VMF50 & Angel Philia Discussion Thread (nsfw, doll nudity)

Recommended Posts

Your girls are very pretty! I am tempted to get another Angel Philia, but decided to hold off for now - I have to find a make-up artist to paint my Kiara (and gather strength to take off her head... again). Had to put off doll plans for a while unfortunately, but hopefully now I will be able to finish everything!

The trick is to leave the neck piece attached to the head. Also if you are sending the head out for a face-up, leaving the neck piece attached gives the head a convenient handle or it can be slipped in a soda bottle opening to use as a stand.

See my tutorial on head removal.

I do want a fourth Angelphilia. The only sculpt I’m missing that I like is the Type M head (Lena). I’m thinking of trying to look just for a tan head and have her share bodies with my other girls 😛

I’m used to handle Obitsu dolls, so I find removing the head from the neck joint very easy. But that’s because AP is very similar to obitsu :)

I found an awesome artist on Etsy. He has great price and fast turn around about 1-3 weeks. He has an account on Den of Angels and Instagram as well. I send my Galaxia with him last week and on the first few days he completed a lot of the face up. He also send me a lot of updates. He is USA based and I only paid $30 for the face up including shipping back to me. He had to stop with my girl face up because of the holidays but I’m sure he will finish soon. The last update picture I got on Wednesday show the face up almost done all he needed was the pastels :)

These are pictures the face up artist send me last Wednesday. I think he is doing a great job with my Galaxia. Also, he paint resin dolls and other small dolls :)

I have maybe an odd question. Has anyone tried putting an Angel Philia head on a MDD Mochiashi body?

I have both and can show you what it’d look like if you want.  I’m thinking you’d have to mod the neck pin down.  In any case, you would have to do some modding to put the head on permanently, but I can show you the scale.

That would be great if you could! I assumed some modding would have to be involved.

Thanks for posting it!  I hadn’t pulled my Mona head down yet so you saved me the effort!  The scale isn’t bad at all.  The only real problem is the neck length and width.  I’m wondering what the similar sized pieces from Obitsu/Parabox would look like as a neck/bust swap.  Just musing lol.  I like thinking about putting parts together in different ways.

Mmmh yes, the neck is the only thing that has something bothering, but not too bad. Maybe once dressed it is less evident...

I ordered some magnets and I’m excited to put magnets in the feet of my Mona. My other 50cm girl (the Dollypop) already has mag feet and I love them.

My plan for my second AP girl (my type B tan) is to mod her a little bit so she’s slightly taller, since she’s meant to be taller than my Gabriel and it makes a nice contrast for a couple.  I think the torso is probably the easiest place to get the extra height, especially considering the length of the lower torso pieces for APs.

Big boobies LOL

I order the skeleton parts from parabox. All I need is the outer parts and she will have a body. I’m just waiting to see if Mandarake has the outer parts in stock and finally my 3 AP girls will have their own bodies. The joints for the body I’m putting together in parts will be a different color but I think that would be okay :)

There is a TAN type H set unpainted: https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1156446433&categoryCode=020114&keyword=quarantotto&lang=en

and some random type E / B parts, also TAN.

Yes I order that set. I was just waiting for Mandarake to tell me if it was in stock. It was so I just pay for it :)

I am currently waiting for my Mona to arrived. She'll both be my first AP girl as well as my first vinyl doll. I really want to redo her face up as I find that a super important bonding part to the experience but I'm super nervous about it. So far I've only painted my resin dolls and I mostly use pastels and watercolour pencils. Not sure how that will go on vinyl.

Also I am so sad. I really wanted the O type but they didn't have her on FaitZ so I decided to go with Mona but now they have an O type listed... why...
Well I guess I'll save up and hope that one day she'll be available when I have the money.

But still super excited as the M type was my favourite closed mouth one. So any tips on maintaining vinyl dolls is welcome!

I am hoping she'll arrive end of next week or the week after. She's already shipped so shouldn't be too long.

Just an FYI, I've heard the ZM Finishing Spray from Volks reacts poorly to vinyl, so you may want to switch sealant if you've been using ZM.

I got my body parts today. All at the same time and I order from 3 different places LOL. But I gave up. The leg skeleton frame are a few cm to big I was unable to make them fit properly. I thought AP need it 50cm leg frame parts but apparently not :( Also no idea how to put the feet and the hands won't go in either. I’m unable to find any tutorials online on how to assemble the 1/3 obitsu body. I’m so frustrated I decided to give up for today. Also I think the whitey frame parts don’t look that bad with the brown outer parts :)

Oh, good! AP are 48cm (obitsu48 frame), not 50, but the 2 extra cm are only in the legs. You can adapt the length of the legs, the are various orizontal signs and you must cut to shorten the staff... but I don't know where... sorry ^^'

Maybe comparing to another 48cm leg can help.

For hands and feet to slide in, the solution is always the same. Heat the pieces with hairdryer till they are malleable and slide in (don't get burned yourself!).

edit: for the feet you must unsrew the terminal piece (like you've done on one of the ankles), insert it and then combine all togheter with the screw.

As stated 1 post above:

fireball.

Fireball.

FIREBALL. Fireball is the answer to everyth... I mean hairdryer or similar is your best friend. It can't melt vinyl and if a soft piece is deformed by prolungate pressure it can regain it's original form, if you must slide hands or feet or hip joint in hard vinyl pieces you can heat the vinyl to make it more soft and collaborative. Etc.

Thank you. I was able to put the hands on. When I order the leg frame it say 48/50cm on the description but I think the only way for me to make it 48cm will be to saw those 2cm myself. Unfortunately I don’t own a saw LOL.

Replied on DoA.

Also, no need to buy an entire saw, just buy a single hack saw blade (18-24 teeth per inch) and tape up half the blade to use as the handle. Since you're not cutting anything really tough like metal pipe, that's all you need.

...... a hefty pair of wire cutters and a strong grip strength will also do the trick, said Cauldy definitely not speaking from experience using wire cutters for things they were never meant for.

You guys are awesome. Thank you so much for all the help. I will do that @K-2 in the near future. I think with some thighs the extra centimeters won’t be very noticeable. I cut a little bit of the feet frame like you suggested and it work great. if you notice the body is slightly taller than my other two girls.  I kind of feel proud of myself not going to lie. I can’t wait to get the head back from the face up artist to have my three girls complete. I’m happy the whitey frame doesn’t look that bad with the brown body :) I thought it was going to look more bad.
