhat confusing at times as not all parts with the same name are identical, so unless i made a mistake or the info on their site was wrong...yup.

 

i'll edit or doublepost those customized heads i found in a moment, since i've been wanting to share them (they're nicely done and very inspiring). not by Tommy either, although they are by a Japanese artist.

the tan skin girls they are soooo kawaii

variety is the spice of life, right? personally i'm just interested in how different the dolls can look with some light (or heavy) customization because there are only a limited amount of sculpts, and although i do like the default make-up on some of mine, i think in future i might like to have them look a little more unique.

 

totes agree with you and TomoTomo that they are very cute. like i say in the OP, the first thing i noticed about VMFs were their faces, so it's really awesome to see how the base faces can be altered to look even more eyecatching.

 

hopefully anyone who intended to buy her already had a proxy ready, because Misa went on sale last night and i think she already sold out. there are some interesting additions to the AP outfit webshop though, many of which you might recognize, such as Misa's and Mona/Liza's outfits (remember, unless AP have changed their policies, dolls usually come with no clothes. so i am referring to the outfits they are exhibited in).

 

Tommy's latest blog had some pictures of Misa with a different, new look, and wearing some clothes that i don't think are available (yet?) although i think i recognize the wig as being a Yamato VMF50 wig (it might not be, but the color tone and cut look suspiciously similar to the one i own)...

I checked the "Real Art Project" blog , and seems that the new girl , will be a Chiara in tan skin , her face is really cute , I need it , but I hate her crazy boobs, but if finally she is available for sale , I buy it, but too a standard bust in Angel Philia, and probably I sell the "hentai tits"

 

I agree. As much as I like the sexier tone of these dolls, those boobs are a bit much LOL. Still haven't gotten one of my own, but can't wait to. Probably have to wait until next year though....Can't wait to see how yours turns out with a more toned down body

Eri's body actually is quite lovely, but I saw her for less on Y!JA a few weeks ago, so the split would be more in order to justify the purchase. But it's more or less dreaming right now budget-wise, but even that is fun!

poking my face back in this thread. sorry i haven't been around/updating the frontpage FAQ since the end of August. lots of love to Galhound for posting all the latest pictures and news though! i will try and write an update for the front page soon with any new doll information.

 

i really like Nemu's face in tan. she looks a bit too washed out to me in the pale version. it also looks like Lena's chest is similar to Romina's except much smaller. they are shaped so that they look more natural (aside from the diamond-cutting nipples i mean) which i personally like a lot more than the boobs on some other dolls that are shaped similar to the way breast implants/gravity defying hentai titties hang on your chest. real women don't look like dolls (although some of them try...see below?) but for some reason i really like it when there are still "human" touches on my dolls like the more natural shaped breasts. that's just my personal taste in boobage though.

i don't know if they did this on purpose? but with the way they painted her face-up and the way they styled her in the promo pics that Galhound shared, i looked at them and i can't shake the fact that she looks EXACTLY like a certain American model who is currently very popular Japan...

I love these girls, I had my eye on a VMF50 from before I even started getting into the hobby and now I'm moving away from DD(all ready) and finally looking joining the VMF50/AP club. Ami, Maya and Misha are my fave sculpts at the moment.

 

I am just a little curious how you guys feel about the bodyblush, I think that on some girls its a little over done as in it looks like they are trying to fake definition. I know a few vmf50 girls have unpainted versions as well.

As for the body blush or painting, I really like it and I hope they keep going

along those lines, just like all the women in sports illustrated, maxis, fhm

or closer to home Zoo, they're all air brushed before the photo shoots or

the blokes from the magazines (which I don't know^^) are the same for

Instance the movie 300;) ....anyhow that little bit more attension to detail

makes the difference compared to volks
