DDH-07!

actually.. scratch that (badump pssssshhh). I'm wondering if it's just part of the faceup in general or the head mold.. either I'm looking at it for too long or i'm starting to see it under the other eye too...XD (or i'm going crazy. either one is applicable)

 

Take a picture of it. I've got a DDH-07 pre-paint. I can tell you if yours looks like mine or not to be sure if that's actual an error. Sure others here could do the same.

well - the thing is it's really hard to photograph. I tried to do it without the flash b/c it just doesn't show up unless it's held at an angle. Since it's so hard to photo I doubt volksusa will let me swap it out. I can't see it unless I really look for it, but at the same time.. I spent 121$ on this plus (blech...) 16$ shipping! lol

maybe it's easier to see on my actual flickr page I dunno. I looked again at the other eye in a better light and I don't see the same scratch/discoloration/whatever it is. maybe those kind of marks are normal with dd heads and i just never noticed? but it's like a ghost line... you can just barely see it, maybe they got a scratch on it when they were packaging them after the faceup? /shrug

I took a set of pics of the whole head rotating to make an animated gif or something, but I just haven't had time to put it together.

Hmm, I think I can somewhat see it. Is it a very faint black line?

Yeah, I have a messed up Saber Alter v2 wig. It's not cut right and everything's off center. It came that way when I got her new.

 

I think I see the line too. Knowing Volks' history for things like this, most likely they won't do anything about it. They only seem to take returns if something is blatantly broken on a doll body (like cracked arms or something). I've never heard of them replacing heads with messed up faceups or messed up wigs or stained clothes or anything. It doesn't hurt to ask though. At worst, they'll say no. You'd better ask soon though - Volks only will take something back (if they even agree to it) within 2 weeks of you receiving it.

They actually did replace my head (Haruka Niimi) because there was a scuff on the nose and a small indent in the upper lip.

I really love her! She's so pretty and I really hope to get her someday.

Any idea if this is still available in Volks stores or the chances of finding it in other Dollfie parts stores in Japan? Or is eBay the only option left? ; /

DDH-07 was a pre-order item at the end of last year, and it has never (yet) been in the stores officially. So no, you won't find them in Volks. Possible to find second-hand in Mandarake if one happens to come in at that time.

 

You can also find DDH-05, 06 Magical Ruby, and 07s on the marketplace here (several threads) or on other doll marketplaces elsewhere.

For a wider range of heads, you can bookmark this search which lists most of them from highest to lowest price. I said most of them because sometimes people might list theirs in wrong categories

I should add that for a short period of time Volks USA had some of the pre-painted head in stock in March. That is where I got mine. It never hurts to check in from time to time. I had to call and ask about it to find out.

I hoped they will make 07 standard head but I was wrong :/

Now I have to keep my eyes open to find the blank one I need for a project XD

DDH-07 is the only head with small, not wide eyes (I'm getting tired of them) and it reminds me of Saber O_O I wish Volks make it standart because making dolls with same 07 heads and selling them as complete dolls for 600-700 $ is kinda unfairly.
