They do tend to recycle head sculpts quite a bit, time for a

new girl ??

You can use the bjd's eye (glass eye) size 16mm that fit for Misa. (brand volks, coolcat, Etc...)

I think Lena is the newest sculpt (Type M head). She does look similar to Misa (Eri, Type J) in the mouth and nose, but the eye shape is definitely different. Nemu is listed as a Type G head, but looks a lot like the old Risa sculpt to these old eyes.

 

As far as the "recycling" of heads, I'm glad that they do that. It gives me a second (or third) chance to get a certain sculpt with possibly a different body (or skin tone) from the original release, which is frequently sold out by the time I get there. And it gives my wallet a break. I don't have to get every single doll released to have most of their sculpts and body types.

I use obitsu 50 with L bust body for her, but keep using mako hips to keep the balance bigger bust with wider hips, and already blushed the obitsu 50 to make sure its have the sam blush with the original mako hips.

For regular clothing, I'd use skirts and blouses. The Volks DD works on her (I have an obitsu L bust)

It's better to mix the clothing. Separate blouses and bottoms, or if its a dress, one that fits the bust and gently flares out, like the dress I've got my Mako in.

K-2 maybe this is OOT but, I have question about body, I'm planning to make my belldandy taller but I'm not sure which body should I pick, can we use DDS body for VMF head? Or the head to small for that body? Cos already tried obitsu 60 body with it, but the proportion looks odd, since I'm planning to make URD with my Dollfie dream, I don't want belldandy looks so small comparing to the future URD, sorry for my broken english.

I have to confess, Ah! My Goddess is one of my all time favorite manga/animes so I definitely have strong opinions about these gals. I think you've really hit the mark with your rendition of Belldandy. I really like the balance you've struck between anime and realism with her, particularly with the realistic eyes over the anime style eyes. And I'm very please you plan to do the other goddesses (at least Urd!).

 

I would have to agree with the previous posters. If you make Urd a DD2 or DDDy she would much larger in scale than your Bell. I really can't speak about the DDS bodies as I've never seen one in person. I have considered purchasing one but there has always been a VMF I would rather have. And I agree that tan skin would be the way to go.

 

If I remember correctly the body you've used for Bell is one of the 48cm bodies. Urd would look great (I think) as the tan skin VMF Type E body or the tan Type B. Both of these are 50cm and slightly taller, but not larger in the "frame" than the 48cm so they would look very good together. If you want Urd to be even more busty, the tan VMF Type G would do the job.

 

As for Urd's head, the tan skin presents a bit of a problem as there aren't as many suitable tan sculpts available. The tan version of the B Type body with the "Miu" style head would work well. The slightly closed eyes would give Urd a more sly/coy look than the "wide open" eyes on the other sculpts. The AP Lena head sculpt would also work well, however Lena is only available in white skin at present. Your artist could blush her tan or you could wait for a tan skin version to be released (fingers crossed).

 

Then with the older sisters done you could use a Parabox 40cm or 45cm for Skuld. Since the Parabox bodies are essentially Obitsu 48/50cms, you trio of goddesses would all look like they came from the same artist.

 

Your biggest problem I see is availability. A lot of these "perfect" choices aren't readily available in the market place. You might have to wait months (even a year or more) for a doll to become available. Depending on how fast you want to finish these girls you might have look for compromises.

Wah ah my goddess was my fav manga and anime too, that's why when VOLKS announced their belldandy I'm really excited, but after seeing her, I don't know, she's very pretty but I can't found my "belldandy" in her except for her dress, so I decided to built my own belldandy after going trough a hard choice to pick the head sculpt for her, my choice come to Mako. I just tell her(the artist) to make mako looks calm, kind, and warm with belldandy picture as a reference, and really pleased with the result. Anyway I'm planning to built custom Skuld as well, yeah I know it will takes a long hunting and patient to wait the best sculpt for URD, so I'm gonna wait for it, maybe will built SKULD first, With obitsu 45 body, any advice for her head?

I don't want to say you can't use 55/60cm parts on the 50cm body (never say never), but most of the parts aren't "plug and play" between the 55/60cm and the 50cms. The skeleton parts inside the two body types utilize different diameter pegs and holes, so they don't play well together without modification. However the 50cm's "spine" part (a.k.a. the abdominal part, 50RP-F01WP-23) will retrofit into the 55/60cm bodies. Numerous people have used the 50cm spine to replace the broken spine parts in their 55/60cm dolls. With that in mind, you could use the 50cm spine to marry the entire lower half of a 55/60cm and a 50cm upper body. The result would look something like this:

 

 

Some notes...

I don't have any complete 60cm legs at this time. These are shortened 60cm ball joint style legs. The thighs and calves have been shortened by 1-2cm each. You can see the cut lines through the body suit in the upper thigh and just above the ankles.

I use Dollfie Dream abdomens on my 55/60cm female bodies. The DD2 abdomen retrofits without modification and has more muscle definition (similar to the VMF50 Type B) than the Obitsu 60cm abdomens.

She's wearing a DD2 size body suit, which fits fairly well.

The Type D bust is a little small for this configuration. Any of the larger busts would probably look a bit better proportionately.

 

This version is about 52cm tall. With unaltered 60cm legs she would be much closer to 55-56cm.

 

All in all, she doesn't look half bad. I think a Type B, E, G, or one of the larger C busts would result in more pleasing proportions and would probably fit a lot more DD2 clothes.

K-2 wow that was a really great info, thank you so much, anyway I found Risa V2 tan body for sale so I bought it, to make Urd custom, just need to customise her head and make a eyehole for her, any good tutorial for doing it??
