DDH-07!

Ah, nice! It's good to have a mature option with narrow eyes. Reminds me of Beatrice, but with a thinner mouth.

I'm pleased that Volks has released another head for customizing so soon after 06. Maybe one day there will be as many DD options as there are for FCS

Yeah, I get the Beato vibes too. We really did need something to fill the mature niche in the standard heads; the closest to that currently has been the 02, and even that one's pretty cutesy with many faceups. Looking forward to what other people end up doing with her (and am curious what she'll look like in WS), but I'm not sure that her popularity will be all that evident until we're all sure that the Great Base Body Drought has ended. ^^;

 

I noticed they're still skipping 05, too. WTF Volks? I know some people are saying that it's because of the Sirius/Yumi/Kyoko head having the 05 mold number, but the mold numbers and the option head numbers really have nothing to do with each other. 03's mold number is actually 7. 04 is 40-something and 06 is 60-something! So I doubt that's the reason.

It looks pretty nice. As others have said, it has a mature look and resembles Beato a bit. Interesting that they are releasing another head.... but I wonder if it will be made in number higher than 20? Seems Volks can't make anymore of one item than that right now.

 

One thing that's been bugging me recently..... why does everyone freak out so much about the 05 number head being missing from the lineup? It's just a number.... who says you have to number things in perfect sequence? What if they went from the 06 to an 09? Would everyone still think conspiracies were afoot? Would it mean we're all going to die before the end of the year? Seriously, I can't understand all the uproar and questioning on Volks skipping one number in their lineup of heads. Does it really matter?

It's not that it technically matters, but it is pretty weird. Last year when the number was first skipped, I assumed they'd been trying to convert a limited head to a standard one. (01 and 02 were originally used for limited, licensed releases, so there is precedent for that to occur.) Now, though, I'm wondering if the Volks people have just collectively lost their marbles.

haha I only say that Sirius/Yumi/Kyoko head mold is DDH-05 to me since my friend and I have a dozen of this head mold in normal skin and white skin. I consider it an option part head in my mind. I like the new DDH-07. I want to see what artists do with it.

And because these were early days of DD line, maybe Volks decided to split/change the numbering later.

Anyone knows, when Volks offered blank option heads for sale for the first time?

I read before the 02 head with open and closed eye holes and the rooted hair head were released along side the DDII as standard at Dolpa Kyoto 3 April 2, 2005. The previous DDI base body came with a blank head more like the rooted hair head (but with no hair) than the closed eye hole heads. The eye area was smooth. It looked like a 01 head or maybe more accurately like a giant version of the 1/6th scale Dollfie head.

its a must have head! xD I guess people have seen there is a resemblance with DD Beato + DDH-06 and i could see a bit of saber-ish for the lips? well anyway xD i pretty much like her Would love to have her preferrably with out the face-up lol and it made me laugh about the issue volks skipped DDH-05 xD

 

Btw I have a question, since the I didn't saw how much the DDH-06 cost how much do you guys think DDH-07 would cost?

If prices stay the same, when the DDH-07 comes to Volks USA, it should be $42. We don't get the until months after the Dollfie Dream Gathering in October. The DDH-06 showed up in December at Volks USA.

I guess volks wont lower the value when shipping >.< though I could around 2 of the heads if that so xD do they also sell this in volks intl site?

The new head will come to Volks International months before Volks USA. The open eye hole heads are 3990 yen now, so it could be that price too.

I might grab 1 or 2 heads then xD Thanks mituski!

Her eye shape is most intriguing, I can't wait to see blank pictures. If the eye shape is right, she will work much better for the custom I've been plotting then a dd06 would.

Oh, I was very excited, but I do not think she is the doll for me. Oh well, I like cutesy-young dolls and we know there are plenty of other options, another mature head is great for those who want one!

I like the comparisons... Beato and the DDH-07 look a bit more "mature" than the DDH-06, imo.

(I'm not sure if it's the face-up, or the more pronounced pointed chins on Beato and the -07, compared to the -06.... opinions?.. )

It's in the eye shape and upper eyelid. The heavier upper eyelid is an indicator of maturity in women, along with certain other physical changes ^_^;

Also 06 has very large, wide-open eyes that appear more youthful. Her eyes are lower, giving her a large cranium and child-like facial proportions.

What a gorgeous face. She is beautiful. I can't wait to see customs done using this sculpt.

I think the chin/cheek shape plays a role too though. The rounder faces are more reminiscent of people that still have "baby fat", so the rounder faces usually feel younger. Plus, on Beatrice and the 07 there's less eye relative to the vertical space of the face, so the eyes seem smaller in proportion, another thing that makes faces seem more mature. (Alna has this too.) And the 06 has a lot less nose bridge than 07, Beatrice, and Alna, which while not exactly a natural thing in real life in anime has come to indicate younger characters.
