yohka, would it be possible to get a phot ocomparison of the VMF head with a DD head? I read that they wear 7 inch wigs and that's so small T_T I saw your gorgeous girl and wanted one, but I'd need it to look in scale with the rest of the DD family...

Here's a picture of my VMF50 OCIG #8 Eri (Type J head) on the 50cm Type E body and my DD2 with a DDH 05 head. The Eri wears a 7-8 wig and it's loose, but not bad. The 05 wears the wig from the resin Belldandy, which I think was a 9-10 (?) and is also a bit loose. The height difference is the actual difference in the height of the Obitsu 50cm body and the Volks DD2 body.

Eri&DD1.jpg

In this second image, the VMF has been raised to approximately the same height as the DD.

The wig style can seriously effect the apparent size of a head.

Eri&DD2.jpg

And finally the same two style heads without wigs.

Hi guys.

Anyone know how I can get this chest piece to fit or mod to my obitsu?

Seller says chest made to fit 50cm obitsu but alas the compatibility is almost zero.

The rod of the obitsu part doesn't fit the chest hole underneath the bust. Is carving a bigger hole the way to do it?

Also the neck of the chest is too long and doesn't fit the obitsu head. I took apart the bottom of the head and can sort of stick the neck through the skull but it's loose and doesn't sit well plus sits too high.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

If anyone knows a user who has worked with these parts please direct me for help.

Thanks guys

I remembered the chest parts has their own chest skeleton, maybe you need to take off the obitsu chest skeleton first, than pop the new chest parts.

It's just as yokha said.

You need to remove the internal chest part (the part the arms plug into). This part (http://parabox.jp/obitsu/50parts/50RP-F01WP-22.html) can be removed by holding the abdomen firmly so you can feel the spine part under the vinyl and twisting side to side while pulling up. Then the peg sticking out of the spine (This part, although most of it will be inside the abdomen vinyl- http://parabox.jp/obitsu/50parts/50RP-F01WP-23.html) goes in the hole under the new bust (your first picture). Sometimes the abdomen vinyl is to long at the top to fit completely into the bottom of the new bust. You can carefully trim it away (a little at a time) with a hobby knife.

Next there should be a hollow tube molded into the new bust with the ends visible in the shoulder sockets. The arms will go in there. If the arms are too loose, put a wrap or two of thin tape (like Scotch Magic Transparent) around the arm joint pegs to tighten that connection up. Not too much. The arms should be firm and move easily, but not too stiff.

Then remove the Obitsu neck piece from the head. Some heating of the head/neck area from the inside with a hair dryer might be necessary to remove the neck piece. The peg at the top of the new bust will now go up into the head. Here's where you'll have to get creative. The skinny peg on the new bust is designed so it can fit the smaller hole in DD heads. These "50cm size" busts also fit the DDS body. So with the peg inside the head, you'll need to bodge together something to hold the head on, a washer and a binder clip or a thick wrap of tape around the peg, or something. (I don't remember what I did. I'll have to crack Victoria's head open and look when I get home.)

Put that chest part and the neck piece in a plastic bag and put it where you can find it in case you need to go back to a regular vinyl bust.

This is my soft bust girl Victoria.

VickiBikini01.jpg

This is what's going on inside her head.

VicHead.jpg

What I did to secure her head on the stem of the soft bust:

First, disassemble the neck piece. Up in the bottom there is a small Phillips screw. Take that screw out and the whole thing will come a part.

006.jpg

You will want the locking collar and the little screw you just removed.

Next you will need a small flat washer. The washer should be small enough to fit in the recess of the top of the locking collar and the hole in the washer should be big enough to allow the screw to fit through but not let the screw's head to pass through. Take your little screw and the locking collar to the store so you get the right fit. If you go to a hardware store that sells individual washers, buy several as they will be pretty cheap. If you get only one washer you're guaranteed to drop it in the carpet and lose it.

Trial fit the head on the new bust's neck stem. Make a pencil mark even with the highest edges of the vinyl of the hole around the neck stem.

Trim the stem off above the pencil mark with a hack saw blade or hobby knife.

Next make a pilot hole in the top of the trimmed neck stem. This hole's diameter will be about half the diameter of the screw's threads. You can pick up a single drill bit when you pick up the washer. You won't need a drill to make this hole. You can twist the bit by hand into the top of the stem.

Place the washer in the top of the locking collar, put the screw through the washer and insert the screw into the hole you drilled in the neck stem. Tighten the screw down firmly on the washer. Don't tighten it too much as you can strip out the hole.

Thank you all very much. I have been told on Facebook that the dd heads do not fit from neck size and so on . Thanks a lot for the pics . Now I can imagine it much better how it would look lol . After searching the Web about tan dd heads ...I know now they do newly not exist. Sadly , my body is a tan body . I think I will give my girl at first a new face up and see how she fit .

Is the original face up easy to remove?I have only done face ups on resin heads before . This was always easy to remove .

Maybe I just touch up the original face up and do not remove it .

Thanks dears !

K2 your post was exceptionally detailed. Thank you very much!

The bust I think should be easy enough for my limited DIY skills but securing the head might be a challenge. I will take photos as I go along and post them up whether I am successful or not

I hope it all works as I am really excited to put this girl together. Once I know its all secure I will then hunt for a nice 50-04 head for her and wig. Then clothes and I'll post some pictures!

Thanks again for your patience and excellent instructions.

Since this thread is very useful for people with questions on these dolls and has TONS of great info in it, I decided it needed to be made sticky. So it's now here at the top of the forum so it's easily found.

Is that Rin? With a boob job?

Why yes, it's Rin (a Type G version).

All of yohka's amazing pictures convinced me I needed more Eri sculpts.

And a busty one at that.

They are the BEST!

001.jpg

They originally came with the Sonico Version 3. They were pink with little multi-color hearts. Some time later Angel Philia sold a limited number in black, pink, and white(?). They fit the AP/VMF high heel feet very nicely, very snug. You have to heat them to get them on properly. All Rin's poses in the Kizuna and Chitose post (viewtopic.php?f=51&t=14388&start=70#p205591) were done without supports. They are very stable.

I've only seen them on YJA once when someone was "parting out" a Sonico.

So keep an eye on the AP site. They may release more. Someday. I hope.

So, you consider Rin and Eri to be sculpt-sisters? I have Eri and Ran--the latter with a C2 bust--and while they certainly are similar, their mouths are very different. Side-by-side, they seem more like distant cousins, but that's probably due to my inexperienced eye and their dramatically different faceups, eyes and skin tones.

Yamato and AP say the two both use the Type J sculpt. Whether there are subtle mods or just radically different face-ups, I have to believe what they say.

Hi people, I need some advice.

So I have a Marina doll, and she uses the C torso and thigh. I really really want to get the "twisting" torso for her, but it only comes in size C2!! has anyone tried using a size C2 torso with size C thighs? or any other mismatching torso and thigh parts?

The Angel Philia dolls are the decendants of the Yamato VMF50s. Yamato gave each new set of parts a letter designation, Type A, Type B, Type D, etc. to Type G. For some reason they skipped "C". When Angel Philia took over and had Obitsu make new parts, they made them all "Type C" parts with each new part they added a number to the "C". So the "2" in C2 is just a part designation, not a size. It's the 2nd torso in their C series. There are "Type C" busts numbering 1-5 and "Type C" torsos numbering 1-3, all fit with the other C type parts. I would only be concerned with matching the newer Type H torso with other thighs (That's not to say it won't work, just that I haven't done it).

You should be good matching a C2 torso with C thighs.

its works for ap skin, but sadly its effect the blush, but not the tan cos the tan was the vinyl original color.
