Oh wow, so many amazing pictures of vmf50's! I've just recently discovered these and now feeling hooked! This has been such a great thread to learn about them considering they are super confusing on size etc. Now I feel ready to adopt one and was wondering if anyone could tell me if Faithz Toys is a legit place to buy? I've never heard of them till now and really would like to get Ran, which unfortunately I was too late to discover and missed the pre-order from AP's official site...

I've never heard of them so I can't vouch for them. But according to my currency conversion site (http://www.x-rates.com/calculator/?from=HKD&to=USD&amount=3850) their price of $3850 HKD ($496 USD) is not far from what you would pay buying from a reasonable Yahoo Japan Auction seller. Ran lists for 47000yen (about $429 USD). A $70 mark up from a secondary seller isn't too bad. I know I've paid a lot more on occasion.

@ingeneu Faithz was one of my favorite store! They are easy to communicate with, super friendly, and usually have a lot of instock item.

The Quarantotto Angel Philia site has a direct link to the FaithZ store for 'international' customers, so I felt safe in preordering Ran from them. I haven't heard a peep since I prepaid back in mid-March, but she's still a few weeks off. I'll let you know how it goes, hopefully sometime in early May.

After reading K2's comment above, I checked my FaithZ order. Ran was originally listed at HK$3650 (US$470.60), so they've upped their price by US$26 since March. Shipping to CA will be around US$56 with a couple of extra bust parts (I'm going to try a C2 bust on Ran to see how it balances her big H-type hips).

 

Speaking of busts, the blushing on the oh-so-pointy nipples of my Marina's C3 bust is showing some wear, despite my best efforts to avoid abrading them while dressing/undressing her, so I ordered a new C3 bust. I'm going to try to find some matching paint for a little experimental touch-up on the old bust part. Anyone have a recommendation regarding the best type of paint for the job? Whether or not the touch-up successful, it'll be handy to have a spare bust for stain testing new clothing.

 

Also, any pointers on avoiding future, uh...nipple chafing while dressing these little monsters in tight outfits?

I really, really love your dolls and styling. I recognize the Sailor outfit from one of the Angel Philis events, I think? May I ask who makes that outfit where Chica's eyes came from? They are STUNNING! I can't tell you how much I appreciate your photography and (maybe?) answers.

 

*edit* Oh I remembered I saw that outfit on Code Noir's website- it looks beautiful. I really love her eyes too and if you wouldn't mind sharing the maker, I'd be in your debt!

We're doing Gals with Guns over on DoA right now. Diamond doesn't use fire arms. She always brings a sword to a gun fight (and a few magic spells for good measure).

If anyone's interested, Ran is currently shipping. Mine arrived in Los Angeles today, which was a complete surprise, since I never received a shipment notice or tracking info from FaithZ.

 

She's gorgeous ! I swapped her type-H bust for a C2, which took a little effort, as the H bust has a much larger lower opening than the C, but a minute with a hairdryer was all it took. IMO, the type H body looks much more balanced with the larger bust; more hourglass-shaped and less pear-shaped. As she stands now, she looks like a tan Misa with a more voluptuous (and anatomically detailed) butt and hips.

 

The white arabesque patterns around her eyes are more subtle than expected. You really have to look for them under direct light. I wasn't sure about her fancy 16mm red character eyes (which came conveniently installed) based on the promo pics, but I love them in person, and they fit her name, which means "orchid." She has very nice delicate upper eyelashes, too.

 

I couldn't be happier with Ran - she's so vibrant and lifelike that she's almost surreal looking. I'll post some pics if/when I ever rack up enough posts to quality.

I'm sp happy I just put in my pre order for the AP Ramia, I got the blank one just cause i intended to customize it anyways. The body is just perfect, although I'm not the biggest fan of the head. Hopefully I'll find the one I want on Y!JA or Mandrake or something. now to wait until August to get her (hopefully find her some clothes before then)

XOHimitsuOX, it looks like you have the optional C3 lower torso with the deep thigh reliefs in place. Did it come installed? I was considering purchasing Kasumi, but I have no idea how to switch between the C2 and C3 lower torsos, and I've been unable to find any info on the procedure on-line. If anyone knows how to make the swap, or can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciated it.

K2 - thank you very much for the invaluable tutorial. You did an excellent job all around. The pics, captions and descriptions are all succinct and crystal clear.

 

Coaxing those hip joint pegs in and out of the holes in the vinyl looks a bit daunting, since, as noted, it's easy to underestimate the flexibility of the tough vinyl parts.

 

Even though poor little Marina's expression never actually changes (duh), she manages to convey the perfect combination of preoperative jitters followed by exhausted relief. ^_^

yeas they are compatible, you can change the bust with any bust type you want.
