i'm feeling very torn about whether to consider buying her or not.

The kidney to doll market is very volatile and fluctuates wildly, much like the stock market.

Angel Philia Sonico came in today so she's up for sale if anyone wants her.

I don't know about the bodily organs to doll ratio, but the dollar to yen exchange rate is currently a lot better than it was several years ago.

as Tomo pointed out to me when i first posted Nemu in the thread, it looks like she's a repaint/redesign of an older doll's head (in this case Nao), just like Misa is a repaint/redesign of Eri's head. i remember you saying you liked Nao a lot so...!

 

i honestly prefer Nemu's face-up to Nao's, although Nao has grown on me a lot since i've spent more time with her. also there were pics of a tan Nemu head at a show, so maybe there will be a variant from RAP or something.

 

anyway, i guess you could pawn a kidney...?

 

also, oooo @ pics from K-2! looks like you and i have around the same number of dolls in our collection, although i don't have an awesome group shot to share (plus mine are at least 50% resin)

 

what kind of shoes are you planning on getting for Misa? anywhere you like to shop for shoes and clothes especially? i have quite a long list of links on the front page post near the end of it, but i'm always curious incase someone has something to add.

i really like that orange wig too actually... also Lena's boobs look more natural in your pic than in the official pic, which i approve of, and speaking of boobs...

 

@ scurvygrrrl - ahah, the first VMF i ever got was Shiho, who has type G bust which aside from the C4 bust is the biggest (i think in size terms it goes C4 > G > C3, although the band size of C3 is wider, the actual cup size would not be if i'm guesstimating based on real life bra sizing... which i probably shouldn't do, because that's a pointless and slightly terrifying thought...) - uh, anyway i had not thought to check the measurements of her body or anything (i picked her as my first because i like her face) so i was probably as surprised as you were!

 

i think at least 50% of discussion in this thread is very serious internet debate about doll boobs at this point to be honest, and i'm not helping. i probably talk about them the most.

 

anyway, congrats on Misa / Lark (nice name!) - which doll are you getting next? are you hooked yet?

 

@ OTTO - your pictures on the grass are lovely, the posing together is really cute! i like that you have twins as well (or is the other doll someone else's?)... in the 1st picture you posted of Misa / Airi, where is that babydoll dress she is wearing from? i love pastel colors, especially mint.

 

@ ZRO - Sonico is adorable! i don't know if you went through this entire thread (it's only worth doing that to view the pictures posted probably, since a lot of the early posts aside from the first post contain some incorrect information about the dolls) but a while back i was posting pics from Japanese blogs and you might enjoy the one linked below

oh god... if 50% of this topic is boob discussion, then 25% of it is me bitching about how boobs destroy expensive doll clothing. i said this before, but Shiho's nips poked a hole in a sweatshirt made of thin fabric once, after which i learned the importance of padding/pasties/bras for dolls. and yes, the pants... i talk about how important having ELASTICATED PANTS is all the time, and the ones in my cell phone pic were a tight squeeze. they are actually meant to go on a Minifee doll (my Sayo is wearing MNF elasticated pants as well right now, but overall i recommend pants or leggings for Obitsu & DD if you wanna be safer... there is no way my MNF pants would fit Shiho, but she wears DD leggings a lot)

 

i really really like the thigh shape and curve of VMFs as well though, unrealistic and troublesome as it may be. i almost consider it as being one of their defining features since i think that almost all of them except possibly Lynn Minmay have this very distinctive sculpted thigh shape that is unique to the brand.

That was a bit of an adventure. Since there is only one doll stand and two magnetic plates being used, the girls (and guys) dominoed a couple of times. No fault of their own, just me bumping the table or bumping a doll.

 

What kind of shoes are you planning on getting for Misa?

Shoe and clothes choices are mostly driven by the role they play in the MADh Vinyl story. As you can see my Misa has been neko-fied (ears and tail), so she will probably be getting a school uniform and the obligatory Mary Janes. I'll probably swap out her high heel feet.

 

Anywhere you like to shop for shoes and clothes especially? I have quite a long list of links on the front page post near the end of it, but I'm always curious in case someone has something to add.

You've pretty much nailed all my favorite shopping spots. I get the school Mary Janes from Luts. A lot of their Kid Delf shoes fit the 6cm feet. Since it's their "kids" line, most of the styles aren't very mature.

For clothes as well as the shops you've got listed, I watch Yahoo Japan Auctions Dollfie Dream section.

Oh Thank you. The babydoll dress from Valkyrie Gate. (You can find the shop from Facebook). The dress for DD but it's Ok for Misa's breast.

@ K2 - only one stand & 2 magnet bases?! you are a persistent and patient person indeed...

i do love the shape of the HH feet from an aesthetic POV but for posing nothing beats the flat/magnet feet for me. one reason i am planning on trying to get some spare feet is for swapping in and out without having to borrow from other dolls (plus, i don't have any HH in white tone and last i checked, AP webshop was sold out...)

 

i watch the YJA DD section a lot as well, i've bought a lot of stuff from there that fits my curvier/bustier VMFs and if it doesn't for some reason - well, i own DDs and SD-size resin dolls as well, so clothing gets passed around and shared and it always fits somebody.

 

i'll add a note about LUTS kid shoes though! i actually have never bought anything direct from LUTS (though tempted many times)

 

ha.... and i thought that shade of orange seemed a little familiar. a lot of the wigs i use on all my dolls are Monique brand that i buy from Jpopdolls. they are pricey but totally worth it IMO.

 

oh and yes, honestly, i think Lena looks much nicer than in the promo shot, but that could also just be my personal taste at play. i'd love to see more pics of her when you have the chance to take them.

@ kymaera - i totally understand, i am in a perpetual state of trying to catch up on everything (creative or otherwise) even when i am planning out things like backstories in my head, writing them down is another matter... but an intriguing picture...!

The foot magnets don't work well through a lot of shoes.

Parabox sells the high heel feet. They actually had them before they appeared on VMFs.
