C-5 is 21cm bust.

They also read my mind well and said that between H vs. H2, the way the leg opening is carved extra high allows for much more flexible posing, so squatting like this can be done. I also notice that the legs can actually bend fully inwards maybe due to the extra soft material, something mine cannot do.

I've seen this design before, and it reminds me a lot of what Azone does with the "Emotion" line of PureNeemo bodies. They have much larger openings that let the legs bend upwards significantly more.

(One pitfall though is that I imagine that flexibility is probably best achieved in a skirt. I've noticed that in shorts, especially denim shorts, Mai is significantly less flexible.)

It's an insane mark up of almost 200 usd haha 

It bothers me because people will drop 650 on a doll from there then think it's worth 800 (or more) when they go to sell it later when the same doll costs 450-500 from Japan.  I feel bad for newbies not knowing any better.  Especially if they buy it at 800, think the doll ain't for them then they try and recoup. Long time collectors ain't forking out that price.  

 

I just sold my bnib Kumi for 550 (- whatever PayPal fees I paid) and I probably could have asked for more considering how sought after she was, but I want this hobby to be affordable for people. It's expensive enough as it is.

The hands, thighs and feet are the same firmness as the stock Obitsu 48, but the torso is much softer and has larger holes at the hips which make it easier to get on and off the skeleton. I’m not sure how it compares to Dollypop, though.

I don’t know much about non-soft skin AP parts. But I do know about DollyPop and somewhat soft skin AP parts after completing part of GONN 7.0’s body!

The arms restocked just today, so I nabbed them. Turns out the shins are hard vinyl, so I see no point of getting those.

I'm now pretty piqued by the soft skin parts for my WIP second doll after tierparkzone described it to me, but the selection's pretty overwhelming. 

It's seeing this level of flexibility that's caught my eye... even my Dollypop setup can't do this (the knee joint detaches). Not that this is the pose I specifically want, but even right now, I have not been able to get any of my dolls to get into a seiza pose that's to my satisfaction.

DollyPop parts aren’t as soft or thin as AP in that regard. They are meant to be as sturdy while being soft and flexible as possible.

Only my Obitsu 60s have the 50-60 Plump thighs.

The thighs deform in a seated position, however, the thighs bounce back on their own and do not need stuffing unlike soft skin AP parts.

You will hear a squish sound from air escaping when you squeeze or move the thigh into a seated position. In short, it sounds like a squeaky toy that doesn’t squeak.

Between this and what I've been sent over DM, I'm fully convinced and ordered a set with the H/H2/H. I'm mostly interested in the posing possibilities + using this as an art reference, which is what drew me to the Obitsu side to begin with. 

Now, if only the strengths of DP + AP could be combined... you'd have the upper body articulation of DP with the leg flexibility of AP. I've seen some Japanese users attempt to combine the two together.

That's pretty insane. If I were to order an AP, I'd just order direct or from Mandarake for $450-500 and be done with it.

That's pretty much been my observation so far. The hip and waist parts in particular are pretty firm, but the bust is pretty soft. But due to the skeleton, the bust ends up being firm. I have no idea what to expect out of AP, though it's probably moot since I went with an H bust.

I don't think the firmness is a bad thing since it makes it easier to grip the parts for pivoting each segment of the torso independently.

Has anyone used Angel Philia's in-house stands? It's the clasp style (though quite a different design from the Volks one) but seems to be the same one used for all their in-house photography.

Getting magnetic obits feet and the metal plate is a good alternative if you're just interested in it for standing. Pretty sure it's cheaper too.

I've got both, the magnets don't do much once shoes are in the picture (and more so when shoes + socks are involved).

Haven’t tried this one, but the Obitsu Multistand is cheaper, looks similar and is seemingly more versatile.

I have one of those for my AP! 

It took 3 hours to assemble and is bigger than the classic metal plate stand.

This is the first time I’ve used a stand like this, so I find it a lot bulkier and creakier than what I’m used to.

Speaking of, Mandarake has TWO of those AP stands you all are talking about!

I really like the mirrored stands that AP did but they are so hard to get. I've been thinking of making my own 🤔

I ended up ordering the AP stand since I feel more comfortable with a stand that's designed specifically for this line of dolls. I also prefer knobs that are adjustable by hand, rather than requiring a screwdriver.

Tan Kumi came today!! Well Riko 😂 can't wait to have some free time to change her body over to the suntan body!

Had a Lil bit of time so built a body from my box of parts  today!  Attached the K head for now but hoping to get my R or H face ups done. Heads for trade if anyone has a tan Q or R or H for trade T-T I've settled on collecting those sculpts 

Also had did a shot with a galaxy projector. It's so hard to get it in focus using my phone 🙄 need to invest in a better camera. Posted an edit on my insta .

OH MY GOSH! I know that guy, he's bothered me a little before as well, just thought he was a fan of my girls or something but he would try and have actual conversations with me? It's so weird and I just leave him on read or delivered and he always comes back. I think I'm going to block too 🥲

Yes definitely be careful. There are a couple of these jackwagons stalking instagram for stuff to get off on. Had a photo sent to me by a different person with their doll covered in a white 'lotion'.

I'm okay, I never had the other guy mentioned message me *knock on wood*. The incident that happened was a couple years ago, so hopefully he no longer does that. I was in the old Smart Doll Lovers group on Facebook, and he messaged quite a few of us at the same time.
