AerynAerie Posted July 27, 2012 I'm having the hardest time trying to find clothes for my Mariko. She's my first dollfie dream so it's really quite frustrating. Everything is either too small or just fits very poorly. I even tried an SID dress and it gaps on the sides and is too long. Thank you in advance for helping!!! m( _ _ )m
Nekopon Posted July 28, 2012 Are you purchasing official Volks clothing? Anything that is labeled to fit DD large bust should work with her. Mariko was Mt second doll and I think she has the biggest closet compared to my other daughters!
AerynAerie Posted July 28, 2012 No, they are things I was buying off the market place. Regular SD13 clothes (like my NoNo wears) Thank you though. I'll try to find some Volks things specifically for DD-L
baldylox Posted July 28, 2012 I have a Shapely L-bust girl too and she can wear all sorts of things from Alices Collections, Mint On Card, Cool Cats and of course Volks. Some of the stuff from Alices can be a little tight across her chest but nothing too bad. Here are the main girl outfits from them: http://www.alicescollections.com/clothes-girl-outfits-c-3_28.html?zenid=0vne81autunafgs17hcpj3g790 You can also find nice stuff from Jessica at Nightfall here: http://nightfallwalker.web.fc2.com/frame.htm Cool Cats also has a nice selection too: http://us.sk-coolcat.com/front/bin/ptdetail.phtml?Part=bjd15&Category=185695 http://us.sk-coolcat.com/front/bin/ptdetail.phtml?Part=bjd11&Category=185695 http://us.sk-coolcat.com/front/bin/ptdetail.phtml?Part=bjd08&Category=185695 http://us.sk-coolcat.com/front/bin/ptdetail.phtml?Part=bjd16&Category=185695 Mint On Card has very similar stuff to Alices Collections but not as much variety. But they are in Michigan so shipping is fast and way cheaper. http://www.mintoncardinc.com/dolls/browse.php?toys=shop&BJD=58&name=Large+Girls+58+-+60cm&cbh=75 Hopefully that will get you started on clothing for your Mariko. If you have questions on certain outfits and if they will fit her, link to them here and we'll see if anyone has that set and knows how it fits. AerynAerie Posted July 28, 2012 Thank you so much for the links!!! I didn't want to come right out and say I was hoping for something cheaper than 2nd hand Volks...
baldylox Posted July 28, 2012 Thank you so much for the links!!!I didn't want to come right out and say I was hoping for something cheaper than 2nd hand Volks... You're welcome! It can be hard finding things when you first start out in this hobby. I know when I first got my DDdy Manami, I could NEVER find anything non Volks to fit her curvy body. But after a while I found some of the sites I linked you and was able to get her nice outfits. Having a girl with a bigger top is a little harder to find clothing for but nowadays there are loads of nice stuff besides Volks. And don't feel bad at all for wanting to get less expensive clothing! I sure can't afford all Volks clothes for my girls. It's so much nicer to have stuff thats affordable for them, it means you can buy MORE outfits! archangeli Posted July 28, 2012 It's a bit challenging to find non-Volks (i.e. not $$$$$!!! >___<") things to fit the L-bust sometimes. Most 1:3 bjd things will fit in the bust, but will be loose in the waist. If you're handy with a sewing maching you can take in things like t-shirts and dresses so that they fit better -but sometimes I "cheat" and carefully pin things at the back with small safety pins. RaveOfNightmares Posted July 28, 2012 Sometimes having things a little tighter up top or a little loose in the waist is what makes a particular look work. 21 DD girls: Mio, Marina, Yui, Yoko, Nia, Lily, Arisu, Akina, Momo, Arisa, Yukina, Ayaka, Niimi, Eri, Millefeuille, Ekisu, Chitose, Miyabi, KOS-MOS v.4, Hatsune Miku and God Eater Alisa. 2B in a hopeful future.
