fyrlandt Posted July 24, 2012 Hi, recently just got saber extra but i was wondering if her greaves could possibly stain her legs?
T-Rho Posted July 31, 2012 The greaves are gold so I would not think that to be a colour that would stain easily. I just got my Saber Extra so I have not tried it yet to be certain. I will try them out when I get home and I can let you know what I find ************************************** DD's: Aoife, Maeve, Sinead, Claire, Merida, Orla, Alana (arrived) T-Rho http://kaitekinamafura.wordpress.com - Blog https://kaitekinamafura.storenvy.com - Store
baldylox Posted July 31, 2012 So far I've had Saber Extra in her default set a few times and left her in it for a few days each time. And she hasn't had any marks left on her legs at all from her armor. So I think you'll be ok with that. The only thing that bugs me about her armor is her boots.... the holes the leg pegs go into are too small on mine and I had to sand down the lower pegs the feet slide into to make them go in like they should. And in doing that, her regular bare feet are a bit looser now. Thanks Volks for making stuff fit sooooo well. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. puxlavoix Posted July 31, 2012 I dont think so, they really made a good job this time concerning stain prevention. When she arrived she wore her full default outfit for 2 months straight without any sign of stains... Be careful though, her sword Aestus Estus did stain her hands a little. Anna-neko Posted August 4, 2012 had Saber in armor for weeks - the armor did not stain But if you put a sword into her bare hands - it will stain there ya go, another tiny note of confidence tossed into the pile
battrastard Posted August 5, 2012 Be careful though, her sword Aestus Estus did stain her hands a little. But if you put a sword into her bare hands - it will stain Just a thought, would a thin coat of clear nail polish help prevent that? Or would it make the handle look too shiny? *my two cents worth* "Madness takes it's toll, Please have exact change!"
XOHimitsuOX Posted August 5, 2012 I just dressed Saber Extra minus her armor, as i encountered the same problem as Baldylox. Trying to put on her boots it wasn't going in much, so i decided to pull it off and ended up pull out the rod too. Rather than trying to force it on, just gave up. Maybe I will buy another set of legs for the boots. As i was taking off the greaves i noticed some marks. They're not stains but just paint transfer from the inside of the greaves as it rubbed against the legs. Which i removed with a tissue and rubbing alcohol. One thing that bothered me with the outfit, was those shoulder pads. It was so tight it took me a while to put on. Anyone else had troubles, or was it just me

Anyone else had troubles, or was it just me Yes, the shoulder pads are a problem! Struggled with mine a good 10 minutes, and thats after taking one whole arm off to make it easier too The boots pulling out with the rod - yawp, happened to me too. It happens with both Extra's armor AND original-Saber's silver armor. It actually got stuck reaaaaaaaaaaall good, that even with heating up the vinyl a lil to help it still took a long time of nudging back and forth before it popped out (and thats after accidentally broke a piece of the boot's armor from the force of pulling) Just a thought, would a thin coat of clear nail polish help prevent that? Or would it make the handle look too shiny? I just wrapped the handle in a piece of tissue... Anyone gettin too close to see that much detail in Saber's hand would have gotten an eye full blade anyway

Anyone else had troubles, or was it just me Sigh, it seems you had the same issues I did with those lower leg pegs. BOTH of mine came loose from under the knee area. While they do go back in and stay well enuff, they can still come out with minimal force. My major issue now is that since those boots wouldn't go in easily, I sanded down the pegs they slide onto. And I made sure to not take much material off either. I decided I better test the normal feet too just in case and I'm glad I did because even tho the armored boots were STILL kinda tight going on, the regular feet were now loose. They aren't as bad as to fall out or anything but they won't hold their positions well if you bump into them or anything. They spin around super easy and it bugs me to no end. So I may do like you and order replacements in the near future. That way I can use the new legs for her regular feet and the older ones for the boots and armor. And I too had issues with those puffy sleeves. The first time I put them on it took about 10 minutes of fitting and adjusting, the second time was a bit less. Still annoying to do tho. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
Migon Posted August 9, 2012 I found no stains at all from the greaves only a little bit of the paint rubbed of on the legs as they moved around, removed them with an eraser. Her boots do fit really tight on the pegs, when I removed the boots the pegs came out with them also, put them in again and they do not come lose again unless I put the boots on and remove them. The shoulder pads was quite a pain to put on and took the longest when I was dressing her. They fit really tightly on the arms and shoulders. My Saber collection. What I ended up doing was wrap it in transparent tape

The left one was ok, but the right boot was too tight and would not go all the way resulting in one leg being very noticeable shorter than the other. It turned out there was some excess material on the inner part of the black plastic the leg peg slides into, preventing the peg from going in all the way. Easily removed it with a blade and sanded it for a smother finish and voila! I hope this helps, sorry for the lack of a pictures to show but im currently at work, later today ill post a pic if theres any doubt.
T-Rho Posted August 11, 2012 Question - Has anyone had trouble getting Saber's Extra's wig on ? I tried the greaves and didn't really have an issue, but the wig seriously will not fit on her noggin and with the spots it shows you to pull on the wig, I still can't get it on ... ************************************** DD's: Aoife, Maeve, Sinead, Claire, Merida, Orla, Alana (arrived) T-Rho http://kaitekinamafura.wordpress.com - Blog https://kaitekinamafura.storenvy.com - Store

I tried the greaves and didn't really have an issue, but the wig seriously will not fit on her noggin and with the spots it shows you to pull on the wig, I still can't get it on ... I too had trouble putting the wig on. It's a tight fit and there's no elastic in the wig to help you put it on. I put it on as instructed and slowly eased the back on. I didn't get a good fitting, but anyway she's wearing a different wig now
helios01 Posted August 23, 2012 i thought it was only textiles that could stain dds now i have another level to worry about
Anna-neko Posted August 23, 2012 i thought it was only textiles that could stain dds now i have another level to worry about Well in this case, its the vinyl paint issues, just like nendos or other figures can sometimes stain from their own pieces. Like K-on girls havin a stain on their leg where the paint of the skirt transferred... If your DD is holding .. i dunno. . a food eraser or tv remote - no paint is gonna be staining, she'll be fine
rukitron Posted September 1, 2012 I haven't bothered getting her in her default gear, seems almost like a chore to do. She seems happy just lounging around not wearing much. I should just sell that stuff already.
