Hello from the Netherlands

Hi everybody, I hope everyone is enjoying a lazy or DD playful Sunday.

I'm Stella and live in the Netherlands (city: Purmerend near Amsterdam) and so far I've been collecting many kinds of dolls but the past few years mostly BJDs and related dolls.

It took me a while to really appreciate the Dollfie Dreams but now that I do I can't wait to see which one will be my first.

To join this community is so cool, here I can find many answers to a lot of questions I have about this (to me) new doll. I looooove the poseability of them and the expressions they have.

Thanks for "listening" and see you around here on the board

Welcome! What made you decide about DDs? ^^

You mention their poseability and expressions?

Thank you GabrielVH for welcoming me

Yes I like the DDs for holding their poses and the animatic faces. It's as if they stepped right out of a manga book or anime movie.

But most of all: I like diversaty in my collection and nor me or my friends own one yet.

Plus she will come in handy on fairs that I attend as a seller of doll and BJD products where she can show some DD clothes, shoes, wigs etc. (from Cool Cat) that I will add to the shop this year.

I hope I gave answeres to all your questions

Thank you for your interest.

Stella

Welcome aboard! Glad to see another person moving from the resins over to DD's. I'm sure once you get a DD in hand, you'll really enjoy their posability and the weight savings. The first time I held a 60cm resin doll I was amazed at how heavy they were... DD's are like a third of that weight.

So any ideas of who you want as your first yet? Will you go for a character doll or make your own?

Billy

I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

What kind of fairs do you have in Netherlands? (And does people in those fairs speak english?) Do you have your own doll shop? Where?

I've been buying stuff from webshops located in Netherlands and some of them might have actual stores O_O so I've been tempted by the thought to take a trip to Amsterdam one day

Oh, and Welcome to the forum ^_^

I'm so sorry Maarit for not being here on the board for a while (not even lurking) but to answer your questions:

There are not many fairs specialized in Dollfie Dreams or BJDs and they aren't always that large.

There is 2 times each year Dolliverse (small and mainly BJD, Pullip, Blythe) but it seems to attrack less people each time, don't know why because I liked it as a visitor and as a seller. I won't be there this Autumn because I'm too busy at home and with the webshop.

So that answers your other question. My webshop is http://www.dollsdepartment25.com and is home based near Amsterdam. Might you visit Amsterdam, you're welcome to give me a visit too, just let me know if you like to do that

Other doll fairs in the Netherlands that are known for their diversity are to find overhere:

Here you'll find most of the time attending: Triskel Fantasy (sells hobby items and BJD dolls and stuff) online they are here: http://www.triskelfantasy.com and some times Think Pink! (selling BJD products and dolls) too.

Thanks for welcoming me

And oooohhh, let's not forget; I'll have my first Dollfie Dream doll very soon now, it will be Saber Extra (nude with original box, papers, default eyes and sword) so I'm thrilled
