Luckily, it was not that crowded. I can only speak from my experience but so far I have yet to catch any grief for having my girls out and taking pics of them. Sure, people may think to themselves that it's weird for a grown man to be doing this but noone will come over and say anything about it. Anytime anyone *has* come up to me, it's to say the girls were pretty or to ask what they were or even about what camera and such I am using. I find that the more open and nice you are, the easier it is for people to accept what they see. I also find that the more camera equipment youhave with you, the more professional you look and the less likely people are to ask dumb questions. But maybe the reason *I* don't get anyone giving me lip is because of how I look. I'm 5 foot 11, 230 pounds with a shaved head and ghoatee. I think that has something to do with it... The only trouble I had was keeping her hair neat and tidy since I forgot to bring her comb I also missed in on international site. It went faster than we can say "dollfie" Imho taking pictures of nendoroid and PVC figure ( depends on what kind of figure ) in crowded place tends to attract less attention, because of their size. Dollfie on the other hand is huge, so people are more attracted to it. Also, I think people see dollfies as dolls, while nendoroid and pvc figures as toys/ statues. So when people see you walking around holding a big doll, people tends to pay more attention especially if you're a guy, like me I saw these pics on Flickr a day ago and was blown away by how gorgeous Beatrice looks.
