Does anyone know roughly when FaithZ restocks their AP parts? I've been waiting to get a c5 bust for my girl, but they haven't been available for a bit now. or are there any other shops that sell AP parts? thanks in advance!

HMMMM.. Unfortunately, that may have to wait. One of the arm holes on Meigana's chest frame parts has cracked AGAIN. This isn't the first time it has happened to her though.. I replaced it once before, but now.. Oh well. The part needed replacing anyway, as her head/neck piece came off too easily when I had to take her head off. 

I made her swimsuit using silken purse ties. There is a strap (not pictured) in the back to keep the parts from falling off when posed too sharply.

@MrFjmg03 Yes, it's the DollyPop 2-piece set that allows for more movement and posing. You can buy a 3-piece DP50 set for 7,500 yen or just buy the stomach and bottom for 5,000 yen and then use an AP bust like I did.

So, uh, my AP arrived without any shipping notification (last I emailed them, they estimated they would start sending them out in two weeks.

 

I'm still waiting on her shoes, clothes, etc.  I bought the wig to see how well I'd like it, because it was only $12.  Overall, I spent a good chunk of time admiring the detail from the body sculpting to the blushing.  Will probably get diferent eyes and possibly a wig with more color.  Either that, or attempt to style it.  I'm also going to stuff her

Meet Pink Drops No. 63, Reika (レイカ)! Her head sculpt reminds me of the female main character of Cowboy Bebop, if I remember correctly. I really like her outfit! These pictures are NOT my own. They are from Real Art Project (RAP)/Quarantotto! The link is above.

Edit: I just remembered. I got a small bag of quilt batting/stuffing from Walmart and used that to stuff my doll's AP parts! They are so squishy! (I hope that doesn't sound perverted)

I can't wait to use that same stuff on my first full AP doll! I have 2 hybrids (Meigana and Suzuka/Succubus-chan) with AP parts and I love them, but I want a pure AP to fully fit in to this thread! I read about using quilt batting on this thread. I think it was @K-2 who recommended that. It bounces back better than regular ole cotton balls!

Someone pointed out Reika is one of the first dolls that use the Q-type face.   Which I think I had only ever seen on Manda.

Yo-ko and this new lady are the only Q-type APs I know of. Here is FaithZ's sold-out doll page that comes closest to an archive of AP dolls, in my opinion.

Edit: I mistook Maya for type-Q! Do you all think type-L and type-Q heads look alike? For example, fraternal twins? (I am a fraternal twin, by the way! So I would know!)

Long time no post, In between working and packing for my overseas move (which if all goes to plan will be the start of Feb) I've been so busy T-T ! Got some dolly lingerie in the mail today and a new girl yesterday (which was a rare aussie adoption, the majority of my girls have come from the USA and Japan)!

So I decided to try and make some time for some doll pics for my insta (@vinyldreamdoll). Can't wait for when I can set up a proper diorama!

How hard is it to put together a Obitsu/AP body from frame parts, and how much cheaper is it actually? Is there a guide to how to put all the pieces together? I don't usually mess with the frame that much on my girls.

I don't know how cheaper it is, I've actually built an AP from scratch, some pieces from Mandarake, some others from FaithZ. More than money, is time consuming if you want to wait for bargain prices XD.

 

I also don't own any other vinyl doll, but for me assemble and disassemble an obitsu/AP body from pieces to whole is one of the easiest task I can think of. The most "difficult" part is to use the hairdrier for softening the hard vinyl parts.

YAY! I was able to find a suntan AP body on the IG 2nd hand market at a very reasonable price. It will be my first AP body with the tan lines. Finally my Tiffany will have her own body and she might become my first AP girl with non existent boobies LOL. Hopefully I will get the body by the end of next week. It feels so good to have no floating heads anymore.

The cheapest way to simulate an AP body is to use a stock Obitsu 48/50cm body and replace the bust and torso vinyls with AP parts. If you really want to splurge you can add the AP thighs too, but make sure they are the correct length for the body you have (48cm or 50cm). This can save a little money ($100-$200 maybe) if you can get the parts as close to original retail as possible. Aftermarket prices can add up and easily equal buying the whole AP doll new.

There are two caveats for this, one that can blow the budget, which is finding an AP head (if you want an AP head). The other is that the bust/torso swap will only work with the white skin. The AP tan color is exclusive to AP and RAP.

I have a bunch of parts already I got off a trade, so I'm debating whether to sell them or try to make a doll with them. They're all regular obitsu though (excluding the hands and feet).

Suntanned, not tanned.  Suntanned is essentially a whitey chest with blushing that matches the tan color to resemble swimsuit lines.
