This is the same head right?? I do like the faceup, but 20000+ yen markup that's absolutely insane. People suck. She looks less smiley in the 2nd picture so I could be wrong, or she could just be sad she's been kidnapped by some money hungry scalper.

I was looking at that same head on Y!JA.

I thought so.. I’ll stick to regular sized AP hybrids then.

Concerning hybrids, do you all know if a C4 bust will fit an AZO2 torso? My hybrid (GONN 5.0) has an AZO2 torso and I’ve been eyeing the C4 (Kiara v1) bust as she’s going to be an athlete.

Imagine GONN 5.0 jumping up to hit a volleyball over the net!

The AP-made heads, not Obitsu heads with AP or VMF50 faceups, wig sizes range from 6-7 and 7.5?

Look what I ran across on Twitter! OSDs 99 and 101 will be up for sale on Mandarake’s website on September 15th! I think the doll to the left looks like Obitsu’s Manatsu/50-07 sculpt. She’s really cute and would consider getting the same head for GONN 5.0.

Edit: I tried zooming into the picture frame under the OSD no. 99 to see her head sculpt. It said Type-G but I’m not completely sure due to glare and small lettering. If you know the sculpt, then please tell me! I really like it.

Does anyone know the neck circumference of a type-B bust/body?

I read that it should be 9cm, but since many of you have this doll in their collections I thought it'd better to ask.

Just measured mine, 9cm looks right.

So, none of my girls have underwear. Which means I need to make some. Here's a early paper prototype. I have plans in my head what I would like the final product to look like, but getting there feels like struggle 😕

I came back to ask about your mannequin. Did you create it yourself or buy it from somewhere? I would like to create my own too!

My university has 3D printers and buttloads of art equipment in the library building. I’d have roughly 2 hours to spend before my first class of the day.

I‘m also taking one of my dolls for scale for a doll head and other parts I want to sculpt from clay. Clay isn’t exactly recommended, but it’s because I’m no good at 3D design software and require training to use 3D printing equipment.

I made it myself. I used Meshroom (Free photogrammetry program) to create a 3D model. 1st I stuck a bunch of small stickers on the doll, so that the program can identify the features of the doll. Then took a lot of photos around the doll at multiple angles. After creating a 3D model I imported it in to Blender and created a simplified model, then split it in to manageable pieces to print without overhangs, thus not needing to use support material.

Got my first girl in the flesh today! She came with a some extra body pieces and some outfits. I love her jointed hands the most, does anyone know where to get more? Would love some tips on changing their clothes... Do the heads just pop off? Or is it more like bjds where you have to go over them?

Taking apart and reassembling an Obitsu (which includes Angel Philia) is fairly uncomplicated - most skeleton parts can just be pulled apart with a very moderate amount of force. Albeit removing vinyl parts from the skeleton afterwards may require a hairdryer in several cases.

To remove the head, firmly grip the chest (you should feel some kind of support structure in the upper bust area) then, gently but firmly pull up the head. The head, together with the neck connector piece, should slide right out. It's definitely easier here compared to DDs or SmD (where it isn't that hard either).

For reassembly, just push it back in the same way.

Her head popped off so easily, changing her bust was a bit of a pain but helps me learn more about their bodies in general. Definitely need to get some new clothes or attempt to sew some.

They are strung, but I have no idea what company made them. The girl I got them from said she bought them at a doll convention in Japan! I noticed today that iretaro on IG has them on her doll too.

Awawawawawawawa... That’s a lot of stuff!

Do you all know what AP busts can fit an AZO2 torso? I‘ve been eyeing the C4 and H5 busts. Do all AP busts have the same circumference? If so, then I can hit the "place order” button!

I bought AZO2 thighs and a pair of ankles to (mostly) complete my project doll and can’t wait to show you all once GONN 5.0 is completed!

GONN 5.0 will be headless as I haven’t bought a head yet. She’s going to look beautiful either way. She will be the first doll I have built piece by piece. This process is so exciting!

One more thing.. I tested out Meigana’s H3 bust on my Obitsu 60, GONN 3.0. The arm sticks jut out by design. I was thinking of melting the Parabox bari to create "sleeves" to cover the sticks up or shaving them down. Then again, GONN 3.0 already has the DP60 Dynamite bust and the H3 belongs to Meigana.

I took some quick pictures of Meigana’s H3 on 5.0’s torso. It floats over the top.. Looks like I’ll have to try something different.

Update: OSD 99’s head sculpt is G with 16mm eyes! The lips have been sanded down. Plus, her eyes don’t look that small because of her faceup. I’ll be on the lookout for a G head for GONN 5.0 and the pictures of the new dolls from Tommy’s blog.

I won’t give up on my goal of creating a modified AP-Obitsu-Parabox-DollyPop 60cm hybrid! I’ll only use the AP bust(s) and 60cm parts.

It’s also quite disappointing that H3 floated over 5.0’s AZO2 torso. GONN 5.0’s entire personality and style is/was banking on C4! I was thinking of trimming and fusing the vinyl together so it’ll fit just right. It’d be an expensive mistake if something went wrong.

In other news, say hello to the new Ellie/エリ 5.0! She has shiny eyes and deeper blushing on the bridge of her nose and cheeks. She’s really cute! This photo is from the Quarantotto.biz site link above.image.jpeg.5c2429d98060335fd31b4617caacdbd1.jpeg

Hi all! I recently got my first AP girl! However I am having some trouble finding rocking horse shoes for her, it seems their popularity has dwindled over the past years (decade, even) and sadly I can't find any that would fit AP. Any pointer in the right direction is appreciated <3

Does anyone know where to find new or used VMF50/Yamato and Angel Philia dolls? Have VMF50/Yamato been permanently discontinued? I‘m considering a tan, brown or similarly colored doll in the future!

Then again, I could buy a brown/tan unpainted hull set and build my own without a head.

———————————————————
Although nobody asked, here’s a fun fact about the tan AP/Yamato dolls!

The brown and deeply suntan skinned dolls exclusive to Quarantotto and Yamato are inspired by the Japanese fashion subculture called Gyaru. Gyaru grew in popularity during the 1970s and 1990s and inspired by the tanned skin, blonde-haired and styles seen in western (American) movies in post-WW2 Japan.

The Gyaru fashion subculture is identifiable by tanned skin, blonde or similarly colored hair, bright makeup and accessories.

I got Yankii and Gyaru mixed up (somehow). Thanks to @Yumeiro for catching my mistake!

Sounds like Gyaru? Is it related?
