Hook help!

Recommended Posts

Hi I was about to get a DDII body but then realised something so wanted to ask a question first.

I just noticed she has a hook at the top of her next not a peg, I can tell by her joints she is a DDII so how would I go about getting the correct parts to make her back to normal?? She is white skin

Probably You will have to buy a replacement neck part for DDII, from Coolcat for example.

Many DD hybrids with resin heads have the elastic just looped around the torso part of the internal DDII skeleton and only the neck part is removed.

You may ask the owner to be sure. Maybe she/he even has the neck part stored somewhere.

Thankyou! She doesn't have the old neck joint anymore. This is a shot of the neck joint

Could anyone point me in the direction/give me a link of what I would need to buy for white skin?

If im not mistaken, the original neckjoint has been gutted to make room for the cord.

Still should be able to get it fixed with a standard neckpiece swap with the cool cats one for instance.

Unless there is no nasty stuff done to the balljoint connection on the upper torso piece that you bolt the neckjoint to.

Silly question... couldn't you just use the string+hook instead of putting back in the peg?

Its possible, but it would probably be a bit of a pain trying to fish the elastic cord through the DD head to keep it tight on the neck.

If someone has already put an s-hook and elastic into that body, wouldn't it just be cheaper and easier to get one of these from Volks?

They are the neck-peg adapter so that you can put DDII heads onto the strung DDI body.

I have this and I don't think it would work on DDII body. Coolcat neck adapter will be better anyway

Not to mention it's currently out of stock.

I have one laying around.... I bought it in case I ever got my hands on a DDI body.

Hee hee, don't feel bad! I bought one too when Rei was on her DDI body but I never used it because I swapped out her head to a DDII and never used the DDI again.

Any of you owning the piece can take a picture of it? I can't see it properly because the plastic is shinny just in the end of the piece and I own a DD1 body, so maybe it would work well for me.

I bought a DDII body and came with a hook on just like the one got Beth did. I don't have much money to invest in my dolls so I have kept it with the rubber. I passed it through the headhole with a crocket needle, made a knot inside the head and put the hook the rubber not to slip in through the hole. It's a temporary solution (I hope!) but it works and the head moves naturally. I can take a picture if you need it

I'll have to go digging for it but I think I know *about* where it is in my accessory container. If I can locate it, I'll take a pic of it for you.

Thank you Billy, I've never seen that piece before! I don't know if it's available at Volks International Store.

Here you are! I took these on my phone and uploaded them to Flickr. The first one is the main piece in the package. I have yet to open it since I didn't need it.

And this pic shows the piece where the slot is for the string or hook to go.

Hopefully this gives you an idea of what to look for.

Thank you so much Billy! Now I understand how it works. I think it would be useful for my DD1 body since changing it's head is a pain
