Mai's eyes

No not THOSE "eyes"!!

 

Mai has been one girl that I just cannot seem to settle on a permanent eye color or style for. Almost all my other girls have stayed the same eye color since they arrived. Only Yukino and Mai have really changed their eyes out, Mai moreso than Yukino.

 

So this leads me to a new set of eyes I have in Mai. But first, a little history of how Mai has looked over her time with me.

 

When she first arrived, she came with her default eyes but had some pretty reddish/orange ones already in her head.

I then wanted to see her in her defaults so I tried those out....

I liked her defaults but thought she needed a bit more pizzazz. So I got some custom ones and tried on some green eyes.

I rather liked those eyes on her too but I had more than a few people say she looked really odd with them. So I swapped them back to the red eyes for a long time.

 

Enter Saber Extra. She actually came with TWO sets of eyes... so I now had Extra's extras! What to do with them tho? I really love the green eyes Saber has in now and don't plan on changing those out. So guess who gets to try out the Extras??

So what do yall think? I'm not sure she will keep these forever but I certainly think they look good on her.

Those have such lovely color! They do change the feel of her though; she seems somehow more serious/badass with these green ones in. (Conversely I think her defaults give her the gentlest look out of the lot you've tried on her so far.) I thin Saber'd better watch her step, because this new Mai is not a girl to be messed with!

Heh, I also thought she looked more mature and serious with these. Funny we thought the same thing. I also agree about her defaults... she seems VERY gentle and/or shy with those. But I still think I like the reds she came with, those have grown on me quite a bit.

 

I'm sure Saber will have run ins with Ryomou and Mai soon enuff.... she is still recuperating form her Maid Brigade Induction. More on that soon!

Thank you very much! I really didn't see the whole "badass" angle until Poofie mentioned it. Now it seems everyone is seeing this. I do have her set as one of my badass fighters anyways so maybe these really help that image more! Hmmm... I may have to let yall see a sneek peek pic of her in her Maid outfit with these eyes. Talk about looking the part.....

Thank you! I agree with you about the eyes not looking right in Saber Extra. I've seen pics of her in them online and compared to her other greens, these aren't as nice in my opinion. But I do like them on Mai for sure. I'm not positive that these are my faves yet as I love her in red.... but these are fast becoming favorites.

Heh, I had thought of that but figured I'd have Mai's name in there since she doesn't get a ton of posts to herself. And I will make sure to take some pics of her in the default wig this weekend.

I really like her defaults too, they have a nice, soft look to them. But for my version of her, she needs something a bit more outstanding. That's why I kept her with the reddish eyes for so long.... they catch your attention more easily.

 

You're like the 4th person to mention a darker wig now so I suppose I really DO have to try that out and share pics.

 

We must be on similar wavelengths then if you were wondering who got these eyes! Ha ha!

Thank you! I'll take some pics of her in her default wig this weekend and see how they look. She is still in her maid outfit tho so she may look completely over the top badass with darker hair and that uniform.

I've always loved your eye choices for Mai. I really liked her reddish/orange ones along with her default and even the custom made ones.

 

But Extra's extra eyes really look stunning on her. Her face really pops with those exquisite eyes. These are a fantasic choice for. Plus you captured such lovely pictures showing off her new eyes.

 

I will jump on the dark hair bandwagon and say it would be nice to see how darker hair would look with these. Either way Mai looks absolutely gorgeous with her new eyes.

Well Sir! I think you finally found the perfect eyes for her. Of all the eyes you've tried on her I think these are the one that truly belong.

Ahh! My favorites were the red ones up until the very end... Extra's eyes are gorgeous! And they look great in her!
