Guest Posted May 30, 2011 My parents reacted rather warmly, and my siblings like them as well . So far, so good!
Suigetsu Posted May 30, 2011 My family thought that my DD collection was too expensive and strange. My boyfriend says he thinks they're scary. I have to admit when I first found out I won the lottery to get Sakura, my first girl, I had this concern about myself. I loved how they looked but what if, at night, I worried about them looking at me. Or if I got up in the middle of the night and saw her.... hehe Of course, as soon as I got her I couldn't help but hug her!!!! I can't see how you can be afraid of them but I'm not one to judge - I'm afraid of clowns and frogs. haha I had the same thoughts! As soon as I bought Yuki and was waiting for her to get to my house, I was wondering if I would be creeped out by a little person.
OtakuDepot Posted May 30, 2011 I had the same thoughts! As soon as I bought Yuki and was waiting for her to get to my house, I was wondering if I would be creeped out by a little person. I'm glad I wasn't the only one. As a kid I remember one of my Aunts had a number of dolls in a room and it freaked me out to go in there. I guess if you don't have any attachment to the dolls it may do that for some people but my girls are too sweet!!!! I actually wondered the same thing too when I started with resin dolls... and honestly... some of them do creep me out (I've actually sold dolls for this reason), they're too realistic... I think that's why I prefer the DDs, or very anime styled resins (like most of Volks)... my brain associates them with animation... not living things. AntElitist Posted June 2, 2011 I find some resins doll very beautiful. Like some from Luts or even Super Dollfie themselves. When I first bought Mashiro, my father was like "Oh wow I seen some pictures of these dolls on the net, they are very beautiful" but I could not escape the question about her price haha. Had to tell him the truth about it My mom was like "Now you are playing with dolls" orz Younger brothers are "anything" and older sisters are also "Dayum good quality" So yeah lol
