I did in fact go ahead and grabbed myself that H body and H2 chest for my boy plans while they are so readily available. I probably didn't make as good of a deal with the conversion there compared to yen, but it still felt pretty reasonable for a whole body and an additional chest piece.

I am definitely looking forward to finding out how soft skin feels like (and are already familiar with the advice of stuffing it with cotton or similar to preserve the shape, haha).

Oh, and on the topic of "modding", could someone please direct me to neck adapters? Preferably one that is meant for DD heads with the spring and screw if they are available, because that should work for all the possible options of heads I have at hand.

First, I found myself an adapter on Taobao, so that problem is already solved. But I have a question regarding optional hands. I do assume that the OB48/50 hands do for pefectly fine on the AP bodies? I only found 5 different hand poses, are there more or are there maybe even AP specific hands? I do like to have a lot of variety when it comes to hands, and 5 is a good start, but I definitely wouldn't say no to more.

Oh, also my body is already on the way to my superbuy warehouse, the chest piece sadly hasn't ben shipped yet, I think it is part of their February batch. So I will probably get both shipped to my after Chinese New Year.

Yes, OB48/50 hands will fit on AP no problem, but they only make them in Whitey and Super Whitey. Obitsu doesn’t make its own parts in Tan, although that shouldn’t be a problem for you since I think you said you were going with Whitey?

Obitsu has six hand parts in total. One pack comes with two sets of hands and the other comes with three. The default hands are sold separately and come with OB bodies, but I don’t know if they’re the default hands for AP (I’ve only ever purchased parts, not a full doll, so hopefully someone who has will chime in).

AP has a set of three proprietary hand parts, but they come with painted nails. Not sure if that works for your boy.

Yeah, these OB hand packs in Whitey are what I have in my cart currently, haha. But I do like these AP hands very much! As someone who usually puts some blushing and gloss on all their dolls hands for a more lively look that is exactly what I am going for. It looks very natural to me on that product picture as well rather than light pink nail polish. But hunting these down might not be the easiest task either I assume?

Yes, APs can use the OB50/48 hands no problem. My Ellie is using them too.

As @ragnamuffin mentioned, there are six different hand pose pairs in total. Which ones your AP comes with may vary between releases (or she may come with AP hands). E.g. my Ellie came with the OB50/48 three pack, but newer releases come with AP hands. Check the description of the release - the included hand types should be listed there.

If you're planning to change hands often, I recommend getting extra wrist joints for each hand. Since the hands are "hard" vinyl, you'll need a hair dryer if you want to change only them. With extra wrist joints, you prepare everything once, then just pull them out and stick the other ones in.

Sadly I can't really find or see any specifics to the included hands in the Dolk Taobao listing from which I ordered. It is listed as December batch, but it is just a body, no fullset, no head, so just from my usual experience I would assume that there are no extra hands included. Of course it would be a very pleasant surprise if they are.

Thankfully I am pretty used to the good old hair dryer method, but I will keep that in mind if even with that they are on the harder to change side. I hoped they might be as soft as the OB22/24 ones.

I had a look and it says it (December Type H body in Whitey on Dolk’s Taobao store) comes with three sets of blushed hands, so you don’t need to order the AP hand pack separately.

Niceee, these are some great news, then I'll just grab myself the set with the 3 poses from Obitsu, that will make for some good variation.

Hey guys is there a new internal frame for angel philias there's been rumors but I haven't seen anything and the current ones are pretty garbo does anyone have any info on this?

I haven't heard anything for a new angel philia frame, but there is a new obitsu frame for the GGR body. APs use the obitsu frame so maybe people were hoping they could use some parts for their APs.

I know you are probably not gonna be using the exact head used here in these pics for your custom, but for anyone curious I believe the head is a modified tan Type-T with a more cat like mouth. Its a very cute custom!  Makes me also want a boy AP, rip wallet and space.

Oh yes, now that you are saying it, I can definitely see that being a Type-T with an mouth mod, mmmaybe also a bit of eye modding to make them more narrow? But that might just appear like it due to the faceup. I would be confident enough to do a mouth mod, but not an additive eye mod.

I do think I will keep my eyes open for the blank head to be in stock again, even though I have some at home that I want to play around with.

Also, I am pretty interested in that AP boy tag. 👀

I am honestly surprised to hear someone calling the frame "garbo", I usually always hear people praising the obitsu frames a lot for both their range of poses and stability?

I got this one at the last Private Room and it's been perfectly safe even after about a week continuously on the doll. If you're too worried, they just released a white version as well.

I was thinking about playing it safe and getting the white one instead, but I do like the contrast on whitey skin with the blue a lot more. So I think I will put my trust in your review!

Don’t know if you saw, but they have boy bits available right now if you want to make yours anatomically correct.

Oh geez, I need this. Is there any good proxy service I could use to order it to the states?

Oh that is ... definitely intriguing. 👀 I'd prefer it if there would also be a "not exited" option in that selection, but i might as well just get these, with how unpredictable the in-stock items are on Quarantotto's side.

I quickly made myself a zenmarket account and hope my order goes through there, but if anyone has other recommendations for proxy shopping sites to use for shopping directly from Quarantotto I am all ears.

I might help once more with a look into their taobao store, it would be great if you could take a look which arms the body comes with. I definitely would like soft skin there as well and a bit of volume to the upper arms, so depending of what that body comes with that will be my target for a possible upgrade, haha.

Also, my zenmarket order for the boy bits seems to have gone through, yay!

It seems they’re just Obitsu 50 arms, but they are Soft Skin. I’ve attached a screenshot of the relevant part of the listing.

I might have just gone ahead and requested a price quote on fromjapan for Pink Drops 80. 

Because she has all the parts that I am interested in for a possible mix and match, and it seemed a lot more plausible to me to just ... get it all, instead of hoping for an eventual restock or be at the mercy of insane prices on the secondhand market. And she comes with the Type-H head which I'm super interested in for modding purposes.

I really love the look of the type I parts, I hope you enjoy them too! 

Honestly, I think that’s a good plan, especially if you’re interested in the head sculpt too— the lower I torso piece in particular I found difficult to get when it dropped on Quarantotto a few months ago (for mine I ended up just paying a serious markup on yahoo auctions Japan because I was desperate to have it…) 

As an aside, all these posts about making a boy AP inspired me to start on another one LOL (I can never have too many AP dolls apparently 😉)
