Alphakitty Posted April 22, 2011 (edited) Getting Noumi was a long, uphill battle. SirNarwhal and I wanted her the moment we saw her, and I've wanted an MDD to hang out with our girls for quite some time so we thought she'd be a perfect edition. But we lost the US lottery AND the International lottery, and we also couldn't get one from Dollfie World as she lost on all 10 of her entries for Noumi! We ended up getting her from Yahoo Japan well over a month after her release, and for a bit more than retail, but now that she is here it was totally worth it! We took some quick pictures of her as soon as we got her dressed. She's painfully adorable, and her eyes are so vivid! They almost glow. Though I have to say that the MDD bodies are really poor for posing, it took forever to get her to stand on her own. I'll probably do the mod with the kips down the line! Galvatim Posted April 22, 2011 Congrats! Kudo is really adorable! It's true, the MDD body can be challenging to pose. I've found that Louise's body suit plus thigh highs tend to help pull the joints together.
Nakitaninja Posted April 22, 2011 I really dig that bat barrette! She's very cute~ Yes, the MDD bodies can be super tough to work with and I have had to buy a mini screw driver to repeatedly tighten joints! She look like she was worth the wait- congrats and enjoy~ *^^*
jun97 Posted April 22, 2011 Congrats! It looked like she was so hard to get! But that makes her more precious.

baldylox Posted April 23, 2011 This girl is quite lovely and I can see why she is so popular! She has cornered the market on CUTE! I know the MDD body can be a pain since I used one a few times recently but it's not horrible to me. You seem to have the hang of posing it. Congrats on getting her home! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

SirNarwhal Posted April 23, 2011 I loves me some Noumi! And posing wise, she wasn't too bad; it's just the head that kind of swivels around with not much friction. Can't wait to take more pictures of her in her like 5 other outfits we have for her =D
Alphakitty Posted April 23, 2011 She's so cute! Too bad about MDD posing, I think they're really adorable. Congrats on getting her The problem with posing them is that their joints are very loose, so getting them to stand is a pain in the butt. Her head also flops around quite a bit! I think I'm just gonna use the Volks kips on her ankle and knee joints, and get her a new neck joint as well because she badly needs one. It's kind of funny that they are built so differently, Volks knows how to build better joints obviously so I wonder why they don't just apply that to the MDD body? It's not that it isn't worth a try... but because of the way the DDs are made I don't think kips will work? I believe those are specifically for strung dolls like SDs and they are made to thread the string through the middle? Like I said, I haven't tried so I would love to know if it actually works or not. Make sure to take pictures and let us know if it does! If you are looking for a neck replacement part the ones that CoolCat makes are very nice. As always using a mini screwdriver for the knees should fix some of your standing issues. They'll become loose again but it does fix it for a time. Yeah, the quality difference is really something, right? I totally feel ya on that one. At any rate, she's extremely cute. I wonder what her head would look like on a DDS body? According to this post, the kips do work! http://puppy52dolls.com/tutorial/kips/ I'm really hoping it does work, because I'd love to be able to pose Noumi in more interesting ways. And I actually plan on popping her head on all of my other bodies! So soon enough we'll have shots up of Noumi's head on a DDII, DDS, and DDdy. It'll be like a timeline of her growing up! Pupi Posted April 24, 2011 If you have a problem with her knee joints you should use kips: those little silicon discs endure the joints and allow MDD bodies to stand without problems. Latooni have them, but one of them broke twice! Anyway, Noumi is so cute^^ Make many pictures of her! enthusiast pasta girl - she/her - power bi Mini Mode Lab

This was the first doll we ever went for in the lottery, and I must admit that we could have been more informed. ^^; An entry at Kerbey Lane could have saved us a whole lot of heartache over this gal!
