Broken body?

Recommended Posts

I just got my DD Sendo Erika last 20th of March 2012 knowing she is my only one DD. Nothing more I could ask for than to have a DD. July is already near the end and this time it kinda bothers me... Changing the outfit of my DD I've always noticed this when I got her..

click to link to have a closer look for the arms http://i564.photobucket.com/albums/ss88/konoka_konoe_23/DSC_0187.jpg

I've tried sticking it in maybe its just a loose joint or what but it always end up with this kind of body, it just bothers me though I could pose her in different kind of way.

Is your problem with the left arm not going in all the way? I'm not sure if that's what you mean here. If so, try sanding down the arm pegs just a little bit to see if it will slide into the shoulder tube a little further. If that doesn't work, maybe the bust just needs to be shifted over to her left more. You may have to take her bust off the inner plate and see if theres an issue under that but I don't think there will be.

Try those things and see hwo it goes, then let us know what happens.

yup that is my probem >.< how do you do that? :o I'm too scared to open up her body >.< seems to me that her left arm joint is a bit bigger than the right one. Maybe its volks problem? I think the bust isn't the problem here, just her left arm

Do you have a hair dryer? You can heat up the bust, making it easier to take off the inner plate. Then heat up and remove the inner plate. Of course, first you'll take off her head and arms. It's pretty common for older DDs' spines to go out of alignment, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what's really going on here.

I know it can be scary the first time you take your girl apart, I was extremely worried I'd break something when I had to do it on Manami. But it's really not that hard to do if you just take your time. For sanding down the arm peg, all you need to do is pull her left arm out of it's socket. Do that by straightening her arm out to her side and then pulling gently while twisting the arm in its socket. It will take a few times of spinning it to get it all the way out but the DDII body is VERY strong so don't worry about causing any damage here since you're being careful.

Then get some 600-800 grit sandpaper and sand down the peg by wrapping the sandpaper around the peg and twisting it around. Don't go crazy with the sanding, just do small bits at a time. Sand it for about 10 seconds and then test fit it in her socket. If it still feels tight, sand it again for 5 seconds and test again. Do this until the arm slides in easier but make sure you don't over sand it or it will be too loose and then it won't hold any poses correctly.

I didn't really think about the spine being out of alignment but that's a very good possibility. Good idea Galvatim!

Galvatim is right about using a hairdryer to get the bust piece off more easily. Again, these parts are pretty tough on a DDII so you shouldn't have any issues here. Check the lower spine down in her lower torso and hip area and see if it's been bent or pushed over to one side. If it is, you can straighten it back out and she'll be good as new.

This is actually a tutorial on how to change a DD bust. But it has pictures and shows how to properly remove a DD's arms

http://site.volksusa.com/sumikatimes/2011/11/02/how-to-change-the-dd-or-mdd-bust-part/#more-8908

Hope this helps.

Oh thank you DefectiveAngel! it sure does helps me perhaps later I shall start doing it with Soleil >.< it might hurt her a bit since it's her first time >.< Now if I did this I can now think whether she's getting a L bust xD

I'm really glad I could help you out. ^_^

It is pretty scary when you first take your girl apart like this. I just did this for the first time ever with Rina a few weeks ago. I was really worried I was going to mess something up, but thankfully everything went very smooth. Now Rina has a new bust and doesn't have to suffer anymore with that old stained one.

I wish you the best of luck fixing Soleil back up. I'm sure everything will go just fine. Especially if you follow that guide I linked you to.

Success with the tutorial though..i'm now really wondering why is her body like this...

DSC_0005-1.jpg

DSC_0006-1.jpg

as you can see on the left side of her shoulder >.<

aside from that I'm wondering why is her body not in the same date? her head is written for 2007 and then the ff photos:

her M bust is written as 2003:

DSC_0007-1.jpg

and her body itself is written 2004:

meeeeeh -.- I take it back -.- I did have successfully managed to fix her internal frame though her left arm still looks the same as the 1st photo I've posted I think the joint/circular thing connecting the shoulder and arm is the problem perhaps?

Edited: aha! found the problem! you could move side to side the internal frame of her shoulder but then I can manage to just adjust it every now and then unlike when I haven't fixed her internal frame
