VMF50 & Angel Philia Discussion Thread (nsfw, doll nudity)

You can look at Real Art Project as the "fetish/hentai" line of dolls where as the VMF50/AP lines are more like "Character Image Girls". It's still Arcadia.

Thank you SO much for the amazing info, dear K-2!

These dolls are really hard to figure out, so this is very welcome.

I've read this entire thread, and still can't figure some things out.

I really like the more 'mature' dolls they do, I think they're super funny!

Though the réally 'hentai' ones are just a step too far for me to own.

This one I just bought is the perfect level of 'hentai' for me to be comfortable owning.

She reminds me of the resin Unoa Yawn/Akubi faceplate. (which I also am wanting to add to my collection one day)

Since she comes with only an extra lower half torso and no bust piece, I was thinking of getting a regular small bust piece from Parabox, but I'm not sure wether to get the one for 40cm-47cm: http://parabox.jp/obitsu/40parts/AC-40-01S.html or the one for 48cm-50cm: http://parabox.jp/obitsu/50BODY/50AC-FS002W.html

Maybe best wait till she's home with me so I can measure the cirbleepference of the under-bust area to decide which one fits best.

If there's anything in particular, just ask. Someone here is bound to know the answer.

Just about any of the listed parts for the 48/50cm bodies on the Parabox site will fit this gal. The Angel Philia, Yamato VMF50, Real Art Projects, Visuadoll, and Azone 48 and 50cm bodies are all made by Obitsu and are based on the Obitsu 48/50cm body. Each of these companies has custom vinyl parts made just for their versions but the underpinnings (the interior hard plastic skeleton) are all the same. You can do a lot of interesting mix and matching with the parts from these companies.

The easiest way to get one is from Mandarake but they are usually used however sometimes they sell them on consignment. The other way to get them is by Proxy and buying off yahoojapan and other like sites you may even be able to use a proxy and buy directly from Angel Philia/Real Art Project sites but i don't know for sure on that.

Honoka is a new girl I think at the moment she is only Announced and the orders have not been opened yet. Like they literally added her to their site last week.

I have used Japan Auction Center as a proxy bidder/buyer for over 5 years and I am very happy with their service. I have used them to bid on and buy over a dozen dolls from Yahoo Japan Auctions and directly from doll companies including RAP.

K-2, Do you happen to have any advice on Changing the ankles on these girls? Nemu came with some weak ankles, she seems to have trouble supporting herself .

Loose ankles on your 50cm? Here’s how to tighten them up.

For this procedure you will need:

1) Your trusty hair dryer

2) A small Phillips screwdriver, jeweler’s size

3) A hobby knife, like an Xacto #11

001.jpg

The knife blade does not have to be sharp. You are going to use it to separate two parts, not to cut anything.

First remove the lower leg by grasping the shin in one hand and the knee joint in the other. Twist and pull the lower leg till it separates from the knee.

Next we will remove the foot and ankle from the shin vinyl. The ankle joint fits very tightly in the shin vinyl. This can be the most difficult part of the operation.

Heat the lower part of the leg with the hair dryer. This could take several minutes.

002.jpg

The shin vinyl will have to be softened quite a bit in order to remove the ankle/foot assembly. You should be able to squeeze the lower shin easily. Hold the ankle ball and twist back and forth while pulling away from the shin.

Next, remove the Phillips screw on the bottom of the foot.

003.jpg

Remove the ankle joint from the foot by tipping the ankle joint forward and slipping it up and out of the foot.

004.jpg

Now slip the foot collar (a ring with the tab) off of the ankle joint.

005.jpg

On the ball of the ankle joint you will see two parallel seams. Take the hobby knife and CAREFULLY wedge the blade into one of the seams and pry the seam wider. Once you can get your finger nail in the gap put the knife away and remove the cap on the ankle ball.

006.jpg

Repeat the procedure and remove the other cap.

Under the ankle ball caps there is a small bolt through the ankle joint. One side has a hex nut that fits snugly in the hex shaped hole while the other side has a bolt head with a Phillips slot.

007.jpg

Take your Phillips screw driver and tighten the bolt one quarter to one half a turn. This will depend on how loose the foot/ankle was. You can test the tightness by replacing the foot collar and the foot (replace the Phillips screw in to the bottom of the foot). Bend the foot and ankle joint to see if it is tighter than before.

Once the friction in the joint is satisfactory, reassemble the ankle joint ball caps (they snap on), slip on the foot collar (note the position of the tab), and finally the foot vinyl and bottom screw.

You will probably need to heat the shin vinyl in order to re-insert the ankle/foot assembly into the shin vinyl.

With the ankle/foot assembly back in the shin, reassemble the lower leg and the knee joint. Make sure the lower leg skeleton peg goes into the knee joint.

Hi

Well I finally unboxed Kanu and here she is, I apologise for the pictures but I took them late at night using various lights in the room but I couldnt wait.

Turned out that the girl I bought her from included this wig in the sale which means she does not have to be bald, It actually does'nt look to bad.

The body is much much more muscled than I thought it would be and I think she looks amazing, I think that clothes may be an issue however. Well just have to wait and see.

I included some pictures of her with my 50cm girl Pino, just so you can see the differences in the body. It is the same skeleton in both its the vinyls that are different between the two.

Anyway hope you like.

I'm so used to the company picture of Kanu in the long dark wig. That wig makes your girl look so different!

The body is much much more muscled than I thought it would be and I think she looks amazing, I think that clothes may be an issue however. Well just have to wait and see.

I've used a number of Dollfie Dream outfits on my Type Bs. The bust and hips are about the right size but the waist is smaller and the Type B is shorter. Separate skirts and tops work well since they adjust for the height difference. Then of course there are the outfits made by Yamato/AP that fit the Type B (if you can find them).

It is the same skeleton in both, it's the vinyls that are different between the two.

Keep that in mind for future modifications. There is a lot of part swapping that can be done with the 40/47/48/50cm Obitsus. Busts, abdomens, heads, leg parts are all very interchangeable.

Fu is a (close to) stock Type B with a Haruka head (and Kanu's wig).

Fu001.jpg

Hyacinth (Type B, redhead) has Obitsu stock thighs and Anna Marie (Type B, pink hair) has Type D thighs.

Please post more picture of your girls once Kanu has settled in.

Many VMF/Angel Philia heads are in the 6 3/4" to 7 1/8" range (I measured 7 different VMF/AP heads I have), sounds like a 6-7 should do the trick.

They wear msd or sd clothes

The stock Obitsu 50cm body upon which the VMF50, Angel Philia, Visuadoll, and Azone 50cm dolls are based is slim enough to wear a lot of MSD sized clothing. However the increased bust and hip size of many of the VMF50, Angel Philia, and Azone G2 bust can put them into some Dollfie Dream outfits. Stretchy and loose clothing (T-shirts, sweaters, skirts, etc.) has a better chance of fitting them than tailored outfits.

When buying clothes for a doll, any doll, unless you are buying clothes from the manufacturer of your doll (i.e. Volks Dollfie Dream outfits for your Dollfie Dream) you should always reference the dimensions of the clothes and the dimensions of the doll. Buying clothing based on a vague size reference such as "MSD size" is like buying people clothes simply labeled "Teenager". Teenagers come in a wide range of sizes and shapes and one size does not fit all of them. The same goes for MSD and SD sized dolls.

Hi all! Good to see this thread alive and kicking.

I finally got the chance to get a Pink Drops Marina! I wanted to ask if anyone had any info on her releases, and which came as a fullset, or with clothing. It seems like many rereleases of sculpts just have extra hands and the stand, and a nude doll, but I'm just assuming from what I've seen *sweats*

I just ordered my girl from Mandarake, but I'm not sure if she comes with some kind of outfit? I figured they were just promotional pics, but now I'm curious if she actually has clothes! XD

Here's the link to the Marina I ordered, if anyone's fimiliar with this release, could you answer my question?

There have been very few "fullsets" released by Yamato (VMF50), Angel Philia, or Real Art Projects (Pink Drops). The "standard release" doll usually comes with a face-up, body blushing, eyes, manicure, pedicure, a set of option hands, and the metal plate (stand). When the high heel feet were new, a few releases came with both flat feet and heel feet, but most come with the heel feet now. There are no magnets in the heel feet.

I just ordered my girl from Mandarake, but I'm not sure if she comes with some kind of outfit? I figured they were just promotional pics, but now I'm curious if she actually has clothes! XD

Unless clothes were bought for her by her original owner (usually shown separately) she will not come with any clothing. The photo on the sale page is an RAP promotional picture, most of which show the doll with some sort of outfit. Some of these outfits have appeared for sale later, others have not. In all likelihood she will not come with a wig either so you should probably start looking. Most of these girls heads' fall in the 7" range so 6-7 wigs fit pretty well.

Here's the link to the Marina I ordered, if anyone's familiar with this release, could you answer my question?

http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/item_s-1981511.html

It looks like the original owner bought the separate option hand set, which has the "victory sign" hands and the "glamor" hands. She looks to be fitted with the "grabbing" hands, which are the normal optional hands included. The usual stock "open palm" hands don't look to be included.
